The Birth Of Something Hideous

Nyx

Insert Hilarious Title Here
As Nyx limped across the deserts of Tattooine, she found herself cursing the stupidity of the cruel universe. The job had been simple: escort the Jawas to their sandcrawler, and collect some droids as payment. But, of course, the Tusken Raiders just had to get involved.
The Jawas now lay dead on the sand, along with the Raiders, and a sizeable amount of Nyx's blood. One of the Tuskens had winged her, and now she was bleeding to death on the Force-forsaken planet of sand.
As she felt her energy leaving her body, Nyx screamed her rage to the twin suns, her frustration at dying on a bunch of karking sand!
She collapsed on the ground, sand scraping against her skin. As her vision faded, Nyx felt some smugness at taking out the nerf-herders that had ended up killing her.

Nearby, a certain Miraluka's daily self-congratulation ritual was interrupted. In her cave, Darth Mordred's head lifted in interest as a blast of pure hatred emanated through the Force. The Miraluka wondered at the source of such a disturbance as she stood, going through possibilities.
Perhaps the Jedi sending someone to finally take care of her? No. No, that was far too much hate for a Jedi.
A Sith? Had they finally heard of the Great And Powerful Mordred, and decided to confront her? No, she had never let anyone live who knew of her existence.

Overcome with curiosity, Darth Mordred left hr cave, relying upon her Force Sight to lead her through the sands of Tattooine to the disturbance. And when she found it, she was very surprised by what she found: a young woman, bleeding to death in the desert.
The Miraluka briefly considered simply killing her and moving on, but then she decided that that blast of hate intrigued her too much. What had happened to this girl to make her hate this much? She needed to know the answer to that burning question!

She used the Force to pick up the girl, and walked through the desert to her cave, the floating woman behind her.

When she opened her eyes, Nyx was greeted by pitch black. For a moment, she thought that maybe she was finally dead, and prepared herself for eternity.
Then she heard the cackle fill the cave.

"Well, well. Look who woke up."
A light filled the cave as a small fire roared to life, and Nyx was faced with the strangest being she had ever seen. Her rescuer was a Miraluka, clad in a purple robe with a second black robe on her torso and legs. The hood was down over her head, and Nyx could see a lightsaber attached to her waist.
A Sith? She thought to herself, wondering what had motivated this woman to save her.
But Nyx's thoughts were interrupted as her rescuer came closer to her, lifting a bowl of something to her lips.
"Drink." She requested, but from the tone of her voice, the street rat knew that it was more of a demand. So she drank the bitter liquid from the bowl, coughing as it ran down her throat.

The Miraluka laughed as her ward choked, enjoying the panic in her eyes. She held all power over this girl, if she wanted it, her life would end. The rush that power gave her was exhilarating, and as she lowered the bowl, Mordred had to admit that she was beginning to enjoy the girl's presence.

But, she walked to the fire, depositing the bowl next to it, and called back:
"What's a hateful girl like you doing on this dump, anyway?"

Nyx

Nyx was taken aback by the question, and the tone in which it was spoken. She had expected that this woman would speak like a wizened master, as her appearance led one to believe. But, she had spoken much like Nyx would.

"Uhm, I was. . . On a job." She said slowly, trying to stand up, only to fall on her backside. Kark.

Her rescuer laughed at her attempt, shaking her head in amusement. "You took a mean hit there, girl. I don't think you'll be walking for awhile."
Mordred walked to her, and sat, crossing her legs. Finally, someone she could talk to! Someone she could espouse her greatness upon, instill her teachings to! Finally, with this girl at her side, she would truly claim the title of Sith, and destroy the Jedi!

But first, she had to. . .talk.

Mordred aimed her head so that it looked like she was staring at the girl, knowing it would intimidate her; though being blind, she saw only her signature in the Force. It was an interesting signature, mostly dark with light inter-spaced in there. That would have to be eradicated of she was to use the girl.

"Do you know who I am?"

Nyx

Nyx tentatively shook her head. How the kark was she supposed to know who this random Miraluka was?! She didn't exactly roam the streets begging for information on random women squatting in caves on karking Tattooine!

Mordred chuckled. Of course she didn't know. Those Jedi had suppressed all information on her! She knew that they were jealous of her power, of her prowess in the Dark Side of the Force! She would destroy all of them!

But for now, she nodded her head at Nyx.
"I, am the Great and Powerful Darth Mordred! The strongest Sith to ever roam this galaxy!" Well, technically, she wasn't a Sith, but her excitement at finally getting to tell someone besides herself how great she was negated that little detail. The girl didn't need to know.

Nyx simply nodded slowly. This lady clearly had a thing for herself; no normal person called themselves the 'Great and Powerful'.
"That's, uhm. . . Interesting?" She said quietly, looking for a way out of this. She was not staying here with this clearly crazy woman.

Mordred jumped to her feet, arms raised in the air. "There is none like me in this galaxy! Nay, in this universe! I am Darth Mordred!" She let out a burst of Force Lightning at the ceiling to accentuate her speech, giddy with excitement.
She looked down at the girl.

"Now do you know who I am?"

Nyx

Nyx looked in both fear and fascination as the cave was lit up by Force Lightning, the electricity dancing before her eyes. The pure power that radiated from Mordred at that moment overwhelmed her, and for the second time that day, Nyx thought that just maybe, she was about to die.

Mordred smiled in ecstasy as the girl's fear hit her senses. Not since she had slaughtered a tribe of Sand People to gain their maps had she felt such fear, and it pleased her on a level no lover ever had. The Miraluka lowered her arms, and angled her head to look at the girl.
"Now, may I inquire as to just who you are?"

Nyx was too stunned for a moment to respond, but eventually she managed to croak out her name. Her thoughts went out to Akartin, the Miraluka she had met on Narr Shaddaa. How were he and this woman the same species?! They were so drastically different! Akartin was thoughtful, kind, and never thought of himself. This woman was just about the opposite of that; loud, selfish, and full of herself.

Mordred smiled as the name hit her ears. Nyx? Interesting. Short, easy to remember, fun to say.
The Miraluka probed her mind, reading the emotions the girl was feeling. Confusion, desire, jealousy; such an interesting cocktail, to say the least. Mordred found herself more and more interested in this girl as she got to know her.
She kneeled down to her, and stuck her finger into the wound, enjoying the gasp and pained struggle she was presented with.

"Does this make you uncomfortable?" She asked. "Are you enjoying this as much as I am?"

Nyx

It was all Nyx could do to keep from screaming as Mordred's fingers twisted in her wound. For now, she simply squirmed and gasped, powerless to do anything against the Miraluka. Never before had she felt such helplessness, such abject fear. She could do nothing against this woman, just weather out the pain and hope she got bored.

Mordred soon grew disinterested in the activity, and withdrew her finger. She stood, and strolled to the corner of the cave, humming a tune to herself. Nothing like a bit of pain to get one going in the morning. Once she reached the pile of stuff, she withdrew an object and brandished it in front of the girl.
"This yours?" She taunted, twirling the sword in her hands. From her signature in the Force, Mordred knew that she'd gotten to her. This hunk of metal clearly held some significance to the girl, and Mordred so enjoyed her pain and discomfort. She held it with two fingers as far away from her body as possible.
"Why the kark would you use something so archaic?" The Miraluka questioned with disgust, dropping the ugly thing on the ground.
"Wouldn't you prefer. . .this?"

She drew her lightsaber, activating it's crimson blade as it lit up the cave even more than the fire. She pointed it at the girl, a smirk on hr face.

"Do you think your barbaric hunk of metal can stand up to this?"

Nyx glared at Mordred, hate filing her body.
Who did this woman think she was?! No one messed with her sword!

"Listen here, you-" Her barrage of insults was interrupted as the lightsaber flew forward, stopping a few centimeters from her throat.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk." Mordred chided, her self-satisfied smirk pissing Nyx off more than the lightsaber. "You should know better than to insult the woman with the big glowing stick of death."
The Miraluka kept the lightsaber there for a moment, then deactivated it, and sat down next to Nyx.
"So, tell me about yourself."

Nyx was flabbergasted at the behavior of this woman. One second, she was about to cut off her head, and now she was asking about her life? She didn't know anything anymore.
"Well. . . I'm from Coruscant, originally." She said slowly. The street rat then proceeded to tell Darth Mordred her story, the Miraluka listened intently, nodding her head every once in awhile.

"How very interesting!" She declared, rubbing her hands together. "Now, I have a proposition for you. . ." This was it! Now, she would become her apprentice, and together they would rule the galaxy!

Nyx

"You become my apprentice, and I teach you how to destroy all your enemies!"
Nyx blinked at the offer. Never did she think that a crazy woman in a cave would offer to teach her how to 'destroy all her enemies.' From what she'd seen, the woman was powerful, no doubt; but she couldn't help but think about Akartin once more. If she accepted this offer, then no doubt she would open herself to the Dark Side. And if she did that, she had no doubt that would lead to a confrontation with the Jedi. But she had known from the beginning that would happen. They were on two different paths, and they both knew it.

"What do you mean by 'apprentice'?" She asked after a minute of silence, much to Mordred's amusement. "Well, it would mean studying under me, learning from my greatness, and when the time comes, destroying the Jedi by my side."
Mordred grinned as she felt panic rise within Nyx; she knew Jedi. And from the intensity of the emotions showing, it was obvious she felt strongly for this Jedi. She could use that.

"You have feelings for a Jedi." She stated. "If you accept my offer, I will spare this Jedi. In fact, I will assist you in turning them."
Nyx was now between a rock and a hard place. If she accepted, she would Fall, and she could never turn back. But if she refused, she knew that she would not live to see another day.

So with a heavy heart, Nyx nodded her acceptance.

Mordred shot up with a squeal of happiness, clapping her hands together in giddy excitement. Finally! She had an apprentice! Now she was on her way to destroying the Jedi, once and for all!
She helped Nyx to her feet, and patted her on the back.
"Well, my 'apprentice," Even saying the word sent tingles of joy down her spine. "It looks like we have many adventures ahead of us! Like getting you a proper weapon!" She thought for a moment, then smiled as inspiration hit her.
"I've got it! Get your things and come with me!"

The Miraluka skipped out of the cave, leaving Nyx to scramble to follow her. She relied on her Force Sight to guide her to her destination, humming to herself as they traveled across the desert.
"Where the kark are we going?!" Nyx shouted in frustration, the sand getting in her boots. "You'll see, my pretty!" Came the answer, which did not satisfy her at all.

After what seemed like forever, they came to a ridge, and looking down, Nyx could see a Tusken Raider settlement.
"Alright, what now-"
Mordred's lightsaber glowed as she descended upon the Raiders, whooping in excitement as she left Nyx once more scrambling to follow her.

The guards on the walls of the settlement were having a quiet day. Nothing much had happened, and they were bored.
Then they heard the sound.
It was soft at first, then it became more clear as they peered out into the sand, trying to discern what could make such a din. And they spotted a silhouette against the desert, what looked like a woman waving something running towards them.

They called other guards over, and they all tried to figure out just who was approaching them. As she got closer, they figured out that she was screaming, and they all realized what she was about to do, and tried to bring up their weapons; but it was too late.

The screaming woman jumped over their wall, landing in their group with a sadistic smile on her face.
"Let's get started, shall we?"
What happened next was a flurry of red and brown as a struggle broke out, and the guards attacked with their staffs. But she let out a wave of Force energy that left them off balance, and easy pickings for her lightsaber.
Once the guards were a mess of limbs, she jumped down, facing the rest of the colony. Lightning danced as she whooped in joy as she charged.

When Nyx made it to the settlement, she found a smoldering ruin filled with corpses. She was flabbergasted as she walked though it, trying to find her master.
And find her she did, sitting on the body of what looked like the leader of the settlement, admiring something she'd taken from his tent.

Noticing her apprentice, she smiled and showed her maps.
"Now, for our first adventure, we will kill a Krayt Dragon for it's pearl!"

They spent the night at the settlement, Nyx staring at Mordred with an incredulous look on her face. The woman was studying the map, an intense look on her face.
After a few minutes, Mordred looked up and declared: "I cannot read this, for I am blind. Here." She handed Nyx the map. "Where's the nearest dragon?"

Nyx looked over the map, struggling to understand it. She couldn't even read Basic, let alone this Tusken poodoo.
"I have no idea." She declared, handing back the map. "I can't read."
Mordred sighed, rubbing her forehead under her hood. This was a problem.
What would tthey do, now? They needed tthe pearl, but neither of tthem could read the damn map! What to do, what to do. . .

They eventually slept, neither of them sure of what they would do the next day. When they rose, they had a quick meal of the Tusken's stores, then Mordred decided they would head to Mos Eisley. Chances were, someone there could read the karking map. With that in mind, the duo set out across the desert, Mordred relying on the Force to guide them across the dunes.

Nyx

As she and her Master trudged across the desert, Nyx realized that she was now a Dark Jedi.
She had a mentor, someone who would teach her to make all tremble before her. That excited heer, yes, but from wht she'd seen, she had the feeling that Mordred was a fan of 'extreme methods'.
Just a feeling.

The Miraluka herself was admiring the way the sun reflected off of her purple sleeve, and once more internally praised her impeccable fashion sense. Mordred felt that life just wasn't worth it if she wasn't honest to the galaxy about how great she was. Oh, the burdens of amazingness! Sometimes it made her wish she was a little less awesome, so that others wouldn't feel jealous. Then she would shake that ridiculous feeling off and keep prasing herself.

The duo kept walking through the sands, and eventually came to the outskirts of Mos Eisley. Mordred breathed the air in through her nose, and released it through her mouth in a content sigh.
"We made it! Now come, we must finnd someone literate!"
And she strolled in, her apprentice behind her.

If the people of Mos Eisley found the pair unusual, they did not show any signs. No one gave the Miraluka and her companion a second glance as they walked down the street, looking for someone to read the map in their posession.
But neither really had any idea what to look for; how would one know if someone could read a map? What did they look like?

After careful consideration, Nyx suggested that they go to the local cantina; all types could be found there, and perrhaps someone knew of an individual that could decipher the maps. Mordred agreed that this was an excellent idea, and the duo entered the establishment. Nyx was a frequent customer, and the bartender gave her a nod of greetings.

She approached the counter, and sat at a stool, ordering a drink.
"Hey, do you know what this is?" She set the maps on the counter, and he peered at them. "Maps. Look like Raider stuff."
He pointed her to a gentleman at the back of the cantina who used such maps frequently, and Nyx approached him, asking him to read the maps and explain them to her. She couldn't read, but symbols she understood.

Nyx

For a small amount of credits, the man spent the next hour or so explaining the map to Nyx and Mordred; though the Miraluka merely acted interested, for instead of listening she was fantasizing about destroying the Jedi, like she usually did. Oh, their pathetic screams as she cut them down filled her with such joy-

"-and that should do it!" The man finished, handing the map back to Nyx. "You should be able to follow that map to the core and back."
Nyx thanked him for his time, and both her and her Master got up to leave the cantina. They rented a room for the night in the city, and Mordred decided it was a good time to instruct Nyx in some basic Force techniques.

"This is stupid."
Mordred sighed as her apprentice made her disdain for the act of meditation very clear. Mordred had gained her power through twenty years of meditation, and to hear this girl bash it made her a bit angry.
"If it's stupid, it's only because you don't understand what you're doing." The Miraluka took a deep breath before her monologue.
"Meditation is not just about sitting there with your eyes closed. It's drawing upon your inner emotions, and letting them flow through you. It's about drawing upon your hatred, your rage, and learning to control it, to draw upon it when you need it."
Mordred stood as Nyx thought about her speech, and prepared herself.
"Do you feel your hate?" Nyx nodded, her eyes squeezed shut as she grit her teeth. "Good."

Mordred then unleashed a torrent of Force Lightning upon the girl, making the girl scream in pain as she fell back, squirming as the electricity ran through her body. The Miraluka laughed as she felt the agony radiating from the girl, and slowly felt her rage build up. Good. Now, she just had to wait on her apprentice's next move.

Nyx

Nyx screamed in agony as she felt the lightning arc through her body. The attack had taken her by surprise, and now she was experiencing pain on a level she had never experienced. Between her screams, she tried to figure out a way to counter-attack, but felt only pain.

Then she felt the dam flood a bit too much. Her pain, her hate, her fear, it all came boiling out, and she felt those emotions all combine into one: rage. Every cell in her body exploded with rage, and her scream changed. Instead of conveying her pain, her terror, now she let out a scream of pure rage.

Nyx sprang up, her eyes filled with naught but hate, and she charged through the lightning, grabbing her Master by the throat. Mordred couldn't be happier. Her apprentice's Force signature radiated pure hatred, and the power emanating from her body in that moment took even the Miraluka by surprise. But she laughed around the hand on her throat, as the rage left Nyx's eyes and she collapsed, exhausted. Her apprentice now knew how to tap into her Force Rage.

When Nyx awoke, she could see the signs of last night's confrontation in the room. She couldn't believe the power she had felt last night, when she had let her hate out. The lightning didn't affect her, and she had lain a hand on her Master. As she felt the power of the Dark Side flow through her, Nyx knew that she could never go back. From now on, she was truly a Dark Jedi.

Mordred noticed that her apprentice was now awake, and stood from her meditation. "So, our prodigy rejoins us, hm?" The Miraluka stretched her arms and back, her bones creaking as they popped. "Are you ready to head out, my apprentice?" Nyx nodded, and gathered her things.

The pair left Mos Eisley, and headed out to the dunes beyond, Nyx navigating them to their destination. They trekked for hours in the desert, occasionally stopping to shelter themselves from the oppressing heat. Mordred was giddy at the prospect of getting to fight a krayt dragon, and she had plans for that precious pearl. Finally, she would take the first step to real power!

The Miraluka followed her apprentice, her Force Sight illuminating the girl's path. Finally, they came to the entrance of a large cave, and Nyx gulped at the sight of the huge tracks leading to the mouth of the cave. She turned to her Master, and asked a simple question: "What's the plan here?"

Nyx

Insert Hilarious Title Here
Mordred scoffed.
"Kill the krayt dragon. Duh."
Nyx sighed and rubbed her forehead in frustration.
"What I mean is how do you plan on killng it, exactly? Krayt dragons are a bit tougher than Sand People, you know."
She couldn't believe that her Master planned on taking on a krayt dragon without a plan. She was now convinced the Miraluka was completely insane.

And she was more right than she knew.
"Relax, I've seen Tuskens take on these things before. Thay may be archaic savages, but they have some useful hunting techniques, at least." Mordred gave a short laugh. "Live on this dump for twenty years and you pick up some things, girl."
Mordred could see the dragon's Force signature, even from here. It was small for a krayt dragon, but still huge compared to them, of course. She couldn't be more excited for this moment. After twenty years of mediation and isolation, she was finally on her way to real power!
Nyx grunted in acknowledgement, and slowly drew her sword from it's sheath on her back, not even bothering to get her blaster. She knew it was useless against this beast's armor. She could only hope that Darth Mordred knew what she was doing here.

The Miraluka in question held her lightsaber in hand, but did not yet activate it. Instead she strolled up to the mouth of the cave, a smirk on her face. Mordred reached out with her mind to that of the krayt dragon, and transferred a jumble of emotions and signals that constituted a challenge to the hulking beast. And she was not dissapointed as a deep and powerful roar filled the air as the dragon lumbered out.
Mordred activated her lightsaber's crimson blade, and raised it at the beast.
"Here we go."

Shiv sat in his foxhole with a sand colored blanket over him as camouflage. Why? In short; He was bored, and he supposed that blasting a few Sand people might brighten his day. Though in retrospect, he should have picked a spot farther away from the Krayt Dragon cave. Either the Tuskens were too afraid to go near it or they had some religious principle regarding the lizards' area. Whichever one it was, those howlers weren't showing and Shiv was getting bored.

Not bored, (Or stupid) enough to attack the Dragon however, as the two women were now doing.

"What the frell?" Shiv said as he rose from his foxhole a bit. These women were mad, Kryats could swallow whole speeders yet they were charging it with that toothpick forcies call a saber and some simple knives. They was as good as dead, force or not. However, Shiv always had a soft spot for the fairer sex, and if they could kill it, it would bring some honor to Shiv...

"Stang," Shiv said as he rose from his defensive position. If they could get the thing out, he'd distract its attention with his heavy repeater. Saying a quick prayer to some deity, he held his rifle at the ready.

"How many idiots does it take to piss off a Krayt Dragon, apparently one hot woman and a crazy Sith... Oh, and a Mando too it appears." He looked at those that would face up against the thing while he had been dealing with a tusken problem himself. Something about them raiding moisture farmers and what not but when he saw the army that was slowly buildin up around the Krayt Dragon's nest he was more than curious about it.

He had a few others with him, a squad of ten from his shadow Legion. They were all standing around and he sighed as he looked at them and they at him. "Well, i killed a Leviathan once, how hard can a Krayt Dragon be..." It was a fair point... except this thing had no restrictions on its movement and was not in a place where Solan would be able to jump into an allies arms... no, instead there was a Sith, a woman he met once, and a Mandalorian. "Shoot me next time i get the urge to help someone, got it?" He smiled as he looked at the man to his right and moved over to a speeder. "Anyone stupid enough to help, we got some pretty women to help and a not so pretty Mando." With that he kicked the speeder into full speed.

Mordred let out a whoop of joy as the krayt dragon took a swipe at her, using the Force to leap out of the way of it's large claws. Her excitement bled through her presence in the Force as she landed on the sand, and called back to her apprentice as the dragon came farther out of the cave to get her: "You know, girl, I could use some assistance!"
Nyx snapped out of her shocked trance, and cursed loudly as she pulled one of her blaster pistols out of it's holster and snapped off a couple shots.
"You're karking insane!" She screeched at her Master, rushing closer to try and draw some attention off of Mordred. Then she saw the Mando rise out of the sand, and aim his rifle at the dragon, and she heard the familiar whine of a speeder. She turned to find it, and saw a man in it she vaguely recognized.
But she wouldn't question the assistance, and Nyx simply nodded at them as she fired at the dragon's eyes, drawing it's attention.
"Oh, sithspit. . ." She muttered as the krayt dragon roared at her, and her Master laughed. "Better run, girl!"
