Tha'ga Temi

Minister of External Affairs for Hapes

A small prison had always been part of the Castle of Perg’Athra. Made of Hapan Basalt and quite impenetrable, it was normally used as a holding area for assassins before they were shipped off to the Rim Worlds like Shedu Maad with such navigational perils surrounding it that even if someone escaped a maximum security lock-up, they would have a difficult time ahead, including gravity wells and space debris with no access to hyperspace.

And while Tha’ga had roamed some of the palace before, with and without escorts, she’d never been to this specific wing - no need to really as a low-level administrator. And yet like so much of Hapan architecture, even the prison was appealing to the eye.

“The lights in here are strangely green,” Tha’ga said. Talking aloud calmed her jittery nerves. “Looks powered by a chemical rather than electric. Maybe that’s just a by-product of the generator.” The power grid was likely still being repaired from the sabotage and mayhem that had occurred on Hapes earlier that day.

Kyrel and Tha’ga still weren’t in chains or anything too restrictive, though they were still being guarded by four Chume’doro. “The entire enclosure is a Force Cage. This will make sure your First Order envoy doesn’t try any of that Ren voodoo.” She put an emphasis on “your” as though she was clearly unaligned with him. “But don’t worry, we just want you both to answer a few questions. Based on intel we’ve gathered throughout this ordeal, there are a couple of troubling aspects of concerning both of your visits today.”

Three of the Chume’doro left, and the Hapan who remained introduced herself as Lt. Herias. She pressed a button and the pair were sealed off from her by a green energy force field. Tha’ga’s heart pounded faster, but she tried to remain stoic, glancing at Kyrel to see how he fared.

“Feel free to sit and get comfortable. Again, this detainment won’t take long.”

The aftermath of the disruption that had taken place on Hapes was quiet. Kyrel had surrendered peacefully, but to say he would be getting out of this unpunished. He was stripped of his armor and his lightsaber. They were taken by the guards as both Tha'ga and Kyrel were escorted to the detention area. He had remained mostly calm. If he was allowed to go willingly with the guards to be detained and questioned regarding the events that took place. Knowing that he would be released soon with his possessions he was nowhere near as nervous as Tha'ga. In order to make herself feel better she felt the need to go on about the architecture of the place.
He had, however, calmed himself. He was going to get out, and he was sure Tha'ga was as well. The Consortium just wanted to ask him questions and he would give the answers the best he could. Escorted by guards, if he wanted to he could kill them right now. But that would only make matters worse, the best thing to do at the moment was staying as a guest, endure the interrogation, and live to see his plans come to fruition another day.
Stepping inside the cell, he nodded at the guard that was speaking to them. Sitting next to Tha'ga he placed a hand gently on her's as a form of comfort. Knowing that she would probably need it. He spoke in a soft tone unlike the cold and collected one he usually carried. "Everything will be okay. If they wish to remain neutral with the First Order. We will not be harmed I am sure of it. We won't be here long." He said running his fingers gently along her hand.

Tha’ga could not decide which worried her more - the strange containment in the Palace, or the fact that Kyrel Ren, her sister’s First Order contact sat down next to her gently and took her hand. Her brown eyes searched his dark ones. He looked different without his armor, but the Hapan redhead could not tell if she was afraid or attracted.

Lt. Herias paced in front of the energy cell, agitated and a little distracted. Kyrel would feel his Force connection severed. He was just a normal human as Tha’ga was a normal Hapan in the cell.

“We have surveillance footage of both of you. Tha’ga you’re an administrator here and apparently an heir to the throne,” she said brows raised, a slight chuckle on her lips. “We will look into that. Kyrel, Master of Ren. You are very far from home.”

She drew out what looked to be a hypodermic needle and said, “Hold out your arms. The energy shield will be down for thirty seconds so I can give you this."

Kyrel tried to send calm waves through the Force to her but strangely found that inside the place he couldn't feel anything. Not even the Force Signature from her or well from the guards. He found it odd at first to be cut off from the Force, but had learned from his time as a TIE Pilot and later on training amongst the Knights of Ren to find the Force as only a tool and not a crutch. If anything else he wasn't bothered by it. So he did the best thing he could do to comfort the young woman not used to such situations like this. Holding her hands tenderly and lovingly running his cold slender fingers across the delicate flesh of her's. As a gesture of affection and to let her know everything will be fine if she was with him.

The person that spoke to them had an air of authority to them. Like most of Hapes which was largely a feminist based society the most capable of the military was no stranger to women, the men not found in roles too often best seen as workers or the grunt force of the military. The smartest and most competent of officers were the women to which Kyrel didn't found surprising and had mostly said nothing as she spoke to the both of them. Instead holding out his arm for the needle and was quickly stuck in. Whatever was in it he couldn't say, nor could he use the Force to take away any effects it could bring him. All he could do was hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

All the while he soothingly held Tha'ga to him and spoke in her ear calmly to calm her down. "Shhh.. Do not be frightened. You will be home soon I will make sure of it." All the while still keeping an attentive gaze on the officer who he did not know the name of. Continue with what she had to say.

Unlike Tmoxin, Tha’ga was a completely different breed of Hapan, and at times she did not seem related to her sister at all. In fact, she was so afraid, that tears welled up in her eyes, a small droplet running down one flushed cheek.

Kyrel’s fingers were cold, but she welcomed the organic touch. The Ren Master did not flinch when given the injection, which surprised her.

“I-I don’t like needles,” she admitted. “Can I get some water, maybe? If not, I might pass out."

Lt. Herias rolled her eyes, and a crystal glass was procured, cucumber slice bobbing inside of it. Tha’ga gratefully took a sip and held her arm out too after rolling up her sleeve. She winced when the needle poked in. “What is this?”

Not a great question to ask after you’ve been injected with an unknown drug.

“It’s a truth serum,” the Hapan Lieutenant responded. “Don’t worry it’s safe. I just need to get a proper recording of your testimony today, and you’ll be on your way." Kyrel’s warm breath tickled her ear, both reassuring and unsettling, though she began to feel strange and tired. Her vision clouded, much like her night vision, and soon the blackness overcame what she could see.

And that’s when Tha’ga would begin to talk without remembering a word that she was about to say. When the pair awoke, they could not recall the interrogation.

Kyrel was no stranger to needles carrying various liquids. He had been experimented on so many times to get used to the feeling. To hear that it was a truth serum had not surprised him in the slightest, if anything else he remained expressionless. He had been through worse, he had almost faced death countless time to know that some Truth serum would be meaningless. If they knew why he was here, it would make no difference. He would still be leaving, the Supreme Leader had demanded his presence and to kill a Master of Ren, would be an act of war on the First Order. And all to have listened to the stories of the First Imperial Regime, the enemies of the First Order were swiftly crushed regardless.

But he had feared for Tha'ga, he did not wish to leave her in this place. Despite his feelings for her which was mostly the reason, he stayed with her, the blood of Vader flowed in her veins. She possessed the potential like that of her forefathers before her. He had wished to awaken her, to use that power to create a new Vader so to speak. To groom her to be his Apprentice so he could train her show her the true nature of the Force. The true nature that lied with the promises of power.

Now was not the time for that just yet, he held her hand firmly as she cowered, and within moments, his eyes felt heavy and soon darkness took him. He fell asleep peacefully, his head against Tha'ga's still clutching her hand firmly.

“Mother of Kwathhhhh,” was all Tha’ga could get out as the pair woke up from the interrogation. She felt as if she’d slept for a few thousand years like one of those helpless princesses in a fairy tale. Wiping her lips with the back of her hand, smearing her lipstick in the process, the Hapan turned her head to look at Kyrel who was still beside her.

“Whatever they gave us was really strong. I only remember us standing here, what seems like moments ago. But it’s as if an entire eon has passed.”

Her hands trembled, and she clasped them together to halt the shaking.

“I bet you have never met a more cowardly Hapan,” she said to the Ren Master with a musical chuckle. “It’s shocking.”

Like a nursemaid, Tha’ga felt the human’s forehead. “Are you okay? Do you feel sick from what just happened?”

The pair were alone - thankfully. And for some strange reason, she felt a warm bond with him, but perhaps this was just the kindredness of survivors.

The Master of Ren didn't reply as he awoke, still groggy he tried to concentrate on regaining his wits. The interrogation he could not remember, as if it was only a fleeting memory that was lost in the haziness of his mind. He kept her close to him, afraid that someone might snatch her away. Perhaps it was out of fear, maybe it was something else but he had a fierce desire to keep Tha'ga safe he didn't wish for anything to happen to her at all.

The woman before him he had felt attached to extremely, ignoring the guards cruel behavior, he had kept his hands wrapped tightly around the woman. Caring about her too much he lovingly caressed her skin as if to calm her down from any anxiety she could feel, he didn't wish for her to feel afraid to feel pain of any kind at all.

"Tha'ga when or if we do make it out I just want to let you know... I love you." He said finally confessing the deep feelings he had for the girl. Looking deeply into her eyes not holding back, as he gave her a soft kiss on her lips.

"Tha'ga when or if we do make it out I just want to let you know... I love you." As the Ren’s lips brushed hers, she closed her eyes and savored the kiss, but when they parted, she began to softly chuckle.

“Oh that truth serum did a number on you.” The Hapan brushed his dark curls out of the way, then lay her hand upon his jawline, fingers lightly stroking downward until she clasped her hands back together in her lap. “I fear you are not well, if you are spouting out such intimate revelations to a woman you hardly know.” Tha’ga noticed the silhouette of Lt. Herias striding back towards the containment area. Jumping to attention, instead of kowtowing to the woman, the redhead politician said something more in the line of her aristocratic upbringing, tone firm and clipped.

“That’s quite enough now, Lieutenant. I demand that you release us this instant. Our guest from the First Order is ill from the effects of the serum, and if it worked as if you needed it to, you would find that there is no treachery in our hearts to harm the Queen. This barbaric treatment of an outsider on our planet… if word traveled, you will be casting Hapes in a negative light and unraveling all of the proper work we do show the galaxy that female rulers are more civilized than to treat off-worlders this way."

If the drug had made Kyrel Ren groggy and love-struck, it succeeded in making Tha’ga Temi enraged and as demanding as her sister could be.

Herias cocked a surprised eyebrow, but nodded and pressed a button on the wall. The energy shield of the Force Cage between the Hapan, the Ren and freedom disappeared.

“We recorded all that we needed. You are free to go now.”

Helping Kyrel to his feet, Tha’ga asked, “Perhaps you should lie down for a bit. We could go to my family’s estate for a brief respite before you head back home. What do you say?” She thought once more of the kiss - as inappropriate it had been - and hoped he would say yes.
