The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway [Théo]

Valae opened her eyes just in time to see Theo thrust the blade forward, and she stepped back as the point of the wooden sword came flush with her chest. It didn’t hurt, but she rubbed the spot with her palm nonetheless. Perhaps it was the thought that was more troubling, what if that had been a real weapon in the hands of a real adversary. She pushed her lips out into a tiny frown, but nodded at Theo’s words.

“Gotcha – I’ll try harder. Thinking ahead has never been a specialty of mine.” She admitted.

She discarded the piece of lumber gently, and set it off to the side. A moment later, she found the hilt of the wooden sword in her gloved hands. Drawing in a deep breath, she took a moment to get used to the weight of the practice sword in her grasp. It’d been such a long time. Valae had a momentary flash of nostalgia, her thoughts traveled back to the courtyard of the Silver Temple, and the days that she’d spent practicing her strikes against the wooden dummies.

“Alright, Praetor Heavenshield. Get ready!” She called, half jesting.

Pushing off the ground with her back foot, she launched an attack aiming for Theo’s broad shoulders. Her practice sword would take a path striking down towards his right side.

"Have at me Miss Kitra", he teased back with a smile and set himself ready. For someone that did not wish to wield a saber she actually had style with the thing as she came at him. She would make a good bladeswomen yet he would not suggest it to her knowing her mind. He was pleased, if ever the moment came where she had to pick one up she could do something with it.

His hands raised as he pulled the force to them, a soft glow of white light flicked his skin but nothing would issued forward from it not visibly anyway. His right hand moved in the direction of her sword arm and through the force he stopped it before it would strike, she was roughly two or three meters from him still and he held her arm with telekinesis, she would not be able to move it. His other hand lowered and pulled up a wall of snow in front of her feet and with a gentle push he hit her square on covering her in the white ice from head to toe. He could have done a lot more with it but Val is not the enemy.

Theo let his arms fall to his sides and he chuckled at her all in white. "If you are on a battle field, surrounded by things like metal debris, or dust or sand whatever, use it to your advantage. You can .. if done with a clever thought, incapacitate your opponent with anything".

What he had done was a small example, and as he walked to her to stand beside her, the wall of ice returned as his arms parted and pulled the force. Around them both the ice and snow circled, growing faster and faster around them. He could feel the air sucked upward in the growing vortex, and their clothes pulled tight to their bodies. It was enough to show her what she can do given the practice, "If you create a vortex around your opponent like this, they will struggle to breath, they can not see you and they would have to do something great to get out of it". All of a sudden the vortex of ice fell to the ground around them in a pile.

"And if you are real powerful like my mother, that ice could become solid".
