STRENGTHS
The Tie That Binds |
The Chain Veil is controlled via a Force Bond between Valkur and Kyrinov. Similar to mentalism, Kyrinov is able to reach out to Valkur through their bond and twist it in order to activate the mechanism which starts to flow of voltage emitted from the Veil.
Rune of Suffering | The only sign of Alchemy in the Veil is a small rune on either side of the collar. When the collar is switched “on”, the rune activates and allows the wearer to harness their pain into a boost of strength in the Force. This allows for a second wind in the wearer and may be converted into control of their Force usage with intense training.
Songsteel | As the main piece of the Veil is made out of songsteel, the device is very light and durable. In addition to this, due to its placement at the neck, it protects the sides and back of the wearer’s neck from fatal blows or injury.
Training Device | The Chain Veil is only used during training sessions and early missions. Once Valkur is able to control the Force without being dependent upon the Veil, it will be permanently disabled. Negotiations are always on the table, naturally. Should the Master-Apprentice pair deem it necessary through observation and proper discussion, the Veil may be worn for extended periods in everyday circumstances.

WEAKNESSES
Pain Is Temporary |
The wearer of the Chain Veil experiences excruciating volts of electricity shoot through their body. The Veil lacks a more traditional “remote control” and thus there is only one setting: pain.
Unbroken Chains | The Veil is only able to be removed by another individual, Valkur is unable to remove the device himself. Attempting to do so would result in a short 5 second shock burst.
Complex Construction | As the Veil is a unique creation, only an individual with sufficient knowledge of how the device works internally would be able to remove it. Typically, said person would be Kyrinov as the device is of his making.
Murdering Passions | As the Veil is only used during training and beginner field missions, it usually will not be present under other circumstances, leaving Valkur to find other means of channeling power should he need to.
Pointed Sword | The Veil does not cover the upper half of the wearer’s neck and thus leaves an extremely vulnerable opening if this section isn’t covered by alternate means of protection.

DESCRIPTION
What do you get when you put a madman and a weapon in a room together? A lot of risk and devious planning. Valkur was found and recovered in the early days of Kyrinov’s time as Chaplain of the Silencers. Taking interest in the man, Kyrinov accepted Valkur into the Silencers and the two struck a mutual deal and the Sith Lord took the weapon under his wing. Training quickly proved difficult as it appeared Valkur was unable to control the Force, even through one on one instructional time and several sessions. The duo decided to sit and have a discussion. Kyrinov did not feel that the risk of potentially being unable to temper Valkur’s ability to manipulate the Force was worth letting the man go, there was still great potential within him, it simply needed to be coaxed out and placed under control.

With his Apprentice’s approval, he went to work. Countless hours spent in the Epicanthix’s personal forge and chambers resulted in a device that functioned as a shock collar. Three thin chains made of songsteel connect the two larger pieces of metal together in the front and back to form the overall appearance on the Chain Veil. Longer individual chain links dangle from the main accessory as detailing. Imbued with a rune that is meant to aid Valkur in concentrating his pain into strength and power, the Veil ensures that Valkur is able to learn control over the Force. However, that control is not granted immediately and will come only through training with the Veil. If progress was observed, then the pair would slowly begin to lean off of the device to aid in channeling the Dark Side of the Force.

With the controls of the Chain Veil being delegated through an existing Force Bond between Master and Apprentice, the Veil has enough range to stretch across worlds and systems as a rather twisted and, perhaps, sinister method of instruction and “tough love”. The Veil may be worn at all times, but, usually, it is reserved for training and field missions. It could, in theory, be used as a method of discipline, though the pair have agreed against that particular usage of the device as it would violate the consensual nature of their agreement. After all, what use is a weapon if it is not effective at its job?
