Leave it to Vren to be a smart arse in times of dire discomfort - both physically and emotionally. "Well that's just fine," Tris started, complete with smug tone. "I'll just go by my-"

Her words cut short when Siv's comment cut across the comm, and that wasn't all. The noise of something large swimming around them was audible, especially considering all they had around them was darkness and water. "What the haran was that?" She may not have seen the thing first hand, but she also didn't have to wait around long for an answer. All at once, the four of them were out of their element quite literally. The cold made their movements stiff and their reaction times suffered in response. A fact which was doubly proven when whatever that thing was decided to make a move.

"Vren!" she had only had enough light on him to see him get struck, but not enough distance with her beam to see where he had been gone. "Siv, Kale! Shoot the damn thing!" she railed out, though to be fair it wasn't as if they could see well to get effective shots off. And in this cold? There was no telling how well blasters were going to work.

Which caused Tris to reach down to her leg and draw a hefty blade from her side. It wasn't anything fancy, or even all that impressive to look at, but it was sharp. With Kale and Vren both having fired off missiles at the creature, Tris used the brief flashes of light in the darkness to watch their predator. The noise of impact - both from the shots and the overgrown fish - were felt more than they were heard due to the pressure of the water around them. Never the less, Tristan used this as a guide, and when the slimey, scaly monstrosity started to circle around the collection of them all again, she used both hands to stab the blade as deeply as it would penetrate the scales.

At first, this had jerked Tris from where she had been, but she was only along for a rough ride for a few short meters. Eventually the catch of the blade gave way and rather than remain stuck deeply, it instead raked down the length of the creature's body until Tristan finally managed to free both the blade and herself. She had no idea how effective it would be, but she knew her efforts would at least have the thing wounded now. "It should be bleeding now," she called out across the comm. "Easier to track at least!"

Siv only had time to hear Vren say, "Chit," before he saw a massive barbed tale slice across the man's beskar'gam and the armor began to fill with water. By virtue of being in closer proximity, Onara was able to get to his fellow Mandalorian before Siv, leaving him and Tris to the actual killing of the beast.

The water was dark, murky, perfect for some underwater leviathan to be able to do and hunt what it wants without fear of a few alien bipeds that were trying to hunt it. He was barely able to see Tris rake a blade through it's size, and the monster's roar reverberated underwater, the distortion not enough to silence its cries. Tris called that it was bleeding now -- and that would make it marginally easier to track, at least.

The good news was that this beast didn't seem to be quite as invulnerable as the monstrosity they'd faced back in the catacombs. Vren's rocket had agitated it, and Tris had actually been able to penetrate the beast's natural armor with her blade. Tris's idea to track it with its blood was ingenuitive, but Siv soon found out that it wasn't exactly practical. The water was swirling at a fast pace, quickly diluting any trail of blood until his sensors couldn't get anything.

He slowly came under the realization of what he would have to do. And Siv did not like it, at all.

"Feth it," he muttered before moving to the glowrod on his helmet and turning it up to its brightest setting. He was making a gambit; such a bright light would effectively turn Siv into bait, luring the beast directly towards him. If he'd be able to line up the shot right, then this beast could be properly dealt with. If not? Siv would be its mid-day snack.

His light singled him out from the rest, and he shone like a lone beacon. He made sure that his wrist-mounted missile launcher was functioning underwater -- he only had one shot. One chance to make it, or else he'd be dead, and it wouldn't be helping the chance of his fellow warriors as well.

Another roar reverberated through the frozen ocean. He watched as out of nothing appeared a dark mass, coming more into focus as it swam closer. It's caping mouth was wide open, displaying crooked, long and jagged teeth, ready to swallow Siv whole. Aiming his wrist down his throat, Siv fired without hesitation, the missile leaving a stream of bubbles and disturbed water as it accelerated right down the monster's gullet.

He quickly ignited a single rocket from his jetpack, propelling him over the side as the monster swam past, it's thick and muscled body flashing past Siv. A dull thud echoed through the water before a blinding burst of combusting flesh and imploding water mixed together before it dissipated in a field of blod. He grabbed a hunk of floating flesh before looking around. It looked like. . . it was over.

"Let's get the feth out of here. Maybe this flesh can give us some clues on what that was," Siv said into his comms, studying the clump he held in his hands. "Who knows, maybe it even tastes good. But I don't want to find out of there are any creatures in this forsaken ocean that'd think the same thing."
