The Chiss Primacy
Before the fall of the One Sith, before the Rise of the Galactic Alliance and First Order, before the Iron Empire - there was the Chiss Ascendancy. A core of Chiss worlds in the Csilla system, it wasn't long before the shadows of the One Sith began expanding in their direction. The CDF was strong, but nowhere near equipped to withstand the immense might of the OS and so they birthed a secret project. A project that would see the Ascendancy survive no matter what happened to the core worlds, a legacy that would carry on the Chiss people even were Csilla to fall to the One Sith. The project remained unnamed, a classified and nearly entirely undocumented effort to develop, construct, and crew a massive colony ship. The idea was that the vessel would jump to hyperspace in an effort to leave the galaxy, colonize a new world and ensure the survival of the Chiss people - and impressively, they were able to do so. Everything had gone according to plan - members of the four families came together, volunteered themselves as a part of the crew, as a part of the civilian complement. Scientists, researchers, officers of the family Phalanxes, doctors, teachers - Chiss men and women from all walks of life were driven by duty to take part. As the vessel prepared for its journey, so also had its crew and captain. Unfortunately - what happened next wasn't something they could have even hoped to have trained for.

What Happened?

The CNV Ch'otcarun'o as it was named, is a deep space colony ship. Designed to travel for up to a decade before reaching an inhabitable world, it was a necessity that the ship be equipped with cryo-stasis chambers. In fact, much of the crew if not all would be confined to their stasis chambers until the computer and accompanying droid crew initiated the wake sequence. With its crew tucked away safely in their pods, the Ch'otcarun'o made its jump to hyperspace - prepared to travel far away to an entirely different galaxy. It didn't make it. While navigation computers and processing systems are by all means capable, the Chiss weren't known for their navigational systems, preferring to rely on beacons to direct their travel. Mid flight, the colony vessel failed to detect and account for a large spacial anomaly just at the edge of the galaxy - instead of escaping it and going on to find new worlds, it was cast into an empty void, trapped somewhere in time and space. Several years passed, the vessel diligently sailing onward - or so its computer systems thought, until the Ch'otcarun'o was unceremoniously spat out by the very anomaly that had absorbed it. Originally spat out in the Rakatan Archipelago, the crew has emerged to a familiar galaxy but an entirely unrecognizable landscape. The One Sith have fallen, the Iron Empire rules over the core worlds in conjunction with the Chiss Ascendancy as a vassal state, a direct result of the efforts of the Iron Empire to repel the threat of the One Sith and protect the endangered Chiss people.

Structure

Essentially built of a framework similar to the historical Chiss Ascendancy, the ship is crewed by members of each family but the true governing and decision making power lies with the Aristocra. A council of four, the Aristocra (Head of House) from each family collectively make decisions as a whole. Even historically the Chiss are known to have revered duty to their people above all else, and so there is little concern that the houses should ever be caught in a stalemate of 2 vs 2. While there are currently only 4 ruling families recognized by the council of Aristocra, there is precedent to seat more provided the family possesses enough sway to warrant their inclusion - of course determined by the collective Aristocra. The current four Aristocra belong to the following houses: Nuruodo, Csapla, Inrokini, and Sabosen. Each house of course has their own specialty.

Now, upon discovering that the Chiss Ascendancy still remains - they have opted to complete their mission of colonization. Rather than rejoin their brothers and sisters as a vassal state of the Iron Empire, they have decided to strike out on their own and carry out the duty that their predecessors set before them. Grateful to the Iron Empire though they are, their goal is to form a new home for themselves, a new core of Chiss worlds. The Chiss Primacy seeks to develop a close knit collection of planets that they can colonize and populate. A desire to be on even footing with the governments around them, a desire to be independent, a desire to be a strong Chiss nation - these are some of the things which drive them forwards.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to create a Chiss character should you so choose. Given the premise and the thread itself, cryo-stasis has just begun to be suspended for the crew and occupants. Even the command crew. If you have ideas or would like to join in, feel free to do so!
