Ages ago, in times of archaic conflict between clansmen, long before the modernization effort that seized the galaxy swept through Galidraan, the smallest of the clans, Sinclair, suffered horribly. Loss was something they had grown accustomed to, their history marred in bloody battles that saw their men slain and their women turned to widows, and soon married off to the victors. Yet, what the clan lacked in physical prowess, it made up for in the natural affinity coursing through the full-blooded veins of its women, the bloodline producing a number of powerful shamans who would devote themselves tirelessly to the deities and fae of their faith. Day in and day out, these women labored in their devotion, dedicating their flesh and blood to their gods with the hope a boon or stroke of good luck would be bestowed upon Clan Sinclair so they might endure the hellish devastation they were faced with, and better support the largest clan who they had allied themselves with: Clan Barran.
Synopsis
"A beast I am, lest a Beast I become."
It came in the night, years later, the first son born to the clan in decades with the full-blood of Sinclair flowing through his veins. The fae invoked nature's fury when they reached to touch the boy's brow, and as he grew, nothing seemed different about him. Yet, when the time came and he was called to fight their enemies at nineteen, what set him apart became apparent. The flood of adrenaline through his veins spurred a terrifying transformation the likes of which none had ever witnessed. He became more beast than man, invoking the wrath of the Morrigan, and flew across the battlefield, easily outmatching the strength of ten men and enduring wounds which should have slain him- or so the legend goes.
The years to follow saw Clan Sinclair rise as a prominent group in the wars, even managing to achieve victory on their own here and there without the aid of their allies. It was soon after the fifth generation that the legend of "The Beast of Galidraan" faded away, lost to time, as none had been born carrying the blessing in disguise. Stories and songs were passed through the generations, handed down as a means to frighten children into coming inside when the sunset over the Highlands.
The Wolf lay dormant, unneeded for the time. Yet, as modern war threatened Galidraan once again decades later, the incursion of The Sith Empire and the division amongst the natives stoked up a furious conflict that lasted for years. The second-born son of Octavia and Arlan Sinclair, Lachlan, was found to possess the gift. Discovered when the full moon forced a shift beyond his control at the age of eighteen, Lachlan terrorized the countryside against his will, and the legendary Beast of Galidraan rose to infamy once more.
Unsure of how to control it, he found isolation the safest bet, exiling himself from his peers in order to protect them as he mastered the curse, learning to cooperate and live alongside the magic coursing through his veins- weaponizing them to his advantage. He was captured one fateful night in 868 ABY, and his identity was revealed. Thus, he rejoined society, and now serves the Galidraani Free State and New Imperial Order, wielding the legend as a terrifying weapon against their foes.
