MEMBERS
  • Idrine - image - The daughter of Chiss colonists, Idrine is a smooth, level-headed woman who runs the Blue Devil Cantina with her brother Idemir. Her parents wanted a better life for them, away from the rigid society of Csilla. Setbacks and failed enterprises left them stranded on Nar Shaddaa. Her aptitude for business has allowed the cantina to flourish. She prefers to solve problems at the conference table rather than at the point of a blaster - though she always has one nearby.
  • Idemir - image - Charismatic, strong-willed, and intelligent, Idemir’s parents raised him and his sister to be well-mannered and respectful. His father and mother once ran a shipping industry. Sensing an opportunity to expand, his father took a loan from a Hutt, but he fell behind on his shipments due to piracy and a series of malfunctions on their freighters. Gorba the Hutt did not take failure lightly and demanded repayment. Idemir’s father tried to pay off what he owed, but the increasingly high interest drove him out of business. Around this time, Idemir’s mother became diagnosed with a rare mental disorder and her sanity began to fade day-by-day. Despairing, his father slowly withered away, before dying of stress. Idemir’s plans to leave Nar Shaddaa and become a professional swoop racer were dashed. He took care of his mother, while his sister ran the cantina - the only income they had left. Gorba the Hutt came around to collect what was owed, but seeing they barely had anything left to offer he proposed a deal. He would put their mother into a premiere psychiatric ward where she would be well taken care of, but in return he would hike up the rates on their loan repayment. Idemir took the deal, then looked for a job. There weren’t jobs on Nar Shaddaa that paid what he needed. Not legal ones. The young Chiss took his father’s charric, a mask, and hired a Mando girl who hung around the cantina along with a Corellian refugee. The trio stuck up a bank on the far side of Nar Shaddaa, came away with more money than Idemir had ever seen. A twinkle in his eye, the young Chiss knew he’d found a way to pay off the money his family owed Gorba.
Gear: charric carbine, charric pistol, great coat, blast vest, ammo bandolier, ion grenade.

[*]Elis - image - A Mandalorian war hero who served under Ra, Elis once held an entire building alone for five hours against the enemy, allowing the rest of her clan to escape. Fame proved fleeting. Within a few years, most forgot her feat. The Mandalorians returned to squabbling among themselves and then Mandalore got blown up by a terrorist supervolcano. So, Elis took some jobs on Nar Shaddaa as a merc on New Vertica. She spent her spare time at the Blue Devil cantina, which was where she met Idemir. Hot-headed, Elis shoots first and asks questions later. She and Idemir frequently argue as a consequence of this.
  • Gear: Mandalorian armor, jetpack, wrist blaster, wrist rocket, blaster carbine, frag grenade, concussion grenade, beskad.

[*]Dax - image - A refugee from the Corellian crisis, Dax ended up settling down in New Vertica - the only place on Nar Shaddaa that wasn’t overtly controlled by Hutt gangsters. He made a living as a bodyguard, but found the job boring. When Idemir asked him to join the swoop gang, Dax ditched the old gig. A perpetual cynic, Dax believes in helping out number one. The breaking of Corellia left a scar on his psyche and the chip on his shoulder seems more like an anvil.
  • Gear: Matching blaster pistols, blast vest, security blades.

[*]Sodrox - image - A Zabrak who served in the Republic military, Sodrox wound up on Nar Shaddaa working R&D at an arms manufacturer. The job was great, but the company went belly-up. Idemir found Sodrox five whiskeys deep in the blue devil cantina. Sodrox joined for the money, but stayed for the people.
  • Plastoid body armor, flamethrower, blaster pistol, detpacks.

[*]Nile - image - Also a Corellian, Nile’s family died during the breaking of Corellia while he was away on a field trip. When they tried to tell him, he ran until his legs wouldn’t carry him any farther. The kid joined a group of urchin cutpurses, learned how to run a game on pedestrians, but ultimately found himself at home when he had a speeder bike underneath him. He got a reputation as a phenomenal auto thief and was on New Vertica trying to boost a rich CEO’s exotic speeder when he got blown. Racing through the streets pursued by angry bodyguards, he bumped into Dax at the Blue Devil cantina. Recognizing one of his own, Dax took Nile under his wing, paid off the bodyguards, and got Idemir to allow Nile to join the gang.
  • Blaster pistol.

[*]Jaash - image - In another life, Jaash walked the path of a Jedi Knight, respected by all he met for his sagacity. Yet, while on a mission for the Jedi Order he was accused of a crime he did not commit. Namely, theft of a priceless jewel from the governor’s mansion and… other more heinous acts. Framed by a criminal he’d once put in prison, Jaash was tried and convicted. The Order, troubled by war at the time and wary of all missteps, deemed the evidence incontrovertible and banished him from the Order. Stunned, Jaash wandered the galaxy for a time. Bitterness seethed in his heart. He knew no other life but the life of a Jedi. At first he took on advisory roles for politicians and warlords, but the fall to darkness was a slow one. The years only made him more resentful toward the Order. He began to dabble in the Dark Side, until he finally gave in and accepted it. If they wanted to paint him the villain, then why should he deny them that? Once a friend of Idemir’s father, Jaash occasionally shows up to help out the gang in times of trouble.
  • Dark robes, blastvest, lightsaber.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Blue Devils is a swoop bike gang that operates out of the Blue Devil cantina on New Vertica. They often compete in the swoop races on the Bareesh circuits, but spend the rest of their time as stickup artists. They target the wealthy: bankers, CEOs, and other criminals. A fairly principled group, the idea of murdering a civilian would sicken most of them. They’re only in the game for the money and the adrenaline rush. Each member of the gang has their own swoop bike, with the distinctive red eyes and blue horns motif painted on the bike somewhere.
