Private The Bad Kids

Amani snorted, "I can only imagine. I'll gladly take doctor work over managing government any day." That was a task she did not envy, even if most of the politicians at the forefront of those efforts had done little to earn her respect. Aside from one, "My boyfriend is a senator, actually. Even just hearing what he has to deal with gives me a headache."

Nida's fluster at her own excitement was dismissed with an assuring wave, "Don't worry about it. I'm glad you're so interested in getting started." They could use as much of that as possible right now. A fact which resonated even more clearly with the zeltron's next question.

"Dedicated healers?" Amani stood there blankly for a moment, pursing her lips, "Well, there's me… and there's Iris Arani Iris Arani … and that's about it." Just saying as much aloud brought a different perspective to their short-handedness. She shrugged sheepishly, "There are other Jedi who have at least a little skill in Force healing. Sometimes we might bring them in if things get particularly bad, but as for actual healing specialists, that's uh, about it." At least the only ones that were consistently available to offer aid.

"Once the temple is officially reopened, we're hoping to send out a call for reserve Jedi across alliance space. Summon them back to the temple and get a better inventory of our resources. Healers included. Hopefully we'll get a few bites. But in the meantime," She gave Nida a soft, playful punch across her shoulder, "You're number three. Welcome to the team."

Nida's hand rested against her chin as Amani recounted the Alliance's cache of healing Jedi. Fortunately, they seemed well funded when it came to supplies. Just not well stocked in skilled healers.

She chuckled awkwardly when Amani bopped her shoulder with a lighthearted fist.

"I certainly hope that we'll be able to recruit more. Combat is important, but we can't be running ourselves ragged. Perhaps we can host some classes?"

The Silver Jedi had a robust group of healers, but their order had also become rather isolationist by the time Nida had returned to the galaxy proper.

"Ah, truth be told I would much rather take a blown aorta or rectal fissure over politics." It was an awkward subject for Nida considering she'd assassinated a Senator. Amani seemed to have good instincts, so she was hopeful that her boyfriend didn't have a secret slave dungeon. "Which system does your boyfriend represent?"

"Mm. I've been thinking the same thing. Even if we could just impart the most basic level of healing to the others, it'd be great for our workload." Let the padawans patch up their own minor spills, and let the healers focus on big issues. It would do everyone a little good.

"Heh. You can say that again," The fact that politics could be messier than a job that involves intermittently being covered in blood and other bodily fluids was impressive. And disappointing. "Oh- Alderaan," Amani flashed a grin, "Alicio Organa. He actually just took on the role after his cousin- the Queen- stepped down." They were proverbially big shoes to fill. She couldn't imagine dealing with the stress firsthand.

"Yeah," Amani laughed awkwardly. Thus far she had managed to stave off much involvement with the royal side of things. As exciting as it was, the prospect also made her a bit nervous.

"It's a beautiful planet. I've only actually been once, but, we plan to get out the more if we can ever find the chance,"
Jedi Healer and Senator were both time consuming jobs. Thankfully, it meant they both were working on Coruscant anyway. "He helped oversee the construction of this sanctuary city there. Big place for a lot of the galaxy's refugees to find a new home. It's really amazing," She gushed over the thought for just a moment, "That was where we got together."

"What about you? Do you have… someone?"

"A sanctuary city." She smiled along, heartened by Amani's genuine excitement. "That's just wonderful."

When the question was reflected back to her, Nida paused, a tinge of magenta brushing her pink cheeks. "Yes, I'm engaged. My fiancée Thirdas is from Midvinter—we met there, actually. I was visiting the temple and I…tripped over horse excrement and fell into the snow. Thirdas helped me up, and we've been together ever since." The dreamy smile on her face twitched slightly given that was a lie, as they'd been separate during her time as a Sith. But Thirdas had never given up on them.

"It doesn't come up often, but his father Thurion is the King of Midvinter. Technically, that does make him a Prince." She chuckled lightly at the realization that both she and Amani were dating royalty. The similarities just kept on coming.

"He's was a ranger with the Silver Jedi, too."

Amani beamed at the news, stifling a quiet chuckle at the story behind their meet cute. Knowing some extent of what Nida had experienced, it was reassuring to hear that she had that support through it all. And if the look on the Zeltron's face was any indicator, they were quite happy. "That's amazing! Congratulations!"

Not only that, but it brought about yet another commonality between the two of them, which Amani recognized at the same time, "Mine's technically only a Count," She sighed as if it were a genuine flaw, pulling her lips into an exaggerated frown. She was very clearly joking; If anything, dealing with the nuances of royalty was a compromise rather than a perk. It had never been the reason that she fell in love with him.

"There's just something about the healers they can't resist, I guess," Amani broke back into a smile. She was aware of Midvinter's royal family, but had never had much of a chance to actually become acquainted with any of them in her time with the Silvers, "But really, I'm so happy for you. You deserve it."
