- Exploration AND Transportation: An older vessel from an older time that has been updated, and heavily modified to be a Light Transportation vessel that performs a secondary function as an exploration vessel. Due to the many systems, subsystems, and packages aboard the vessel, it can be used as a Space Faring vessel, just as much as it can be used underwater, or even in Lava Flows. Allowing this ship to in theory, travel anywhere. Want to see and study a Singularity that has shown itself in the Core? No problem. Want to go underwater and swim with the fishes? Easy. Want to go through a lava flow to enter the center of a volcano? Done. This ship can do it all!
- Namesake: Name the first image you think of when the word Turtle is spoken. A reptile with a unique ability of having a shell that can protect it from predators. This YV-560, aptly named "Big Puffer" is named as such due to its appearance, as well as high defensive rating. Matching that of a Turtle, and named after the Puffer Turtles. Sporting Massive defensive systems in which provide the best possible chance for Explorers to... do what they do best within the safety of a ship. Should one want to go outside of the ship to see it themselves, various deployable domes and fields can be applied to protect those who are close to the ship. Such actions as making a Dome of breathable air around the ship so that special gear is not required, or even shielding systems to get up close to a Star with a Space Suit is possible.
- Dodge-Ball: Sporting a rather stout engine and movement system, this allows the vessel to get in and out of places that the crew wish to explore. Otherwise, in the inevitibility of combat, the ship can rely on is extensive defenses as well as its speed to survive a host of situations given.
- Hit them Back: Unlike other Freighters, the Big Puffer doesn't have much in the way of weaponry. While its average in power and capabilities, it is severely underclassed against other vessels that are meant to take down ships of its size. While it has two ball turrets in which can aid in taking down ships, they are just Laser cannons. Any kind of conventional shielding system can quite easily defend against anything this ship could throw at it.
- Not as Small as you Like: Even as a Freighter, its much wider and consideribly "thicc" compared to other possible exploration vessles. As such, getting into places that one may want to explore could cause the ship to become stuck or trapped. Requiring extensive measures to remove said reasons for being stuck.
- Bulky Turtle: Like its namesake, the Big Puffer is actually very heavy for a ship of its size. Having so many systems, exploration measures, and even usage of some heavy materials to aid in defensive systems, this causes the ship to be heavy when landing. Landing down on sheets of ice, unstable rock, or what have you, is an extremely dangerous move and could end up with the ship being in a situation it would not want to be in.
As a man who wants to see the galaxy, just as much as he wants to explore it, Ra'syn, as a newly inductee of the Je'daii Order and given the rank of Journeyer, had come into possession of an old YV-560 Light Freighter. As with many ships since the 400 year plague, have crashed or become found upon Kro Var, the man had taken to scavenging pieces from these ships, repairing the ship, and installing all new systems. Making a ship that would be better suited for his task of going through the galaxy, performing his tasks as a Je'daii to complete his Journey, as well as further into his career as a man of the force. Wanting to learn more and study all that he can. Hosted with a wealth of exploration gear, and otherwise transportation technology, the ship named after a species of Turtles, Puffer turtles, is well on its way to being not just a cutely named ship, but one that can "swim" across the stars.
