Hangar Space: It is a civilian station, so it cannot hold squadrons of starfighters or other armed craft. However, the worldcraft possesses drydocks, refuelling depots and docking bays. Its large docking bays function as service docks for warships, including large capital ships. It features numerous berthings, docking clamps, and mooring tethers. It also has production yards that can produce ships and vehicles of varying size.
Maneuverability Rating: Low
Speed Rating: Low
Hyperdrive: Yes.
Hyperdrive Class: 0. 5. Backup Hyperdrive Class: 8.0

STANDARD FEATURES

  • All standard features. The Vahana comes fully equipped with the whole standard array of shields, systems and components that are normally associated with vessels of this size and class.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Very heavily armoured. It cannot dish out, but is able to endure an extreme amount of damage.
  • Fast hyperdrive.
  • Self-sufficient space habitat.
WEAKNESSES
  • Lacks offensive armaments. It can weather powerful bombardments, but not dish them out. Or shoot at an enemy in general.
  • It is as slow as a brick.
  • And about as manoeuvrable.
DESCRIPTION

In the mythology of certain Qadiri cultures, Vahana refers to a mystical being that serves as a mount for their gods. In this case, the Celestial Vahana is essentially an enormous habitation sphere. Its design is influenced by the Worldcraft of old, as well as contemporary stations Firemane built to provide homes and employment for massive amounts of people. The Vahana is capable of travel in realspace and hyperspace. Essentially, it is an artificial, miniature, terrestrial planet. This is in keeping with the ancient Worldcraft. The worldcraft was designed at the behest of Siobhan Kerrigan. Construction took place far on the fringes of space.

Only select members of Firemane's leadership were informed about it. These were individuals whose expertise or departments were required to build or protect the Phoenix. Security considerations mandated a need-to-know basis. Firemane partnered with Nova Bank, an interstellar banking enterprise led by a personal friend of Siobhan Kerrigan, to build the worldcraft. The Sky Caravan, a Qadiri trading conglomerate, has a minor stake in the project. Unfortunately, Siobhan could not attend the opening of the station, for she had suffered grievous injuries in a duel with an independent Sith Lord called Darth Soteria. Her deputy and Acting CEO, Kaylah Danton, oversaw it in her stead. The worldcraft is built around an artificial micro-star. It can be roughly compared to those utilised by Solar Ionization Reactors. Essentially, the station is built around a small, mobile Dyson Sphere. Said sphere collects energy and power from the star to keep the station running. It is possible for the Dyson Sphere's panels to pull closer to the star, enabling the simulation of night time for the interior. This does not impede the collection of energy from the star.

The station is huge, to say the least, and has several drydocks and other facilities that allow starships to dock. However, while heavily armoured, the worldcraft is unarmed. It can weather a tremendous bombardment, but not respond in kind. A powerful force field and advanced gravitic plates allow the station to maintain an atmosphere and standard gravity. Broadly speaking, the worldcraft is divided into an exterior cityscape, and internal areas dedicated to agriculture and nature. An artificial planetoid cannot be totally like the real thing, but a tremendous effort has been made to make it as close as possible.

Sections of the habitat are fabricated on artificial tectonic plates. These can be shifted by the operators of the worldcraft. Its interior is designed to mimic the landscape of a terrestrial planet. It is inverted, so that the micro-star is at the centre of the station and thus above the people living in it. The implementation of an advanced weather control system allows for the simulation of realistic weather patterns. Clouds can form, rain can fall and so on; it can get windy and the temperature of terrestrial areas can be altered to fit the climate of a tropical, arctic, temperate or other environment. On the ground level, one can find mountains, forests, small bodies of water, agricultural zones and other areas. This means that the worldcraft is self-sufficient and able to sustain its population.

Habitation areas have been set up in the cityscape. Here, the manifold people who call the worldcraft home live and work. They find gainful employment in the factories, drydocks and other essential facilities, while others work in the farmlands or are busy maintaining the station and its artificial environment. Space has been set aside for parks, entertainment areas, theatres, arenas and other places where people can enjoy themselves. Needless to say Siobhan has a residence in the cityscape. Because the vessel is so large, it has been sub-divided into various sectors to make it easier to administrate, uphold law and order, maintain the structures and essential systems. Thus each tectonic plante has its own administration. Of course, there is still an overarching leadership to control the worldcraft in its entirety. The addition of Replicator Series 3-D Printers, Molecular Furnaces and Fuel Converters ensures a high degree of recycling efficiency. This enhances the sustainability of the worldcraft. A large proportion of the worldcraft's population consists of refugees from various conflict zones both past and present. Others are economic migrants who have settled on the worldcraft due to being attracted by the manifold opportunities and the mystique of life in the stars.
