The Gold Beaches of Corellia were considered to be one of the Wonders of the Galaxy. Eons of exposure to the breaking waves of the surf and wind manipulated the sand crystals into a soft almost flour like powder. This made the sand exhibit a highly reflective quality about them created by the gold mica-like particles of the shells of a vast number of aquatic arthropod species as well as microscopic organisms, primarily the douradea species of algae, mixed in with the pearlescent particulate of offshore coral reefs. The combination of these particles had initially given the Gold beaches their namesake as they resembled a gold powder.

The rarest of the golden beaches were originally the black gold beaches of the equatorial regions. The sand had a massive load of ancient volcanic silica. These were considered to be some of the most ancient exposed sands of the planet from a time long before the power of wind, and the elements smoothed ancient mountains and volcanoes down to the former soft slopes, mesas, and hills of the pre-Netherworld geology.

That is until the planet Lashtu was brought forth from another galaxy and melded with Corellia.

The end results saw the massive tectonic shift of geological plates, shoving ancient volcanic plates up from deep in the core. The result ended with the near boiling of the ocean, providing only a small remnant sea with jutting black spires and rolling black gold beaches more akin to dunes. Much like large oasis’, there are pockets of life that yet remain, but the most staggering revelation were the massive floating volcanic black pillars that now decorated the geographical site.

Arceneau Trade discovered that there were enormous amounts of electromagnetic interference in its upper levels. In the wake of the fracture and meld of Lashtu and Corellia’s distinct different gravities, unique anomalies resulted in the formation of many massive volcanic stone pillars across the remains of Corellia’s gold beaches. The pillars, which reached high above the beaches’ cloud layer were potentially broad enough to contain entire cities on the jagged volcanic earth and plateaus that topped them. They were riddled with cave systems, and were home to the critically endangered native Corellian wildlife and surprisingly, newly discovered deposits of minerals unearthed from deep in the core, revealing the reason for the gravitational anomalies; Isotope-5.

Gold Beaches of Corellia

Eons of exposure to the breaking waves of the surf and wind manipulated the sand crystals into a soft almost flour like powder. The beaches also exhibited a highly reflective quality about them created by the gold mica-like particles of the shells of a vast number of aquatic arthropod species as well as microscopic organisms, primarily the douradea species of algae, mixed in with the pearlescent particulate of offshore coral reefs. The combination of these particles gave the beaches their namesake as they resembled a gold powder.

These were considered to be some of the most ancient exposed sands of the planet from a time long before the power of the wind and the elements smoothed ancient mountains and volcanoes down to the late soft slopes, mesas and hills of the Pre-Netherworld geology.

They were originally located between Coronet and Tyrena.

Netherworld

The Netherworld event saw a mass disappearance of trillions across the 'verse. Nothing would compare, however, to the destruction that was wrought upon Corellia in the aftermath. In Akala's desperation to be reunited with her lover, her selfish experiment resulted in the Sundering of planets, releasing the energy she had collected to be the conduit of energy on the world.

The results were that the netherworld rifts sundered the two worlds, separating sections of Corellia and Lashtu only to mash them together. The cities crumbled under the weight of the burst of the Force, incinerating in a violent wave of light, resulting in the millions of deaths as the world's crumbled apart.

Corellia is now a broken amalgam of what once was Corellia and the former Yuuzhan Vong world of Lashtu. The broken halves tore against each other, the result producing a cracked remnant and a large asteroid belt, called Soccoro, Olys Corellisi for 'Scortched Earth'.The resulting surveys showed small pockets of biological life was still active in Corellia's remains, providing a foundation for terraforming.

Alric Kuhn, then CEO of Titan Industries, negotiated with the Wrath of the Dark Lord for control over the Corellian Sector. The agreement was made that it would be left under the purview of Titan Industries and no Yuuzhan Vong Technology would be brought over to it.

What that, Arceneau Trade Company along with Titan Industries have done a wealth of work and fundraising with Brightstar Industries to rebuild Corellia and bring it back to a fragment of its former glory. New terraforming technologies have been utilized to bring together slowly the broken halves. Former Employees of Titan, ( the Corellian Natives), came to work with Arceneau Trade in the wake of Alric Kuhn's original disappearance. Negotiations with former owner Tzavong Kraal have transfered former Titan properties under Arceneau Trade, with their former Corellian employees becoming employees into the Queen of Trade's company. This offered a cushion of protection for the Corellian people, allowing them more freedom to covertly plan and perhaps one day, liberate their home.

The Black Gold Beaches and the Sahsahlah Floating Mountains
Strangely enough, in the aftermath of Corellia's breaking the former site of Corellia’s Black Gold beaches featured enormous amounts of electromagnetic interference in its upper levels. In the wake of the fracture and meld of Lashtu and Corellia’s distinct different gravities, unique anomalies resulted in the formation of many massive volcanic stone pillars across the remains of Corellia’s gold beaches. The pillars, which reached high above the beaches’ cloud layer were potentially large enough to contain entire cities on the jagged volcanic earth and plateaus that topped them. They were riddled with cave systems, and were home to the critically endangered native Corellian wildlife and surprisingly, newly discovered deposits of minerals unearthed from deep in the core, revealing the reason for the gravitational anomalies; large amounts of Isotope-5.

Isotope-5 was a mineral traditionally only found on Makeb, and much like it was on that planet, Isotope-5 was the reason behind the particular unique atmospheric and gravitational conditions. Discovered to be a radioactive form of illerium, and named for the fifth known isotopic variation of an element normally found in neutron stars, isotope-5 has powerful warping effects on gravitational and electromagnetic fields even in minuscule quantities. The gravity-warping properties of isotope-5 were believed to be the cause of the atmospheric interference and the unusual floating mountain formations that hovered above the former Black Gold Beaches of Corellia. The deposits are only enough to affect this particular location.

Along with Isotope5, rescue crews in the deepest fissures discovered deposits of an odd red metal. Chemical tests confirmed that the substance was a variant of havod, with minor differences that defied analysis. Speculation as to the source of those differences ran the gamut from ancient Celestial intervention to the heat and stress of planet-breaking to the leftover effects of Akala's Nethermancy.

Whatever the reason, once refined the metal was stronger than usual havod alloy, which does not occur in nature. The new metal was dubbed Corellian bloodsteel. It has become a symbol of Corellians' lost homeworld and a desirable choice for weapons or starships owned by Corellians -- but it has also attracted the wrong kind of attention to Corellia.

Terraforming technologies through Arceneau Trade Company have managed to restructure and fuze together the broken halves of Corellia, although there is still much to be done and reconstruction efforts are continually underway. There is currently a biodome on one of the larger floating pillars, providing a base of operations for terraforming and ecological reconstruction, along with the continuous observation of Corellia’s endangered wildlife.

However, corporate mining here is not recommended, as the native Corellians see Sahsahlah as a symbol of survival against all odds. Many Corellians have taken to conducting a pilgrimage to Sahsahlah, with a few taking a bit of the materials or minerals to make personal tokens of remembrance for themselves.

Any mass corporate action to mine Sahsahlah may be seen as an aggressive attack on not only the
Corellians, but as a desecration to one of the final surviving remnants of Corellia’s past. This, however, does not halt the foolishly brave few who attempt to smuggle mining activities from under the Corellians or ATC’s radar.

Intent: To submit the Lore of Brokelia in the wake of the Netherworld Event.

Notice: Any use of Isotope-5 despite its presence in this submission is still subject to the restricted materials development thread for its use:

I'm stuck in a bit of a quandary here as I would prefer to focus the Restricted Material information to the actual planet sub for Corellia that you are working on but I cannot require you to fulfill that submission in order to pass this one.

What I can do is make sure that you are fulfilling all the requirements of putting RM onto the planet, since you'll need to anyways. This is the template from the Planet Outline:

  • Material: (which restricted material is on the planet/moon?) Mandalorian Iron/Beskar is no longer available for use on Codex planets.
  • Amount: (the amount will determine whether a dev thread is required. Think carefully and do not abuse what you pick.)
Small- Allows for unique items and cannot be mined for semi unique or above.
  • Medium- Requires a dev thread of 25 posts to have and may be used for semi unique or below
  • Large- Requires a dev thread of 50 posts or more (at judges discretion) and is for minor or below

[*]Intent and Reasoning: (This is the most important and can get the material taken away if not completed. Why would you like to have this material?)>
I assume by "moderate amounts" this means you're aiming for "Medium"

At this point and after reading through the two threads you've linked, only 1 post is directly relevant in one thread and the other thread is only 10 posts long. For a Medium amount 25 posts of dev directly relevant to the deposits/mines are required. At this point, I'll need you to fulfill the required dev to in order to approve this submission.

Very well.

This is a bit unorthodox in that I would be approving this location before the planet is approved with the new RM, however as the planet submission is presently active in the Codex and you have the proper dev, I feel we can make the exception.

Approved.
