Featured above: A well-worn Smasher War Hammer

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: War Hammer
  • Size: Very Large (2.08 m)
  • Weight: Extremely Heavy (20 kg)
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • None
STRENGTHS
  • Haha, bones go crack: The Smasher War Hammer is a devastating brute-force weapon whose power increases exponentially depending on the strength of the Draelvasier swinging it. In the hands of a physically fit Baedurin (a Draelvasier subspecies), the Smasher can turn entire humanoid-sized limbs into puddles of flesh and leave massive holes in all but the heaviest and most well-crafted infantry armor. Even armored vehicles are not safe, as a capable Draelvasier can break through up to 100mm of armor in several swings.
  • Inevitable Impact: Due to its considerable weight and the sheer size of the Smasher’s head, parrying the Smasher physically is nearly impossible without a weapon of similar size or construct. In fact, attempting to block the Smasher with a sword or vibroblade may cause the destruction of the opposing blade, depending on the speed and angle at which the two weapons collide.
  • Useful Utility: As a lightly modified industrial hammer, the Smasher is an excellent tool for clearing through blocked passages and escaping cave-ins.
WEAKNESSES
  • Natural Selection: While very powerful in the hands of fit Baedurin, the Smasher War Hammer becomes a weaker weapon in almost all regards offensively when used by other Draelvasier. For example, a fit Aeravalin may only be able to inflict 60% of the damage per swing that a fit Baedurin could perform, at two-thirds of the speed. Among the lesser Sraelvun, only the most distinguished Drones can use it properly.
  • Balance? I’ve Never Heard Of Her: Roughly 90% of the Smasher’s weight is in its head, making it extremely unwieldy in the hands of an inexperienced or weak user. Even once the Smasher has been mastered by a physically gifted Draelvasier, it is still considered a heavy weapon with a slow swing speed.
  • Blunt Force: As a hammer, the Smasher lacks the precision and penetrative power found on blade-tipped weapons. Consequently, it can be nearly impossible for even the strongest of Draelvasier to leave more than a dent on armor made from beskar or metals of a similar quality, as well as the thick armor of heavy armored vehicles and fortifications.
DESCRIPTION

Designed to provide an alternative to the sharp but small-bladed glaive, the Smasher War Hammer is a large and heavy blunt-force weapon.
The Smasher design was adopted from a common Draelvasier industrial hammer and modified to be even larger with an extended grip, enhancing its combat attributes. However, it also shares many of its industrial attributes such as its powerful blunt force impact and its slow swinging speed. As one of the heavier melee weapons in the Draelvasier arsenal, the Smasher is typically utilized by Juggernauts and Marauders while many lighter units utilize more precise weaponry.
