Work was exceedingly busy and tiring. For several weeks life seemed to revolve around the same routine of rise before the sun, go to work, return after the sun had set, sleep, and repeat. Somewhere in the hectic pace of it all Daegon found time to eat, but little else. There was but one consolation in all of it,
Seraphina Corvinus
was never too far away. Even in the moments when work called upon him to travel, the Bacta Mogul and newly elected Viceroy of Thyferra was never too far from the one person who he did everything for. She was a princess, his princess, and the rest of his life would be spent proving that he deserved the affection of such royal status.

She gave it freely, despite Daegon's insistence.
Winning her hand had not been enough for him. One question had led to answer. Would you be happy with me? Daegon would work tirelessly to ensure his seraph could never say she was not happy. Yes, it was an obsession, but anything as pure and true as the love they shared was worth obsessing over. There were those who would say he kept her too close, or whispers that her leash was too tight. On the contrary, they simply desired a closeness, one which breathed life into an otherwise busy and monotonous existence for the executive.
Today was a reprieve from the break neck pace and unrelenting schedule. While Daegon would still count what was about to transpire as work, the change of pace and environment was appreciated. The confining walls of an office were replaced with the open air of his palace patio. The back courtyard overlooked a small pool which was fed by a calm brook which trickled down form the mountains which could be seen off in the distance. A variety of trees and plants lined the perimeter of the stone walkway which jutted off toward a raised deck comprised of the same stone as the main level. It was there a table sat overlooking the scenic view afforded the observer due to the location of the palace.
It was secluded, mostly, with an ornate crystal maze surrounding the ornate architectural wonder. Daegon was pleased with the home, but more so because Seraphina found it to be beautiful. The palace fit her, and she it. One did not take away from the other's beauty, in fact, they added to each other in a way Daegon could only admire.
A small table sat on the deck, an array of refreshments laid out impeccably. Atop the glass table sat a chess set. His guest was said to be an avid player of the game, quite the master strategist, and Daegon wished to put the theory to the test. It would prove a valuable tool at the very least as Daegon and Serpahina set out to become more acquainted with the Viceroy of the Siskeen system.
Derek Dib
was in interesting personality, and proved to be quite the contrarian when he needed to be. He commanded attention with every speech made in the Viceroyalty chamber, and the Corvinus' had taken notice of him right away. Being one that kept the best interest of his people at heart, the Viceroy of Siskeen had reached out negotiate a trade agreement between their two worlds. Controlling the bacta supply of the Confederacy of Independent Systems saw Daegon hosting many a similar meeting, though usually from his office. Had it not been for his own interest in the Viceroy himself, Daegon would not have invited the man into his home.

A message flashed across his datapad, pulling his gaze away from where Seraphina stood admiring the snow capped mountains off in the distance.
Their guest had just been cleared to land.
"Come my dearest angel, our guest shall be arriving soon. Perhaps this one we should greet in person rather than using the wait staff as our buffer?"
While posed as a question, it was truly a statement. Daegon closed the distance between he and his wife, offering his arm as the other hand motioned toward the direction of the landing pad where Derek was set to arrive at any moment.
