SPECIAL FEATURES
Able to stand firm against heat based attacks.
Can channel thermal energy and transmute it into flame or plasma.
STRENGTHS
Heat 'em up: Because the artisans who worked on these gauntlets poured their effort into making them resilient against high heat, they can withstand incredible amounts of thermal punishment. They do very little to keep you warm when you're cold, though.
Energy transmutation: The gauntlet has the ability to absorb and conduct heat energy from it's surroundings. Be it a lightsaber, the shot from a blaster, nearby flame, or the user's own body heat, the gauntlet can manifest that energy into a tangible form.
WEAKNESSES:
No inherent kinetic force: It can store and repurpose heat energy, but it cannot generate any propulsion to fire it like a weapon. In the hands of a non-force sensitive user, it can function like a torch or a lighter and little else.
Low-heat risk: In the absence of a heat source, the gauntlet can syphon some of the heat from the wearer. The amount of actual thermal energy syphoned this way is relatively low and can cause the user to drop in core temperature, inducing hypothermia even if they are reckless.
High-heat risk: While it can take abuse from plasma weapons and even lightsabers, the metal can steadily overheat to the point where it causes burn damage to the wearer. If the energy is not released at regular intervals, it could cause third degree burns, and even nerve damage.
DESCRIPTION
During an age before interplanetary travel, in a time where people did not fully understand the subtleties of the Force, it was considered to be a form of magic. Those who could use it experimented with myriad ways to fold it and weave it to great effect.
One such man, a Blacksmith, approached the King and asked that he be given the chance to work the royal forge for a day. With waters blessed by the gods, as the legends went, he invested his strange power into the metal as he worked it. As it took form, hardened, and finally set in the shape he envisioned, the Blacksmith offered up his tribute to the King.
A gauntlet, simple enough in design- but unique in function. Energy attacks were not commonplace during that era: those who could generate high heat based damage were considered especially dangerous; and so, for the King to be able to confront them he would need a tool.
The Claws of Aslu, named for the Sun god of his people, feared no kind of fire. With it, he could grip heated weapons for a time or swat aside conjured balls of flame.
In the hands of the King however, it had much greater potential.
