The Cambria Incident (New Republic Dominion of Cambria)

Aithne was surprised when she heard the word 'wait', causing her to hesitate and glance behind her only to see Abigail coming up and placing a hand on the top of Aithne's blaster.

"What are you doing, we have a job to do and need to continue it..." Was all she could get out when Abigail continued to talk about the technicians being unarmed as if that made a difference to the situation. It brought confusion to Aithne who stood there with a tight grip on her weapon and trying to understand.

Her eyes shook for a second trying to study the one with her before turning back to the others, her hand turned and fire on an alarm to the side of the room and sending a base wide alarm off, before speaking loudly to those inside.

"You all have five minutes to evacuate, I suggest you run out of here right now." She watched them not even question her, pushing past and trying to get out before something worse happened and leaving Aithne standing there trying to understand what she just did. The fact was this base needed to be destroyed and a cleanup team would arrive to subdue and deal with any survivors but now there would be those extras to be taken into custody with the other survivors.

It made Aithne glance over her shoulder at Abigail again and sigh.

"Come one, I have a mission to complete and now we only have five minutes to get out once the detonators are set."

She would get to work immediately, setting the charges on the generator room and emptying the bag that she had brought with her. It was a sizable amount of explosives, more than enough to detonate the reactor and take out the building. She was rushing though, clearly wanting to get out of there not that they had been seen and now that their jobs were pushed onto a shortened time frame. At one point she was talking, speaking to the cleanup team that was waiting for the fireworks.

"Call for extra support, you are going to have multiple combatants and non-combatants who survive the detonation. Events forced the alarm for the base off and those in there will be scrambling out now." She hoped that was all that she needed to explain, knowing she could further and better explain to her father when the debrief came to pass.

It was after all that that Aithne sighed and stepped back, looking at Abigail and reaching for the detonator to start the clock.

"Lets go, we need to get out of here."

The key portion to a successful enterprise was compartmentalization.

Never use the same people for the same jobs, or at least try to avoid it as much as possible. This time around [member="Koda Fett"] was sent elsewhere. Not to kill, but to... steal, in a way. Which was more than fine to Arage Bao, because while Vohaloveer was an annoying little chit, Fett? Was a scary little chit. She would never admit it, of course. Too frosty by half. The way that Mandalorian could cut through people, assassinate and kill without even an ounce of regret?

That went beyond her.

Even though she had no respect for the people they were murdering. There was still regret.

It didn't stop her from following through, because a course once set needed needed to be pursued utterly. That was the only way to get things done. "There are four there," The Commodore murmured, as she looked through the binoculars. Mav, three other faceless mooks and herself were on a nearby hill, overlooking the nearby farmers. There were about three other teams positioned around the place. Each of them had their own little role to play.

This one was strategic.

Fixed and professional. A far cry from the other operations they had done that was slowly pushing her (and others like her) forward in the hierarchy. "More inside. We drop them quietly, no kills." There would only be one death today, if she could help it.

"Stunners on. Questions?"

The mercenary let the loud closing snap of the needler's slide serve as his response. A rather neat little piece he'd picked up during his most recent visit to Terminus, he was actually eager to see if the weapon's applications would work as advertised. Almost to the point it made up for the silent snub Bao had leveled his way by sending Fett off on the more choice assignment while he was left with...

He glanced over his shoulder at the three goons the Humbrian had seen fit to saddle him with, not even bothering to suppress or even disguise his grimace as he surveyed them one after the other. Each managing to be more forgettable than the last. As if in the grand old color chart of sentient beings scattered throughout the galaxy, Bao had somehow taken the time out of her no doubt busy schedule (plotting coups and her own coronation as high lord muckity muck no doubt) to find the three mercenary personifications of beige to accompany him on this little kidnapping jaunt.

Sithspit, they made Fett look like the life and soul of the party.

"Just have the credits ready, darling." He chimed back softly as he rose from his crouch, squeezing off a shot into the first farmer that turned at the sudden source of movement tot his left. A second dart whispering through the air before the man even dropped, putting his comrade in arms in a similar slumped position a split-second later. Faceless-And-Nameless Mook #2 and #3 silenced the other two, leaving #1 to sit there looking pretty - Or rather, blandly. "Like the hooker said to the priest, this ain't gonna take long."

These farmers were just cover.

In fact, this entire farming homestead was one big cover operation for a particular cell of Humbarine Intelligence. A cell that had been working for her. Tacitly and off-the-books, of course, but still working for her. Until the Commodore caught wind that Overseer Melin had betrayed her. Was it money? Bigger promises that would lead to more opportunity? Arage wasn't sure. The only reason why she had found out was because even then there was no love lost between them.

Obviously she had put people in his cell.

Gave them additional guarantees, making sure that they'd be loyal to her above all. "Have you ever had your teeth knocked out, Vohaloveer?" She replied softly through the comms. Quiet approach punctuated by soft plops as the guards around the estate fell down one by one.

The security had already been muffled by her own people inside.

Melin wouldn't know what hit him.

"The admiralty board know you're such a flirt on the comms?" Mav drawled back lazily; his movements matching as he slowed to a purposeful amble. With the additional teams working in textbook concert to his own, the current approach was quicker than originally anticipated. Which meant they were about to become ahead of schedule; a dangerous proposition when you were expecting the doors to be opening just as you drew up on them. Even with Bao's agents blinding the cameras and sensors, only a blind fool would fail to notice a heavily armed gaggle of mercenaries lingering on their front porch for any length of time. "But if you're curious, you're more than welcome to take a personal inspection any time."

He flashed a hand signal to the trio as he spoke, motioning them to flank the house from the side while they waited for the doors to open. Picking them a spot that would provide a decent killbox for anything that unexpected tried to make a dash for freedom. A pointless precaution if everything was going to plan, but you didn't survive on the Outer Rim by taking needless risks.

"But I'm a classy guy. You'll need to buy me dinner first."

As if on cue, there was a meaty, solid tha-thunk of a lock shifting in place from the house and a halo-like outline of light shimmering around the edges of the entrance as it slowly began to swing open...

And like their arrival, it was also ahead of schedule.

Kark.

In this line of business there is no time for second-guessing.

It was too fast and too early, but what were they supposed to do? Hang around outside? Hope that they'd get a clear-cut signal that all was well? No. There was no time for that. So, while Bao agreed with Mav (a first for everything she guessed) they didn't have many alternatives. At the very least she went through the door first. She got immediately hit in the shoulder by hostile fire. From there everything turned into a mess. A mess of conflicting fire, screams and bellows.

Blood, scorching flesh.

By the end of it Arage found herself breathing heavily and out of tune. Spits of blood running down the glossy obsidian armor. But they had managed to capture half a dozen of of the operatives, including the Overseer himself.

The data was saved too.

And some of her own people implanted in the house were still alive. All in all it was a victory. The fact that amongst the data they found pieces of communication with Imperial loyalists? All the better. Apparently Melin had been play multiple sides. Part of his goal had been the destabilization of Cambria. From the looks of it he hadn't been the only one. Did he really think this would have served Humbarine? A planet in chaos just beyond their borders?

He didn't say.

"You can buy your own food, Vohaloveer." Arage said as punctuation. It felt like hours ago that he had made the quip, but even through the chaos and haze of blood? The Admiral would have the retort.

Alexander raised a brow as more came to him, a small voice speaking up in his ear and making him smile as he leaned forward.

The Data from the imperial outpost had been secured and they had called for additional support in securing the Imperial stragglers due to complications. That would be fine with Alexander, as it meant less blood on the republic's hands. A second operation had been conducted as well and he listened intently as the mission was detailed over comms and its success. A bit more of a mess but nothing was ever perfect. He did not betray a hint of knowing something though, instead appearing as the attentive and somewhat naive senator he was known for.

After all, only a fool would sit down in the streets and on the ground, talking to people one by one to keep them calm.

But that was who he was, a fool. He wore the mask well and danced to the tune he himself played, creating the puppet that people saw as a simple man with simple goals. His past with the GR being less talked about these days and instead he was talked about for his naive ways of handling people and situations... even if in the past he has shown a far different side on Camera.

For now he leaned forward, listening to the person infront of him and knowing that the day was going quite well.
