CONTENTS
Utilizing Sith Magic and Alchemy the Chimera Sphere has been imbued with the power of illusions. Once activated with a price of blood it steeps its surroundings in an illusion, anyone except the ones keyed to the sphere are influenced by this.

Before activation the sphere can be commanded to assume a certain illusion through a mental command.

Strengths:

Sith Magic. The illusions are tangible and cannot be detected by normal means. Not even computer sensory equipment.
Adaptive. The illusions can be changed prior to activation.
Timeless. There is no known duration to the effect. As long as the Force flows around the sphere, the illusions will continue to exist, until the sphere is deactivated.
Price of Blood. One needs to sacrifice their blood to the sphere to become keyed to it, before they are left unaffected by the illusions.
Weaknesses:
Price of Blood. Activation always requires a blood sacrifice, even when keyed to the sphere. Furthermore every person needs to go through the sacrifice, if they want to be able to see through the illusions. Not handy during house parties.
Force Born. A creation of the Force can be nullified by ysalamir or similar things. The illusions melt away before force-null fields.
Light. A barrage of the Lightside will turn the sphere inert and non functional.
Mind. If one is aware that an illusion has been cast over the area, a sufficiently trained and powerful mentalist can pierce the illusions and see what’s beyond.
Stationary. You aren’t moving this thing around a lot.

DESCRIPTION
Months of excavation on Arkania yielded bounties of treasure and artifice for the one named Itash Mecetti. The mission to Eshan changed his priorities, yes, but he was not one to simply abandon something he fought so hard for.

One of the discoveries he made was the Chimera Sphere. A large orb set into ancient metal standard. All alchemized. Warm to the touch and whispering of a price to be used. Once his bloody hand touched the surface of the warm sphere, understanding flooded him.

Like a manual.

But more mystical than that.

It was used in the ancient days by Sith jealously guarding their secrets and places of worship. A single word combined with a price of blood would activate the sphere and powerful illusions would be wrapped around its surroundings.

The more blood you give, the more range the sphere has.

But it has to be your own blood… so natural limitations exist.

Very cool concept, nicely done. Looks good to go apart from one thing - can you edit the image source to a webpage where you found it?

  • This doesn't seem to jive. The dimensions and weight of this device make it appear incredibly easily to move about.

  • How are scanners and technological devices fooled by illusions that effect the sentient mind? I don't think this is logical and should be removed.

Please advise a weight that is more in line with the weakness. I am terrible at this.

The fact that Sith Magic illusions fool technology is canon. If necessary I can link you the relevant bits from the wikia. It is how Naga Sadow was capable of fooling the entire armada of the Republic with his illusionary fleet.

This is merely a very scaled down application.

Please link your source. Nevermind. I located it.

If your intent is to use mobility as a weakness this needs to be heavy enough for an average person to be unable to lift without substantial assistance, technology, or a burden of the Force.
