If she were to be entirely honest with herself, Alva was not someone who would have ever expected that she would have taken on apprentices to teach. It wasn't that she doubted her own capabilities, however, it was just that when it came to teaching . .the force to others. . .her own world's teachings were rather unorthodox. Of course before all that she had some time she supposed. Time during which she would teach said apprentices more practical skills that sadly many force users considered mundane and not worth putting effort in, and any who claimed to have such ability and technique without putting the effort in were trash to be ignored as one ground them into dust beneath one's heel.
For example, while many may claim to have studied some form of martial art or physical combat training, very few actually seemed to have a decent memory of their time training. The same seemed to go for any training regimes that put a Jedi or Sith in the middle of the wilderness to learn to be able to survive if they were stranded. It was especially irritating to hear the stories of people lucking out all alone in the middle of an abandoned planet and then still being able to overcome a stronger opponent who was able to take care of themselves properly. So at the very least Alva was going to make certain that her apprentices had least had the proper training to support the claims of their basic abilities being well practiced.
Although maybe starting the group on Felucia was a bit extreme, considering the amount of violent wildlife that inhabited the jungle world below. After all there were rancor, acklay, giant poisonous spiders (yes she knows they have a proper name but who cares when they are giant poisonous spiders!?), and even a sarlaac here and there if memory served from her record checking on the planet. Dantooine might have been a better choice, especially since Kinrath and Kath Hounds were dangerous enough opponents that had killed even a few jedi knights and Mandalorian Warriors in the past.
Dantooine was far too populated though, at least more so than Felucia, and the farming ventures there meant that her apprentices could stumble upon a food source that was quite recognizable all too easily. Besides, they at least weren't being sent out alone. All three of her current apprentices would be going out on the trip, but little did they know that a "Sith Lord" would be breaking up their training exercise to test their limits, abilities, and also their ability to resist the temptation to the enemy's side. Alva was going to score them diligently over this, even though she wasn't going to be present herself. Thankfully, a TIE Phantom was ready in reserve to check in on the apprentices while cloaked to keep her updated.
All they had to do now was get her students rolling. So without further adieu the former princess of Crina would turn to the trio in the shuttle with her as the sights of the alien fauna and flora could be seen out of the viewport beside them. "We'll be touching down momentarily everyone, I know this wasn't quite what you expected for your first training exercise, but I'm not very fond of running before one can walk. Before we get into heavy studies for enhancing your abilities with the force I plan to make sure you know basic skills that will make you much more versatile and capable opponents for anyone you have to face down the line. By the time we're done you will all proudly know how to wield a variety of weapons, handle an array of environments if you're ever stranded, and know some nifty fighting and political techniques that will get you around the galaxy with little issue. . . . . Since we'll be landing in a second and there's not much time I'll make the apology quick. Sorry for starting you out on Felucia, I know its a bit harsh, but I also want you to learn camaraderie, you have allies and likely will in large battles as well in dangerous zones like this. Learning to fight with people you don't know without getting in each other's way is another thing I want you all to learn. Nonetheless, you've all been given some basic kits. Reading the manual wouldn't hurt, especially for anti-venom needs. Hopefully you find the Stormtrooper Corp's combat manual helpful as well. They specialize in fighting in any location, including places like these. The survival log should be helpful, because you only have food for four days and you'll be staying here at least a week, or however long it takes you to reach the extraction point. Be careful of the acklay ok?"
Hopefully they would make it to the extraction point. Although in reality what would be awaiting them after fighting through the jungle for nearly a week would be a Dark Jedi playing the role of a Sith Lord and some burning wreckage setup to look like he annihilated the transport and the team sent to collect the apprentices. They would time the explosion of the prop shuttle when the stealthed Phantom's pilot gave the all clear that the apprentices would be in view of the smoke column.
