The ArmaTech Proposal

Preshea Lake House
Lake Country
Naboo
Leaning back in her chair in a rare moment to take a break, she looked over to her schedule. There had been many meetings already dealt with in that day alone, and still more to come. She barely had enough time before the door opened as the protocol droid stepped within. Its mechanical voice breaking the silence in the room as it offered a half bow.
"Ma'am. You're next meeting has arrived."
With a quite nod, she slipped from her chair, moving towards the door as the man was showed into the room. Lady Preshea offered a slight nod of her head before motioning towards the empty chairs that sat across from the desk she had just been. Slipping away to the side, she moved towards a cabinet, opening it before she returned to her seat.
The protocol droid shut the doors behind it, then awkwardly shuffled to the cabinet as Lady Preshea composed herself. Her pale icy blue eyes falling upon her guest.
"May I offer you a drink before we begin our business?"

I walked into the room of the owner of Preshea. Naboo’s lake country was always nice so I had decided to take this meeting personally. If nothing else, I could spend a day or so relaxing in the lake country after a quick business meeting.

Brandy if you have any top shelf on hand.” I said to the woman, exaimining her as I removed my helmet and cradled it in the crook of my arm. “A pleasure to meet you Lady Preshea.” She nodded to the chairs, but I remained standing for the moment.

She had mercenaries. Didn’t I know the business with a few thousand Mandalorian warriors who I sold swords with. She needed them equipped, which was always beneficial. The fact that she had come to ArmaTech meant she had good taste, albeit a bit expensive. That wasn’t a problem for me and mine and would keep her spending less on funeral costs for her mercenaries.

As you may not be aware, there are things ArmaTech sells that we only offer in contracts. So I have brought with me a full manifest. You were interested in our Armor, Primary Weapons, and Vehicles so I have brought full lists for those, as well as a list for our offered auxillary weapons.

I placed a small datapad on the desk and took a seat on its edge. I always preferred more casual business meetings myself.

With a simple gesture of her hand, the droid that had for the most part been forgotten about on the edge of the room, slowly waddled its way with its awkward stride towards the man whom remained standing. A glass of brandy resting on a tray while for that moment the Lady would take nothing alcoholic. She was dealing with business and she couldn't risk allowing her mind any bit of haze by consuming what she felt were drinks to be savoured and enjoyed upon the completion of business.
Leaning forward, she took the datapad in hand, her eyes moving over the figure before she shook her head slightly. Slipping the datapad away, she pressed it down in a small recess that was hidden within a draw. Slender fingers moved over the top of the desk, pressing a button that immediately closed the heavy shutters that had been installed around the room, leaving it in darkness for a moment before it was bathed in an eerie blue light.
The hologram projector installed in the ceiling flickered to life as it began to slip the images before the individuals in the room. The Lady slipping from her seat before moving around the table. Her eyes falling upon the holographic images before she spoke.
"I may purchase a list that has already been constructed, though that would depend on the contract and if your company is willing to sign a non-exclusive supply deal."

I watched her move around the table, following her with my eyes as she moved, looking at the holographic images the desk was protecting. The darkened room and the pale blue light made it seem like she had practiced negotiating deals a lot, playing to her strengths.

Well, as for non-exclusive I don’t have a problem with that. I don’t make everything there is, how could I supply you with everything your soldiers need?” I asked rhetorically. I didn’t need to supply her exclusively, that would limit her and might force me to diversify my product line further. The Techno Union, the Galactic Republic, and the Silver Jedi Order all paid enormous amounts of credits to equip their soldiers. Whatever I sold in addition to those was just extra profit in the pocket, I didn’t need to open up another research and development project.

As for your list, I would need to see it before I could quote you a price. But normally for contracts like these, I offer a buy in bulk discount of twenty percent if you spend more than ten million.” Discounts were hardly that, and anyone in business knew that I would still turn a profit.

I downed the drink and placed the empty glass on the desk. “So what is it you need, and what is it you want?

Preshea moved towards one of the large sitting chairs in the room, slipping down into it before she crossed a leg over the other. Her hands moving slowly until they both rest upon her knee before she nodded her head. Those pale icy blue hues falling upon the droid as it stepped out from the side of the room, its more feminine voice filling the air.
"The mistress requires the following list..."
"x15 ACS-004 Immortal..."
"x20 ACS-004 Titan..."
"x590 ACS-004 Olympian..."
"x50 ACS-205 DWS..."
"x25 ACS-203 Hellfire..."
"x10 ACS-205 MAV..."
"x10 ACS-501 HBT..."
With its own nod, the droid stepped back into the shadows where it stood waiting, its photoreceptors glowing softly, having been changed to a similar pale blue to match its owner's eyes. Preshea slowly looked back towards the business man that was sitting on her desk before she nodded her head quietly. It was a simple agreement to the droids numbers of quantity of the items that she was seeking to purchase.
"A down payment as a show of good faith will be provided up front, with the remainder of the balance to be settled upon delivery of all the requisitioned items."

I went over the numbers in my head, thinking over what all the droid had requested for the preliminary order. Not a bad chunk of change to start out with, certainly enough to drag me out to Naboo’s lake country and give me a good weekend out here off her dime. “I can do all that without significant issues, delivery for those items should go out to you within the week. You’ll find I can more than accommodate your needs, Lady Preshea.

I turned on the desk to face the woman. For some reason she had changed positions so that she was now between the door and me. Not that I minded, just that it was an odd negotiating tactic. Her pale blue eyes stared back at me and I smirked.

Unless I have gotten the math horribly wrong, it sounds like forty four million credits for the lot of it, discounted of course. So what, half now, half when you get it?” I asked, inquiring as to her intentions of a good faith payment. Faith and business were often leagues apart, but right now I was the one with the goods and thus I held the majority of the cards and I was the trusting type.

With a quiet motion of her hand the droid merely attempted what appeared to be a bow before it shuffled away. The woman remaining quiet and composed as she sat across from the man whom had deemed it necessary to lean upon her heavy desk. She was already thinking of how to either replace or otherwise ensure that what little smudges that his armor placed upon it during the little time that the two spent in the office.
It was only a matter of moments until the droid returned, a case in its arms before it stood next to its mistress. Looking towards her guest, she leaned over quietly, her hand pressing against the clasps of the case and slowly opening it to reveal the contents. The lights slowly beginning to once more illuminate the room as the holoprojector was shut off. Within the case was his payment, a handful of Peggats that resided snugly within the foam lined container.
"Half now, with the additional half upon the full fulfillment of the order. Though should you decide to provide substandard goods you may expect an additional visit."
Her tone just a bit lower to emphasis the simple fact that she would have no trouble dragging him back into this little office to ensure that she would be provided all that she was paying for. Slipping from the seat, she shut the case, locking it once more before pulling it from the droids arms and resting it upon the desk. Now it was his turn to hold up his side of the little order.

I smiled, not really bothering to look at the peggats inside the case. I kept my eyes locked on hers. She wasn't going to hand me less than I had asked for as a good faith payment. She didn't have anything yet to screw me out of. "You will get the best I have." I said reassuringly. There was a reason I was stupidly rich. The Republic, as much as they hated me had still paid trillions of credits to get my armor and weapons because they were the best available.

She offered a simple, threat, warning, was it at the end? She wouldn't have trouble dragging me back, but it probably wouldn't be against my will. "However the concept of an additional visit is enticing. I might have to throw some extras in to invoke such an arrangement." I responded with a smile, taking up the handle of the case. It had some heft to it.

"Thank you for your business, [member="Lady Preshea"] . It has been a pleasure, and I hope to hear from you again soon." I finished, standing up, helmet cradled in the crook of my arm, case of money in the hand. I extended an armored hand out for hers.
