- Midas & Associates Bank
Bilbringi, Neutral Space
Bilbringi's history was... an interesting one. Hidden behind a protective layer of asteroids and home to renowned and respected shipyards, the planet was a very difficult target to assault. Despite of that, its strategic value had caused it to be the sight of several major battles in galactic history. It was a world mostly known for its industry, but the security it gained from its large asteroid fields, also made it the perfect place to store things people would want to keep hidden and safe.
One such establishment that existed on the planet, which catered to wealthy collectors and politicians in nearby systems, was an institution known as Midas & Associates. Certainly not the run-of-the-mill bank, M&A preferred to keep its business away from public attention, due to its rather exclusive clientele.
Unfortunately, even an institution as secure as this one, wasn't safe from the prying eyes of those who were interested in the treasures it held within. The kind who would have no qualms about... repossessing certain objects that caught their attention, by whatever means were convenient, even if those means were less scrupulous.
So it was that it came to the attention of a certain Eternal Empire, that a certain stone tablet had been recently acquired by a collector and this object now came to rest within the armored vault built beneath Midas & Associates' business venue. For reasons that the Eternal Empire's leadership would rather keep to themselves, it was decided that the acquisition of this tablet was of the utmost priority and it was to be done with all due haste and by any means necessary. So a plan was set into motion.
Problem was, the Eternal Empire was an organization known for its military and not for its skills at pulling off criminal activities. Sure, they could probably throw enough artillery shells at the building to convince its staff that it would be better to just let them have what they want, but doing so would also draw them into a war with the local planetary authorities that they would prefer to avoid for the time being, not to mention that they might also damage the very item they were trying to acquire. This was a job that required finesse, not a planetary invasion, the kind of finesse that a different kind of professionals was capable of. Luckily, the Eternal Empire was on fairly good terms with exactly the kind of people they needed. The kind of people who wouldn't turn down a lucrative business transaction.
The Eternal Empire's leadership reached out to the interstellar crime syndicate known as the Black Suns, with a simple proposition. If the Black Suns were willing to bring along a few of their trained professionals, the Empire had a way to covertly and safely get past Bilbringi's asteroids and defenses, in the form of one of its subspace cruisers, the U-431. Big enough to transport any equipment and muscle necessary, along with having enough cargo capacity to basically store the entirety of the contents of M&A's vault, the ship would also bring along any firepower that would be needed, in the form of its own agents and mercenaries and at least a few Force wielders. And its EWAR capabilities could also prove useful at obfuscating local law enforcement for at least a good while.
In return for helping the Empire acquire that one tablet that they were so interested in, the Black Suns were welcome to help themselves to everything else inside that vault, from precious artifacts, to secret documents containing useful dirt on a number of politicians and businesspeople and maybe even a few patents and schematics for things that several companies throughout the galaxy, were very keen on keeping out of any hands other than their own. The message was sent out via secured channels, detailing the Empire's proposals, along with a set of coordinates to rendezvous with the U-431.
Aboard the vessel, which was silently parked at the designated meeting place and hidden under its layers of cloaking tech, the Eternal Empire's best and most intrepid, waited...
