SETTING INFORMATION

 • City Name: The Cradle

 • Classification: Metroplis

 • Location: Zakuul

 • Affiliation: The First Order

 • Demographics: 43% Human. 57% Various Aliens.

 • Wealth: Medium. The Cradle’s function as a city millenia ago was to service the Emperor Valkorion’s construction of the Spire, his vertical golden city. Thousands of years later, there has been no use for enormous architectural endeavours, and the Cradle grew, and so did its industries, allowing it to sustain itself through its exports and imports.

 • Stability: Medium. One of the newer planets brought into the First Order’s folds, there are a handful of nobles that stand against Imperial rule, but otherwise follow the command of their Zakuulan born rulers, backed by A’sharad Graush and thus, the First Order and her military. There is crime on account of the vast size of the city, but not enough for it to be noteworthy.

 • Description: Where The Spire, the planet’s Capital city rises high above the clouds, it’s highest point resting beyond the atmosphere itself, the Cradle sits as its lesser known, not as ambitious cousin. The Spire was built to shine in the sun and to hold the spotlight of the galaxy tens of thousands of years ago. The Cradle is built with darker materials, its structures as dark as obsidian, but a glow that didn’t absorb or reflect lift, but held a soft glow, a certain lustre that wasn’t captured by other settlements on Zakuul.

The Citadel

The Citadel rises high above the Cradle,
The Spire has found it's rival in sheer vertical scale,
It's construction was sanctioned and funded by A'sharad Graush,
Hundreds of mentors, veteran warriors and mercenaries educate here.

Palace of Tyth

The Palace of Tyth has become the home of Zakuul's greatest warriors,
Zealots live here, they guard the Pantheon's secrets, and train others to follow in their path,
Entrance is only granted to the few who have completed the trials set before seekers of Tyth's knowledge,
The trials set before seekers are unknown, the nameless few who have however, have statues erected in their likeness to honour them.

The Cradle's Spaceport

The industrial zone of the Cradle.
SECURITY
Medium. A few thousand law enforcement forces and an Army Garrison within the city leaves the city moderately defended, not possessing any high level of technology for weapons or protection due to the relatively low average levels of crime in a city of this size. There is an indeterminate number of zealot warriors in the Palace of Tyth, though the number is estimated to be over one thousand.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Cradle existed thousands of years ago, it's purpose as a supplier for the Spire its only reason for being. Therefore, Quadrant Nine, although renamed, is its oldest and thus largest span of territory on the planet. Extending for a long distance, much of its workings and automated, are performed by droids, the people of Zakuul having long been a culture revolving around hedonism and the servitude of droids, the reality of work was not one they subscribed to.

When the Gulag Plague spanned the entirety of the Galaxy, Zakuul had returned to its seclusion and hadn't returned to the eyes of the Galaxy, not until the First Order had dropped on its shores and claimed the planet under its growing dominion of Imperialism. A'sharad Graush, the Supreme Commander of the First Order being the face for diplomacy with the Zakuulans, Graush had spared the people of the planet the widespread conscription some of the Order had been subjected to, instead, making a deal for a twenty thousand strong auxiliary force that was backed by the people of The Cradle.

The Palace of Tyth and its zealots led the city in the absence of an actual ruler during the Gulag Plague and its following years up to modern day. Left alone for the most part, the zealots have retreated back into their Palace and have rarely been seen since the Imperial warfleet had emerged in orbit of the planet. Publicly passive, the people of the Cradle welcomed the First Order and the Citadel's construction over their city, strengthening its ties through the Supreme Commander.
