The Basics Include Rancor Hunting

If she were to be entirely honest with herself, Alva was not someone who would have ever expected that she would have taken on apprentices to teach. It wasn't that she doubted her own capabilities, however, it was just that when it came to teaching . .the force to others. . .her own world's teachings were rather unorthodox. Of course before all that she had some time she supposed. Time during which she would teach said apprentices more practical skills that sadly many force users considered mundane and not worth putting effort in, and any who claimed to have such ability and technique without putting the effort in were trash to be ignored as one ground them into dust beneath one's heel.

For example, while many may claim to have studied some form of martial art or physical combat training, very few actually seemed to have a decent memory of their time training. The same seemed to go for any training regimes that put a Jedi or Sith in the middle of the wilderness to learn to be able to survive if they were stranded. It was especially irritating to hear the stories of people lucking out all alone in the middle of an abandoned planet and then still being able to overcome a stronger opponent who was able to take care of themselves properly. So at the very least Alva was going to make certain that her apprentices had least had the proper training to support the claims of their basic abilities being well practiced.

Although maybe starting the group on Felucia was a bit extreme, considering the amount of violent wildlife that inhabited the jungle world below. After all there were rancor, acklay, giant poisonous spiders (yes she knows they have a proper name but who cares when they are giant poisonous spiders!?), and even a sarlaac here and there if memory served from her record checking on the planet. Dantooine might have been a better choice, especially since Kinrath and Kath Hounds were dangerous enough opponents that had killed even a few jedi knights and Mandalorian Warriors in the past.

Dantooine was far too populated though, at least more so than Felucia, and the farming ventures there meant that her apprentices could stumble upon a food source that was quite recognizable all too easily. Besides, they at least weren't being sent out alone. All three of her current apprentices would be going out on the trip, but little did they know that a "Sith Lord" would be breaking up their training exercise to test their limits, abilities, and also their ability to resist the temptation to the enemy's side. Alva was going to score them diligently over this, even though she wasn't going to be present herself. Thankfully, a TIE Phantom was ready in reserve to check in on the apprentices while cloaked to keep her updated.

All they had to do now was get her students rolling. So without further adieu the former princess of Crina would turn to the trio in the shuttle with her as the sights of the alien fauna and flora could be seen out of the viewport beside them. "We'll be touching down momentarily everyone, I know this wasn't quite what you expected for your first training exercise, but I'm not very fond of running before one can walk. Before we get into heavy studies for enhancing your abilities with the force I plan to make sure you know basic skills that will make you much more versatile and capable opponents for anyone you have to face down the line. By the time we're done you will all proudly know how to wield a variety of weapons, handle an array of environments if you're ever stranded, and know some nifty fighting and political techniques that will get you around the galaxy with little issue. . . . . Since we'll be landing in a second and there's not much time I'll make the apology quick. Sorry for starting you out on Felucia, I know its a bit harsh, but I also want you to learn camaraderie, you have allies and likely will in large battles as well in dangerous zones like this. Learning to fight with people you don't know without getting in each other's way is another thing I want you all to learn. Nonetheless, you've all been given some basic kits. Reading the manual wouldn't hurt, especially for anti-venom needs. Hopefully you find the Stormtrooper Corp's combat manual helpful as well. They specialize in fighting in any location, including places like these. The survival log should be helpful, because you only have food for four days and you'll be staying here at least a week, or however long it takes you to reach the extraction point. Be careful of the acklay ok?"

Hopefully they would make it to the extraction point. Although in reality what would be awaiting them after fighting through the jungle for nearly a week would be a Dark Jedi playing the role of a Sith Lord and some burning wreckage setup to look like he annihilated the transport and the team sent to collect the apprentices. They would time the explosion of the prop shuttle when the stealthed Phantom's pilot gave the all clear that the apprentices would be in view of the smoke column.

Ikki was listening to her master as she was explaining where they were going and what they were going to be doing while she dressed for the environment they were going into. Her small headband holding her bangs out of her face and she slid the straps of the krayt dragon top with its small clasps and buckles secured leaving her throat and mid section exposed to the light in the room. The two cybernetic fingers she was working with while tapping them on her small shoes as she was shining and cleaning them. Her skirt going to her mid thigh as she let the gunbelt along the top secure it for her with utility supplies and extra spindles of wire.

She secured the net launcher on her hip while she looked in the mirror for the cabin and the small energy blade from her master for use as her maid and bodyguard came. She was thinking about a few things before grabbing her gloves and sliding them onto her hands as they gleamed with the small spindles of wire.SHe was moving and had a small equipment pack created for their use The small trip while she went to join and be ready to head out had her standing there at her full height of four foot nine inches with her little maids outfit on before she offered a bow and smile allowing the energy blade to rest across her back. "I am ready."

She watched out the viewport of the imperial transport as her new master, a bitter word that, gave them pointed advice. Daedel had to admit, dropping them on a violent jungle world with next to nothing other than a few manuals, rations and their weapons of choice was exactly the kind of instruction she had hoped for. She turned her nose away at the apology but the rest was both exhilarating and in tune with the natural cycle of life. If they survived they would gain strength and better themselves and their future students. If they died they would make way for those that were stronger and their weakness would die with them. Harsh? No more so than a mother rancor sending her brood to hunt for the first time, it wasn't harsh. It was necessary.

She checked the small laces of her tunic and skin boots before slipping her simple boiled leather armor over her slender torso. Her brown eyes like drops of caff in pools of cream evaluated her gear with meticulous care. She belted her thick belt firmly over her dark gray trousers and pushed on the sides to ensure it rested comfortably on her hips. She pulled her dagger from its sheath on the belt and replaced it with a satisfied 'hmph' and then checked the imperial issued blaster on the opposite side. She knew next to nothing about blasters but expanding her knowledge was the point of this expedition. Finaly she pulled back her thick black hair and tied it in place before grabbing her small pack. Her dagger, maalraas bone, had saved her more than once and she hoped with that, as well as her experiences living on Dathomir, she could face all this world had and more. She slipped her hatchet through a snap loop at the small of her back and moved toward the door before looking at the other apprentices and then her...guide along "The Way" and spoke as the first apprentice had.

"I am ready as well."

Raijin was thoroughly enjoying this, and he hadn't even started messing with the students yet. Blow up an old scrapped transport? Fun as hell! Chase some of the bigger animals away from the landing zone? Yessir! Test the durability of the sarlacc that'd been sitting there? An entertaining waste of grenades, anyway. He stood up from his camp on top of one of the larger mushrooms, strapping his kit back onto himself. Over his normal riot jacket and combat pants, he was wearing some fake Sith robes with a hood to cover his wing-ish antennae.

He thought he looked like an idiot, especially considering how much robes weighed him down without actually providing any armor. If he'd had eyes, he'd have rolled them. At least these apprentices probably wouldn't catch him, and if it came down to a direct confrontation, he had Inazuma with him. The perfect weapon to scare the hell out of people with. If you didn't run the other direction when you saw a three-foot lightsaber blade coming towards you, you either didn't believe in self preservation, or you were seriously overconfident.

At any rate, even though it was bending (and possibly breaking) the rules a bit, Rai was determined to help these apprentices through their little training exercise as much as he could without making himself obvious. Even though doing the exercise Felucia had been his suggestion, there was no need to be cruel, right?

Arthan Corvax or "SC-4486" stood to the side, He was slightly grumpy that a camping exercise turned into some hokey religion training test, He hadn't even realized until then that he was force sensitive and was still shocked to find that out. So there he was, about to spend a week in the hellish environment called Felucia, He was no stranger to hellish environments and survived them well because he had had all of his gear, but come to find out, His gear was considered a cheat cheat, He stood there in some sort of survival outfit which consisted of a sleeveless tunic made of a leathery material with a black undershirt beneath it, He was also wearing some sort of cargo pants and combat boots, his gear were those basic kits that [member="Alva Calvarona"] gave them, He had also brought a large two-handed curved sword and a pistol with limited charges.

His maroon hair kept sticking up all over the place and it just would not stay down, His yellow eyes darting nervously all over the place, especially at the two other apprentices that were here, they had probably known they were force sensitive for a long time and probably had more experience in the arts of the Force, He finally pushed past all of his nervousness to say a simple "Ready"

Nobody get's to go on a force training mission without me!

Marius had sat in the back of the shuttle and listened carefully to the briefing the Instructor, Knight Calvarona, gave.
A survival exercise. On Felucia of all places. The thought of the hellish planet being a place to begin learning the ways of the force was somewhat daunting. Marius had only recently been inducted into becoming an Imperial Knight. Still though he pursued the Storm Corp manual given to them. He had initially joined the storm troopers and had been placed in one of the 'Elite Guard' units protecting some useless dignitary. When his cousin Caius disappeared oh so many years ago it had left him as the remaining Flavian among the the Imperials. He had no political clout nor any of the connections to get into a real position of power. It wasn't until a OS assassin successfully killed his charge that he realized that he had a connection to the force. Once that had happened he was administratively moved to the being initiated into the Imperial Knights.
Marius wore a simply tunic and utility trousers. His boots were the ones he had been issued for his storm trooper armor. He ran a hand through his black hair now lsightly grown out past regulation and took stock of the other apprentices. The Storm Commando was an officer, that very fact alone gave him confidence in some sort of leadership among them. Along with the man's previous training made him ideally suited for this sort of mission.
A young women who wore some barbaric looking clothing came across as some one who was confident in her abilities as well as that look of having seen some things. That alone made Marius feel slightly outclassed. He knew that his own abilities in the force were raw and hardly tamed.
The other woman in the shuttle was someone who had seen before often in the company of Princess Calvarona. Whether or not it was good thing that she was here didn't matter much to him only that she was a known and capable warrior.

Marius would put faith in the training he had received as a storm trooper to keep a level head, still though he had so much to prove in being here. What surviving here would take team work just as much as their own personal abilities.

Gear: Dagger, Hatchet, Blaster pistol.

She glanced at the other trainees briefly and appraised them with a biased eye. Males tended to be inferior of mind and would need to be protected, that would complicate things. The other woman was underdressed but had good bone structure and sharp knowing eyes, which would lift the burden from Daedel slightly in the jungles. She checked her equipment again and tried to convince herself she was not beginning to feel nervous over the coming ordeal. Her stomach felt like it was filled with flutterbys as she moved toward the hatch that would deposit them on the world below.

She had not seen a city or any settlements from the porthole at which she had taken position previously and she knew they would be on their own. With great skill the pilot guided the ship passed fungi the size of trees and settled them into a clearing. The greenish-gray moss that made up the clearing floor was too soft and dangerous for a full landing so they hovered as the hatch opened. The roar of the engines filled the air as the repulsors sent a downdraft at the mossy ground that blew out around the ship in a steady wind.

She leapt from the door and ran a few meters from the entrance, the blaster which she carried was in hand but held like an adder ready to bite and despite her belief that she was more skilled than the men the safety remained on as she tried to cover the others while they debarked. Purple grasses and fungi in more shades than she had words to describe them filled the tree line. Flying creatures left the trees in a mass flock and flew to the north away from them. Anyone would know they were there now, and if they were smart they would get as far from the landing zone as they could while they had light. In the dark there was no saying what would come out. A distant roar seemed to punctuate her thought as she knelt staring through the jungles. They were not alone here…she could feel it.

Gear: vibroblade; rope; canteen; back pack with four days worth of supplies; water purification tabs; Blaster Pistol

As the shuttle came down to the landing zone Marius made ready one last time by checking his gear over. With everything fastened appropriately he got up to deploy. As the ramp lowered Marius got a strong wiff of the environment. A myriad of odors wafted into his nostrils, while his mouth could taste the difference of the atmosphere, his lungs felt the environmental change. Marius followed the brown haired woman who had boldly leaped out of the shuttle first, landing onto the jungle floor after her. The earth was firm where he landed and the the first thing his body began to do was perspire as the warmth and humidity of the jungle hit him.

'Acclimation is going to be a challenge unto itself' He thought while taking in the scenery.

Like Daedel, Marius also took note of the many flocks of creatures taking flight from around them. He found awe in the sight of such creatures all flying as one group. Still the military side of his mind immediately began to scan the area and thought of the best way to secure the LZ. That line of thought was abated as he had to remind himself that this was not a deployment of a storm trooper unit where the support and resources were available. This was their drop off point and the objective was survival.
A distant roar of who knows what made it's self known, it was loud enough though to be heard over the shuttle and that made it difficult to judge it was really distant or just close but being drowned out by the noise. "Perhaps it would best we made for higher ground after the shuttle leaves?" He suggested to the brown haired woman.
Marius drew his vibro blade and kept the pistol holstered. With a limitation on ammunition he decided it would be best to save it as a last resort or as needed. He kept the blade readied and looked back over his shoulder at the other trainees with anticipation.

GEAR: One basic survival kit with supplies and possible medical resources, One big-ass two-handed curved sword, one blaster pistol, one pair of fresh underwear.

SC-4486 debarked after one of the trainees and observed the woman who had leapt out of the shuttle first, a woman presumably of Nightsister origins, he was unsure of this but from what he knew, she probably thought him inferior, Well she was wrong, He was a Storm Commando, he was in one of the most highly trained divisions of the Empire, It was not just a title, it was a fact, He was also one of the only trainees who had bothered to bring something that even resembled a lightsaber, one of the things that force users would use, He noticed that one of the other trainees had a vibroblade on hand.

He took a strong sniff at the felucian air, it was humid like a jungle, but instead of dense trees, there were thousands upon thousands of assorted fungi, what was in those fungi, he had no clue, but he knew there were things like rancors and acklay, and he was sure that they would encounter them one way or anothers, He heard one of the trainees make a suggestion about going to high ground and added to it "That would be a good idea, but we should find shelter against the environment." He said, This was going to be an interesting time.

Gear: Sanctum Wires, Sanctum maid outfit, Net launcher, gunbelt with supplies

Ikki was remaining silent as she listened to the others and kept her hands in front of herself. Slowly thinking about some of it and what they could all add to the group while she appraised them... and wasn't entirely certain what to make of them. The Woman looked dangerous but like she was from some tribe, another with a vibroblade and what looked like a lightsaber while they were talking. She kept her hands in front of her while she was walking around them letting her natural ability to be the smallest in the room work for her advantage. Sound would attract creatures and she knew some of the creatures weren't going to be impressed by that blade. "If we are going to move we should do it before the creatures come."

Gear: vibroblade; rope; canteen; back pack with four days worth of supplies; water purification tabs; Blaster Pistol

Marius gave a nod acknowledging the storm commando's suggestion "Right then, I'll head up this direction and assess the area." He spoke while pointing to a hill on his left.
He began to walk and ascended the incline while keeping a wary eye on the surrounding. A number of a mushroom like plants that were the height of pine trees. The air was thick, humid, the taste of spores was irritable. Another roar could be heard in the distance. The sounds of reptilian creatures could be heard along with the sound of thousands of insects buzzing around.
Marius reached out with the force. The vibrancy of all living things was an astounding feeling. It was almost overwhelming. As he walked he calmed his mind and sorted through the myriad layers so interwoven here. There were stories of how the jungles of Felucia responded to the force left him to wonder what impacts they would witness here.
'Best to remove these thoughts of doubt or wonder and focus on the task at hand otherwise I'll be useless to the group' he thought as he climbed on to the fungi. Its soft structure was remarkably able to support his weight. After getting up to a reasonable point part of the mushroom gave in and his arm went inside the fungi. "Well great" He cursed quietly under his breath but began to look around. Thankfully this particular mushroom tree wasn't deadly. Or well he hoped it wasn't.

The first thing that struck Marius was the panoramic view showed nothing but jungle for miles. To the east it was extremely dense and looked dark and gloomy. The north wasn't to much different than the east but with the exception of mountains in far distance. In the west there looked as though there was a river cutting its way through the jungle. It was not as gloomy but certainly seemed to more traversal able. In the south had hills and foliage seemed low lying in comparison to the other directions. Of course this was the initial look. He would have to consult a map to figure out which way would be best to head. Of course now he had to get down. He took one more glance around and in a controlled manner fell from the mushroom stalk and landing on his feet and hands.
