The cold proves

[member="Vallory"]

Ilum

Then planet had so much history within the force, many had come to collect a certain crystal that resides on the planet

Kyber Crystal's

The one thing that made a lightsaber work, the power of it and what determined the color...but one didnt just pick out a crystal of there choosing no the crystal would choose its wielder or even Crystal's would.

High above the cold planet, stardust little shuttle flew towards the surface, much research had been done to find the location of a certain cave on the planet long used by many jedi of old that stardust thought would be perfect for her own apprentice to get her own crystal and create it. In the cargo home stardust had brigh many pieces so that her apprentice may make her saber.

Landing on a opening star sighed and looked back

weve arrived

As opposed to any other time where she wore armor, stardust opted to wearing jedi like robes today, as she turned her chair and stood walking to the cargo bay

Vallory sat aboard the shuttle. Arms crossed in front of her, she had a robe on just as [member="Stardust Australis Skirae"] did. She had wondered what such a robe was like...and she didn't very much like it. It was too big for her, at least felt too big for her form. She still had her usual outfit underneath, the dark coloring showing from underneath the robe. She sat in the cargo bay, waiting for them to land. And soon the did shuttle touched down. Out Vallory walked...

Now she was glad for the robe as she hugged it close to her body. "W-Woah! That's a chill...Why couldn't it have been some summer place, all warm and cozy" she muttered under her breath. The cold really took her by surprise.

hmmmm....bare the cold, it is merely out here we will not be put here long

A heavy boot in the snow disturbed the ground, waving for her to follow stardust looked around with a bit of awe. Such a place hat had been visited many times in the clonewars, stardust focused on the take plenty of time for looking around...entering a cavern she looked up seeing she was just in time

within these caves lies kyber crystals, you will go into the caves and find the ones that call to you or one from what I've read it differs....however

She pointed to the top of the cave

do not take too long or itll freeze over and trap you...ive confidence you'll come back...now go... time is not your ally

"I hope not" she answered back. If what she was to do was outside, she would not last so well. That she could very well guess. Following along they entered a cavern. And she at least felt warmer in here, but her breath still turned to steam as she breathed out. She held her arms across her chest, trying to keep herself warm enough to the point she at least did not shake. "Kyber, I know of them. Used for lightsabers and other stuff...So how will I know? A voice? Some feeling?"

If it was some feeling, well Vallory was not so hopeful...and then [member="Stardust Australis Skirae"] went on ahead to say that if she stayed inside too long, that was it. She would be left there. She would be dead. "Oh...cheery place." With that all in mind, she took a deep breath and went in.

you will know believe me my apprentice

She wasnt going to lie, the risk were out there. Nodding as her apprentice left she let a breath out and sat on the cold floor closing her eyes as she focused on the force around her taking a bretah as she monitored her apprentice

The caves were beautiful and quiet, only the wind that occasionally whistled through the tunnels...the cave system spanned out in many different ways

What path would this one follow?

Vallory ventured through the cavern. No weapons, except her physical skill and her fangs but what use would they be here? She shivered in the cold of the cavern. Part of her was seeing this as too dangerous. She was always attracted to the feeling of danger, but there was always a limit. Yet as always, she adopted a disguise to hide this. To look tough, to seem as if she enjoyed this. With a smile on her face, she continued. Till she got to a point of multiple passages. She felt nothing from them, and it frustrated her. How long it took her for this choice, she did not know.

So she picked one to the right. A chill passed over her, but it wasn't like that of the ice and snow. It shook her to the core, and she paused. She wanted to go another path now, an easier path. One where she could get through this in no time at all, and be done with it. Vallory was afraid, and ahead she saw a shadow pass down. A voice touched her ears, a whisper. The voice of her hero.

Stardust felt her move in deeper and deeper, stardust could barely feel her now and soon she was gone as her eyes opened....she was still there yet she couldnt point to where at all. Sighing she closed her eyes and focused on the force again this time on herself feeling the wave of the force surround her

Dark and light mixed around her balanced about, whispering in her ear as she let her breath out as she pushed the two away and let them flow around her...eyes opened to look at the ice seeing down a bit

Vallory followed the shadow. Perhaps it was a stupid move, but she had always looked up to her hero. She quickened her pace slightly, and soon stopped. There they stood, her hero. Was this the test? She could not see why it was. Cloaked in darkness, but she was sure it was her hero. She was sure....then she heard their voice. "Here to run away again?" That shocked her hearing it. Never had she expected them to say that. "I...what? Run away? No, I'm here to make my master proud. I'm not..." Suddenly it felt very cold.

The form shifted, a whip crackled to life. And fear filled her as she turned. A slaver, no it couldn't have been. She had no way to defend herself, and how had they found her?

Fear

Stardust felt that fill the force, eyes opened again as she knew the apprentice had met her first challenge, what it was star wouldn't know nor would she interfere at all...she had to remind herself this was a test for her apprentice

Closing her eyes again she sighed not knowing how much time was passing

Vallory hid around a corner within the caverns. They beckoned for her, to show her all the horrors she had gone through. To attempt to sound tempting, to draw her out. The fear was taking on hold of her. "No...No they can't...they can't find me" she whispered, looking around. The slaver was tracking her through the caverns. Looking for Vallory. Her past she always held back. How she lost a friend because they sacrificed themselves to slavers. How she had been saved, and now she faced this.

Back at that time she had run away. Run from her troubles. Run without saving her friend. She had left her friend behind, and never found out what had happened to her. And now, Vallory was here facing that...And what could make it worse, then hearing that friend being chased now.

The urge to get up and help her was strong, stardust even stood up and went to run but it felt like something had placed a hand on her shoulder almost...calming...as if letting her know she couldnt interfere that this was a test for her apprentice, that she cpuldnt always be there to defend her even if star wanted to do so

Sighing, she sat back down and looked up seeing the ice wall down a few inches, closing her eyes she focused again. If she cluldnt help directly she would indirectly. Using the force stardust focused on sending a warning presence of courage....hoping that would work

Vallory took a few deep breaths. Her friend was in trouble...she did what she never had the strength to do back then. Unarmed, feeling like her young self once more, she stepped out. "Hey!" The slaver would then turn, a menacing look upon their face. They loomed over her, and her friend made it away. But Vallory did not follow, she stood her ground. "You will....you will not hurt her!" She shouted, her voice shaking as she did so. The slaver seemed stunned...then burst out in chortles. Fear took hold yet still she stood strong. They raised their whip, and she kept herself strong. Shaking to the core, and closed her eyes as it snapped over her.

And then, nothing. Just like that, all was gone. No more slaver, no more friend. Vallory collapsed to her knees, hand to her chest as she took several shaking breaths. Her worst fear had come to life...but was it truly her worst fear? She had yet to find out, as it was only her first test. Onwards she went, using the ice walls to balance herself along. And now she felt a tug in a direction.

Eyes opened, she looked towards the ice as it was less then a quarter way down, sighing stardust closed her eyes once again feeling her apprentice within the caves fear still emitting but within that it soon...was gone, sighing out in relief she smiled feekimg quite proud

one of many test...

She spoke to herself

Vallory stumbled onward, her hand still to her chest. Her heart was racing and her breath appeared like mist. The caves so cold around her, the sense of danger no longer had her eager to go through, no longer excited her. She was still afraid. And the shadow she had been following was still not seen, so she only followed her gut feeling forward. But, was it a gut feeling? Was it the Force, pulling her? The crystal, calling to her? A breeze passed through, blowing her robe off. It was a powerful breeze, something with great power was ahead. She came to a junction, the power was one way. And the pulling, was another.

Something was clawing at her heart, trying to reign her off course. The sense of power, how she had loved such power. The feeling of power, being strong. Facing danger head on, without fear. Only the power held within, pushing her towards her foes. Bringing them down with a strength forever unknown to her. Surely she could come back to the crystal, the power could help her achieve her goal. Whispers tempted her, the strength she yearned for.

hmmmmm

The dark side grew, whispering around stardust before it moved away towards prey muh easier it thought, a frown grew as she k e exactly where it was heading and why. Her apprentice was still so easily able to be molded....one she hoped after this trip would not be true and that a stone path could be set for the girl

Focusing on a power star used once before elomg ago she began to mentally speak to her apprentice

beware the draw of power....for it is the dark side and has abandoned you before

It came in a low whisper

Vallory focused, trying to see what was ahead. If only she knew what was ahead, she would take the step. She would move forward. But then a voice came, and right away Vallory knew what it was. "It can help me...I know it can." She was so sure the power could help her. It felt dark but so, so strong. She could just speed on through this cavern, get the crystal, then out she would go. "I am sure it can..." her voice came out in a whisper instead of through her mind, and she dared to step in that direction.

so that it may abandon you again when something it cant face comes as it did me?

Her brow furrowed, the one lesson that didnt seem to get though that thick head of her apprentice, taking a breath she let it out balancing her out as she opened her eyes seeing the door a few Inches more frozen

resist it, for it will only lead to pain

Vallory held herself there. It was so awfully tempting. The promises the whispers gave. Of power, of vengeance, of survival. "I can survive with it" she hissed out, as if Stardust was right there before her. "I had a hero, I tried to be them and I will never be like them. This power can make me like them!" She took another step but it was without realizing doing so, this time. Stepping towards the darkness. She could be strong like her hero, go on all the adventures she had gone on. It was a life, a dream that Vallory just could not let go of. It was a dream of hers to be just like her hero...to be her own hero.

you are not like your hero

She said so bluntly, disappointment could be felt coming from stardust as she seemed to be just mere feet away through the force

you are vallory, a person different from your hero, a person who can forge their own path to be a hero for others....not a carbon copy of someone...

Vallory hissed at Stardust's words. Vallory was weak, always playing as if she was brave and adventurous. But in recent times she always showed her true self. Fearful, on the run always. "And what if I was? What if all my life, I was raised to be like them. Raised like so because I wanted it that way?" For so long did she want to be like her hero. So to be told she was to be something different. It hurt to be told so, and the darkness offered a comfort. Through rage, through power, through the Dark side.
