OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a powerful and stealthy light cavalry unit for the Draelvasier based on a pre-existing canon submission.
  • Image Credit: Dragon Lineup by Concept-Art-House
  • Role: Light Flying Calvary / Stealth Mount
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Uvak (primary reference source)
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Urasik Wyverns
  • Affiliation: The Bryn'adûl
  • Classification: Light Flying Cavalry
  • Description: The Urasik are Uvaks who have been mutated by Draelvasier genetic engineers, their muscular bodies growing to about 1.5 times their original size and brainwashed by specialized Seers to remove any previous emotional bonds with native riders.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Small (“Wings” of 5)
  • Unit Availability: Rare
  • Unit Experience: Veteran
  • Equipment: Basic saddles and harnesses
  • Combat Function: Serving as light cavalry compared to the larger Ra’mak in the sky and Brumaks on the ground, Urasik are most commonly used as portable high ground and transport for Shamen in uneven terrain or agile and stealthy mounts for Zealot Elite Squads to infiltrate enemy lines.
Strengths:
  • Sailor of the Skies: Despite their added bulk, Urasik are easily capable of keeping up with their Uvak forefathers. Capable of reaching maximum speeds of nearly 1,500 km/h in a dive and riding wind currents for thousands of kilometers without stop, Urasik are among the fastest and most mobile beasts in the entire Bryn'adûl bestiary, as well as one of the few that can take to the skies.
  • Stealth Mode: As Draelvasier engineers mutate Uvak into Urasik, the properties of their scales are modified so they reflect light and most radar frequencies, making Urasik completely disappear from basic handheld or platoon radars while appearing as only a small fuzzy line on more advanced sonar.
  • Flying Terrors: Urasik are far more than simply flying platforms, with razor-sharp claws and a jaw of massive fangs that can rip through bone like knives through butter. Their scaly bodies are nearly impenetrable to small-arms fire, requiring the punch of artillery and anti-tank guns to crack and shatter.
  • Terror of the Open Plains: While most at home in the sky, Urasik are by no means crippled when grounded. Their long, hard tails can serve as powerful clubs, while their legs can support a gallop of nearly 30 km/h.
  • Ever Faithful: With any previous bonds reset by Seers, Urasik are capable of developing intimate bonds with their riders through shared experiences in flight and fight. As their bonds strengthen, Urasik will become braver and more resilient, defending and attacking mercilessly on the behalf of their beloved riders and charging with unrivalled rage upon the deaths of their riders.
Weaknesses:
  • Light Cavalry: Beyond melee range, Urasik are very limited in their breakthrough capability, especially compared to the larger and far better armed Ra’mak War Beasts, their rigid scaly hides quickly faltering under medium and large caliber fire.
  • Pretty Bird Wings: The wings of the Urasik lack the thick plating of their bodies, and their soft leathery flesh is extremely sensitive to even minor puncture wounds. Even sustained small-arms fire can tear holes in the wing tissue, and if enough of the wing is shot out, then Urasik lose their ability to fly.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Shortly after the conquest of the Kesh system, the Bryn'adûl conquerors began their search for native species to utilize for their constantly expanding bestiary.

The native Uvak soon became a prime target for experimentation. Used by the defenders and later rebels in Kesh as powerful flying mounts, Draelvasier observers already knew very well their combat capabilities. However, there were two issues that prevented the Bryn'adûl from breeding ordinary Uvak for their war machine. First off, an Uvak could barely support a single Baedurin or Aeravalin loaded with armor and weapons, with a noticeable decline in range and speed. Secondly, the loyalty that many older Uvak retained towards long-dead masters prevented them from being effectively controlled by Draelvasier riders. As a result, genetic manipulation began to create a “superior breed”.

The proportions of the Uvak were expanded by a scale of roughly 1.54/1, giving it the boost in torso size, muscle mass, and wing length needed to support Draelvasier riders. Through the artificial application of dominance to a long-dormant recessive gene in the Uvak, their scales were modified to become radar-resistant, cementing their role as elite stealth cavalry. Furthermore, through the brainwashing of Seers, the loyalty of the older Uvak were reset, allowing Draelvasier masters to form new bonds.

The resulting product became known as the Urasik, the feared Draelvasier shadows of the sky.

Sorry for the wait! In reviewing this I have just one request, that you choose an alternate example in your wording of the Uvak's pain sensitivity in the Pretty Bird Wings weakness. I thought about it for a while but, since Chaos is PG-13, it's best that it is changed.

These guys are scary! I appreciate the creativity here and really do like the species you've made! Just use them wisely, since while they do sport the 2 weaknesses they still have quite a few strengths. I trust you enough to not abuse them.

Once the wording is adjusted in Pretty Bird Wings I believe this will be ready to go!
