The arrival of Baniqii, the Nightmare

((R-ping as Arlex Baniqii))

In a dark corner of a forgotten archives unit in the belly of coruscant, mounted on the wall in its housing unit, was a block of carbonite. Two meters tall, a meter wide, and one hundred entimeters thick. On the side where the moniter unit was keeping the carbonite frozen were three lights. The blue light indicated that the temperature of the carbonite was within the desired peramiters. The green light indicated that power to the system was sufficiant to maintain the block in its frozen state. The third light was red, indicating a system failure. The blue and green lights were lit and the red light remained dark. Its remarkable how long a well engineered technology can last so long, but everything has its breaking point. Several hundred years after the unit was activated the green light began to pulse... slowly at first and then faster. The red light blinked on and stayed lit. After several hundred years hidden in the dark recesses of the archival unit a rat had finally found its way to the main power cable of the housing unit and chewed into the line. Soon, maybe days, maybe weeks, the pwer would fail and the block would cool. The carbon would begin to vaporize and the contents would be freed.
Six weeks, four days, thirteen hours, twenty-two minutes and nine seconds after that rat chewed the line the green light finally blinked out of existance and the red light began rapidly pulsing. The blue light began pulsing and a stream of carbon smoke began to collect on the floor, dissapearing down the grated vent below. After another day, there was no more carbon. Held by straps and a slight backwards leaning angle, was a red skinned, tribal tattooed sith. With its final measure of power the housing unit unclipped the straps and tilted itself out at a near fourty five degree angle, spilling the man onto the floor. The impact on the floor seemed to drive life back into the man who began coughing and wheezing. After perhaps and hour, maybe two, the man was on his feet and walking. His eyesight was completely gone at the moment, so he relied mostly on feel, and slowly, teasingly the force returned to him.
The man wandered for a day and a half through darkned or unlit tunnels miles below the surface city of coruscant.by the time he came to a well lit area his eyesight had fully returned. Week with hunger he found his way into a access shaft for a building and crawled towards a pinpoint of light. He crawled for hours, maybe even a whole day before the light source came into view. It was a grate, suspended in the cieling, with people walking over it above him. It was a full meter above his head, haf a meter out of reach and bolted to the walls. Reaching deep within himself, to a half remembered sensation, he dipped his mind in the tidal wrath of the force. The man held up his hand, palm upward. Jerking his hand down and clenching a fist, the grate on the wall crumpled into a ball and slammed into the ground, cratering the duracrete. A fraction of a second later a man who had been about to place his foot on the grate, fell through into the opening. He fell the three meters to the floor and bounced slightly. No one else came. No one looked into the hole, the flood of poeple just moved around the grate and ignored their fallen camrade. With gesture in the force the fall man slid over to the sith, who began searching his body. The sith was wearing only a loincloth so he took the mans clothes as well. Afterwards he inventoried his new belongings. One blaster with three spare power cells, one vibro-knife with ts own sheath, several hundred credits and a pack of death sticks. Arlex Baniqii tossed the death stick aside and was dismayed to find that while the clothes of the man had fit relatively well, the shoes had been far to small for his feet... oh well.
Stepping beneath the hole he crouched slightly, enfusing his muscles with energy from the force and jumped up to meet the knew world above him...
