PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Classification: Incendiary
  • Size: Extremely Large - Small, depending on extraction size
  • Weight: Average, density of ~6 g / cubic centimeter
  • Explosive Type: Incendiary
  • Delivery Method: Kinetic force (throwing, launching, deploying, etc.)
  • Effective Range: Personal
  • Area Of Effect: Personal (roughly 1.5x the size of the stone fired)
  • Stopping Power: Very High (though firepower differs by size of Magkast, its destructive potential is relatively high compared to similar sizes of other incendiaries)
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • None
STRENGTHS
  • Hot Stuff: When sufficient kinetic force is applied to chunks of the Magkast Compound, they soften into a liquid form very similar to magma, albeit one that is considerably hotter, reaching average temperatures of roughly 1500 degrees Celsius. As such, liquefied Magkast (also known as "activated" Magkast) is an extremely potent incendiary weapon that can cause third-degree burns on most species on physical contact and death by incineration with extended exposure. Activated Magkast can melt through a meter of most common metals and compounds in seconds, though its efficiency is reduced on especially thick or durable metals.
  • Simple Sequence: Magkast is fairly easy to utilize - all an individual or group needs to do is launch it at 30 km/h or faster, and it will activate within roughly a second of reaching such a speed.
WEAKNESSES
  • Hot Potato: While Magkast does have intense incendiary properties when activated, its area of effect is limited only to objects that have made physical contact with it and a very small area adjacent to it. As a result, extra care must be put into aiming precisely when using small quantities of Magkast.
  • Sludge: Once Magkast enters its activated form, it loses any aerodynamic form it may have had as a solid and creates large quantities of drag, giving it a much poorer range than most Draelvasier munitions.
DESCRIPTION

Magkast is the second project on which Zealot Elite Krarolk T'manu served on the engineering committee, in which a new incendiary was to be developed for the Bryn using native materials.

Early mineral and compound experiments around Dramedius Prime revealed that the high melting point and density of verikast gave it potentially powerful incendiary properties when melted. Application of lava was found to be the quickest method of melting the ore; however, it simply remained in a superheated liquid state and could not be safely put into weaponry. As a result, research was done into natural cooling and reheating of magma, with the studies coming to the conclusion that igneous rocks such as obsidian combined with the verikast could create a compound that could be both cooled into a relatively stable solid and reheated into a deadly liquid. With kinetic energy being its only stimulant, the new compound (magkast) was found to be very easy to use as well as easy to produce, with any planet with natural mineral resources and pits of lava or magma being able to produce very large quantities of military-grade magkast.

Krass Wyms Krass Wyms I did not realize that, thanks for the clarification. I changed the weight to a set variable based on density and reduced the size range to bring the rating balance back to equilibrium.
