Over View:
Like a Phoenix; The Chiss Ascendancy is reborn from the ashes of that which came before it. Calling to those that survived the Gulag Plague and seeking to return to the glory that it had once held. The Chiss Ascendancy is the reborn government of that which once held the name; that came before it. Now it is an Autocratic Republican Oligarchy which operates more in line with a Confederation rather than a true Empire. Accepting of all beings and standing in line with the ideals and thoughts of the Empire of the Hand; the Chiss Ascendancy now openly accepts alien species of all kinds. Their military is a utilitarian, culturally diverse fighting force incorporating technology and designs from all walks of life.

Government:
The Chiss Ascendancy is an Autocratic Republican Oligarchy that operates more like a Confederation rather than a proper Empire.

Elected Monarch:
The Chiss Ascendancy is headed by an Elected Monarch who reigns until their death, at which point a new Monarch is elected to the office. They are held with the singular responsibility of leading the Chiss Ascendancy to regain the power, prestige and wealth of the former Ascendancy. To this end they are tasked with reclaiming the lost colonial worlds and the whole of Chiss space. To recover the technologies and populations that they had once held sway over and to ensure that the Chiss Ascendancy does not fall again.

Council of Families:
The Council of Families is the formation of the four surviving ruling families of the pre-Gulag Plague Chiss Ascendancy. Each family has a voice within the Council of Families, with each family electing four members of their own to serve on the council. To this end they act as advisers to the elected Monarch to aid them in their reign. They also oversee elections of a new Monarch when the time comes; while at the same time acting as a ruling council in the interm periods between reigning monarchs.

Likewise each of the ruling families is given the responsibility over a sector of governance within the Chiss Ascendancy. House Nuruodo is responsible for Military and Foreign Affairs. House Csapla sees to Resource Management and the planing of reclaiming lost colonial worlds. House Inrokini is tasked with watching over the Industry, Non-Military Science and Communications of the Chiss Ascendancy. While House Sabosen is given the responsibility of the systems of Law and Order, Health and Education.

Ascendancy Senate:
The Ascendancy Senate was introduced as the ideals of the Empire of the Hand were accepted and used to aid in the reconstruction of the Chiss Ascendancy. Rather than reigning over new worlds through the use of brute force to subjugate them; they have taken to forming alliances with neighboring worlds. To ensure proper support and representation the Ascendancy Senate holds a seat for each member world in which a representative may be elected to represent their respected world. This also ensures the security and strength of the reborn Chiss Ascendancy through the acceptance of multiple species and cultures.

Military:
The Chiss Ascendancy fields a military that is culturally diverse, utilitarian fighting force that accepts beings of all ideology, creed, and sex into its service.

Chiss Ascendancy Defense Fleet:
The Chiss Ascendancy Defense Fleet (CADF) is the premier fighting force that is tasked with the defense of the Chiss Ascendancy and those worlds that have joined under its reign. It is comprised of multiple warships from multiple species, crewed by multiple beings all working together to defend their worlds and homes within the space of the reborn Chiss Ascendancy. Likewise this fleet is only ever seen within the borders of the Chiss Ascendancy and are known to staunchly and aggressively defend the worlds of the Ascendancy from all manner of threats.

Chiss Ascendancy Vanguard Phalanx:
The Chiss Ascendancy Vanguard Phalanx, colloquially called the Vanguard Phalanx; is the formation of the old Colonial Phalanxes and the old Chiss Expansionary Fleet. To this end they have taken on the role of a new fighting force. Their responsibilities include the patrolling the borders of the Ascendancy, seeking out new worlds to join the Ascendancy and striking at potential threats before they can become a full threat to the reborn Ascendancy. Their responsibilities also include the subjugation of potentially dangerous threats deemed chaotic to the order of the Ascendancy, with the mandate to subjugate or destroy these influences for the good of the Ascendancy.

Household Phalanxes:
A remnant and reminder of the old Chiss Ascendancy. The Household Phalanxes are a reminder of the past as they march into the future. Continuing to remain loyal to their house, these Phalanxes protect the surviving Ruling families and ensure their continued survival in the new future. With the major ruling families holding the largest of the Household Phalanxes, there are numerous more that stand for the minor houses and families that vie for their own strength and power in the new Ascendancy.

Foreign Affairs:
As the reborn Chiss Ascendancy has remained quiet and hidden within the old confines of the former Ascendancy; they have yet to interact on a galactic level with the current reining governments. To this end they are watching the actions of these galactic governments closely and carefully calculating their success, as well as the pros and cons of each possible alliance that would be brought to the Chiss Ascendancy when they make themselves known to the greater galaxy.

Goals:

• The Chiss Ascendancy seeks to rebuild what was lost during the Gulag Plague
• To reclaim the lost colonial worlds
• Rebuild the strength of the Chiss Species and relocate all homeless Chiss to the new Ascendancy
• Ensure the safety of the Chiss species while also ensuring the security of the new Ascendancy

The Chiss Ascendancy is still alive and kicking. We need only more members - admirals, commodores, captains, generals, majors, senators... the Chiss will rise, but only so far as I members take us.

We field three different Naval branches: the Expansionary Defense Force, to explore and expand Chiss territory into the Unknown Regions, the specialized Preventive Offense Force, an elite fleet with the sole purpose of acting as the first, highly offensive wave in any naval engagement, and the System Police Force, to patrol Chiss Space and protect the integrity of its established territories and colonies.

Ascendancy Senate:

The Ascendancy Senate was introduced as the ideals of the Empire of the Hand were accepted and used to aid in the reconstruction of the Chiss Ascendancy. Rather than reigning over new worlds through the use of brute force to subjugate them; they have taken to forming alliances with neighboring worlds. To ensure proper support and representation the Ascendancy Senate holds two seats for each member world in which a representative may be elected to represent their respected world. This also ensures the security and strength of the reborn Chiss Ascendancy through the acceptance of multiple species and cultures. Of these two officials, one is put forward as an official Gyon in the Atrisian Empire.

The Chiss Ascendancy fields a military that is a culturally diverse, utilitarian fighting force that accepts beings of all ideology, creed, and sex into its service. It is the most important aspect of the new Ascendancy, and their culture has adapted to reflect this fact. Young Chiss men and women dream of joining the military.

Chiss Ascendancy Expansionary Defense Force:

The Chiss Ascendancy Expansionary Defense Force (CA-EDF) is tasked with exploring the Unknown Regions and expanding Chiss Space. It is comprised of multiple warships from multiple species, crewed by multiple beings all working together to defend their worlds and homes within the space of the reborn Chiss Ascendancy. Essentially, the are the ever expanding shields of the Ascendancy.

Chiss Ascendancy Preventive Offense Force:

The Chiss Ascendancy Preventive Offense Force (CA-POF) is the premier fighting force of the Ascendancy, tasked with leading our fleets into war. They are the cutting edge of the naval military, operating in tandem with the EDF and the SPF to spearhead any and all naval campaigns of the Chiss Ascendancy and those worlds that have joined under its reign. Their responsibilities include the subjugation of potentially dangerous threats deemed chaotic to the order of the Ascendancy, with the mandate to subjugate or destroy these influences for the good of the Ascendancy. Essentially, they are the hammers.

Chiss Ascendancy System Police Force:

The Chiss Ascendancy System Police Force (CA-SPF), colloquially called the Vanguard Phalanx, is tasked with patrolling and defending the borders of the Ascendancy. They operate in tandem with the POF and the EDF, growing in size as the EDF colonizes more worlds. Likewise this fleet is only ever seen within the borders of the Chiss Ascendancy, and are known to staunchly and aggressively defend the worlds of the Ascendancy from all manner of threats.

Naval Academy:

It is from this institute that the fleet's Admirals are chosen. Potentials are put through rigorous testing, both theoretical and practical, pitted against impossible simulations and pushed to their mental and physical limits. Only the best are allowed into the Academy, and only the best of the best successfully graduate from its hallowed halls.

Household Phalanxes:

A remnant of the old Chiss Ascendancy. The Household Phalanxes protect the surviving Ruling families and ensure their continued survival in the new future. With the major ruling families holding the largest of the Household Phalanxes, there are numerous more that stand for the minor houses and families that vie for their own strength and power in the new Ascendancy. In this new time, the Household Phalanxes serve as the Ascendancy's elite ground troops, trained to do combat in all manner of habitats with all manner of weapons.

Dark Jedi Praxeum:

Founded by Prince Garec, the last son of the Csapla family and soon to be Grand Admiral of the POF, the Dark Jedi Praxeum is an academy for the Ascendancy's burgeoning Force-adept population, based out of a fleet of repurposed Tarkin I star destroyers. They are meant to serve as the heads of the Ascendancy's forces, as its Admirals and Commanders, for the Force grants its users awareness and abilities far beyond the norm. They deal in neither the absolutes of the Sith nor the ideals of the Jedi, observing no limits on their power, utilizing the Force to further the interests of the Ascendancy.
