The Brethren is really less of a Corporation and more of a working organization composed of half a dozen different Pirates all of whom banded together for a number of reasons.
[member="Thengil Ri'Shajirr"], Aryn Spar, [member="Darth Vulkan"], [member="Blackthorne"], @Maahes all came together in a rare showing of true cooperation. They would work together instead of separately, sharing information, strength, and even wealth. The pirates came from all different backgrounds, though their resounding drive for further resources pushed them to come together. The key goal of The Brethren is simply to work together, to grow in power and gain the ability to raid and pillage on a grander and more tremendous scale.
The organization hopes to accomplish this through a simple method of organization. They are not a true faction or government, nor do they seek to be. Instead the Brethren are more of a cooperative, a guild of sorts that takes in members and moves them in ways that are necessary. Pirates within the Brethren share a protective status from one another, gain shared information, and have status within the organization itself.
The Brethren is not exclusive, nor does it have any true requirements, however it is unlikely the Brethren will ever become a massive force. In order to join the Brethren one must display their strength, gain the respect of the founding members, and contribute in some way to the cooperative.
Each of the members of the Brethren carry a token, a mark that one can show to identify themselves.
The Brethren was founded and created by it's original members as a natural evolution of the need for survival.
As Galactic Governments grow and get bigger the profession of piracy becomes more and more difficult. As planets band together under singular banners their resources grow, their defense forces become larger and tougher. Raiding becomes more difficult until it eventually turns into a suicide mission.
Naturally, as this trend continues, certain pirates find it more necessary to band together. Though such organizations have existed before and even attempted to organize, The Brethren is somewhat different in it's nature. While others attempted to band the pirates into a singular powerful force, The Brethren seems to simply link them in association. Within The Brethren there is no king, no one leader, and in truth no real direction.
The Brethren simply function as a way to band together if necessary, share resources, and perhaps target enemies once thought invulnerable.
