Name: (The) Bedui
Designation: Sentient
Homeworld: Bedali (To be submitted)
Language: Baey
Average height of adults: 1.27 meters (About 3' 2'') when standing straight.
Skin color: Dark grey
Hair color: Orange-red
Breathes: Type I

Strengths:
Prehensile feet: Evolved for a lifetime in the trees, Bedui have strong prehensile feet,
Intelligent: Bedui are known to be extremely quick learners and often very resourceful.
Agile: Born to travel the jungle canopy, Bedui are extremely agile.
Powerful arms: To compensate for their stubby legs, Bedui have long and disporortionally strong arms. A healthy Bedui is usually capable of comfortably hanging from one arm.

Weaknesses:
Small: In exchange for their agility, Bedui are small and somewhat frail compared to most humanoids.
Short legs: The Bedui have short, stubby legs. Great for manuvering through the canopy, or using their prehensile feet as a second set of hands, but awful for running or walking. Therefore Bedui cannot walk properly- they can squat on their legs, but any form of quick movement must be done on all fours.
Prone to surface parasites: As well as their long fur, Bedui secrete a natural body oil that seems to attract parasites such as fleas and lice like moth to a flame.

Distinctions: The Bedui are usually chartreized by their long fur, ape-like face, hunched over statue, and prehensile feet. Older Bedui are often known to develop rather pronounced potbellies.
Average Lifespan: 70-90 years
Races: Not really any separate races.
Diet: Omnivorious- mainly fruits and insects. Meat can cause digestive issues.
Communication: Mainly speech, but hoots and howls are used to emphisize, or as explicitives.

Culture: The Bedui usually travel in troops, groups of six or seven families, with no formal leaders. They have no official holidays or rituals, but they do have beliefs: in the spirits of their Homeworld. Many of the younger generation of Bedui dismiss the thoughts of spirits or their ancestors living among them, t, but most still believe in them- in finding the lost spirits, and a new home.

Technology level: On their home planet The Bedui's technology was restricted to simple tools. However now most Bedui have learned the galactic standard of technology, as they tend to travel the galaxy in a nomadic fashion. The average Bedui traveling the galaxy can operate basic ships, tools, et cetera- though most prefer to avoid high technology when possible.

General behavior: The Bedui are often very curious beings, quick to explore and analyze new things. They also tend to form very secure bonds with eachother, even going as far as to adopt very trusted individuals into their troop. Family is immensely important, and considered the greatest bond in life.

History: Originally The Bedui had a simple existence in the jungle canopies of their home planet, Bedali. They had no strict leaders, only simple family troops that wandered the canopy in search for food. Their religion was simple; the belief that spirits roamed the jungle, some malevolent and some kind. When a Bedui died it was believed that they would live again with the spirits, roaming the jungle as the deceased saw fit.

Eventually, other sentient life came to Bedali. Originally, The Bedui did no bother the Humans and vice versa- however the settlers needed to build farms... so of course they cleared jungle to make way for farms. They needed building supplies, and wood was readily availble, so that was harvested as well. Within years cities began to rise up, as more and more settlers arrived to colonize the new habitable world of beuatiful scenery and tropical climate. And to make room for their cities, more jungle had to be leveled. Rivers had to be filled. Through the decades the cities got too large to rely on import alone. Factories were needed. More jungle was cleared, huge factories created secreting noxious smoke into the atmosphere.

With the planet being slowly destroyed, it's jungles destroyed and it's airs poisoned, The Bedui belived their spirits had left. Had left for a cleaner better place, where trees were not fell and the skies were not poisoned. So, eventually, the Bedui left as well. Using ships taken from the humans, a necasary evil, troops of Bedui took to the stars in search of a new home, a place simple and clean. Now dozens of troops of Bedui travel from planet to planet, searching the galaxy, occasionally preforming in curses of becoming traveling merchants to fuel their ships and feed themselve sin the mean time. With every generation though, the hopes for finding a new home grow frailer.

Notable Player-Characters: To be made
Intent: To make an interesting species to roleplay. Also because I like Orangutans. >.>

Races: Nearly every troop of Bedui could be considered a different race, due to minute differences such as fur length, but said differences are not notable.
It would be subspecies not race. Much like with tigers - Tiger is the species and for instance the siberian tiger would be the subspecies.

Otherwise, good submission. :)
