OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

  • Intent: To codify the Aran'kha.
  • Role: Soldiers of the Kemotar.
  • Permissions: N/A

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: The Aran'kha
  • Affiliation: The Kemotat
  • Classification: Infantry
  • Description: The Aran'kha are the infantry, guards, and police force of Ra'Katha and more specifically the Dejoka'ar culture. Dressed in their iconic traditional Yah'rid, they are utilized as both infantry in planetary warfare as well as the main security and policing force of Ra'Kathan cities. Trained en mass, the experience of an Aran'kha is roughly dependent on their age, with newly-minted recruits differing greatly from grizzled captains. The Aran'kha also serve as the main military force of the Kemotar and answer directly to them, who acts as their commander in chief.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Large
  • Unit Availability: Uncommon
  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function: In a policing function, the Aran'kha are trained to fight in groups of at least three. The Amankh Vibrospear is the commonly used weapon of choice, used to wound opponents before they can get close enough to deliver their own blows. Aran'kha will typically form a semicircle or complete circle, depending on the number of Aran'kha present, and use a combination of their shields and spears to force their opponents to surrender.

In actual warfare, Aran'kha is trained to operate together in much bigger units. Accepted doctrine is to create a wall of overlapping shields to prevent penetration by enemy projectiles, slowly marching to the objective before breaking loose and fighting one-on-one. During the initial stages of a battle, the Amankh Vibrospear is favored as it is able to probe at the enemy's defenses while they use their shield for defense. Once a battle has devolved into a higher level of chaos, however, the vibrospear is either broken or discarded and a soldier will fight with their dagger and shield, using the former to stab and hack at opponents while using the latter to both protect themself from blows while also using it to inflict blunt force on enemies.

Meanwhile, in ranged combat, the Aran'kha are trained to use the deadly Raari Vehaj Phase-Pulse Blaster Rifle, an extremely-slow firing weapon that creates a blaster bolt powerful enough to potentially vaporize an enemy. An extremely deadly weapon, the Raari Vehaj is as brutal as Ra'Katha itself, and many fear the crack of the blaster's report. The rifle is used over long ranges to whittle way enemy defenses and to counter its brutal nature, the Aran'kha are trained to use their shield-wall to diffuse the powerful energy of the blaster bolt.

In Ra'Kathan warfare, the concept of honorable combat is prized over general tactical strategy, and once unleashed, each soldier becomes effectively their own single soldier, and will generally 'single' out opponents in single combat.
STRENGTHS
  • Golden Warriors: When working in a group at close ranges, the Aran'kha is a deadly force. Thanks to their wide range of dangerous melee weaponry and extremely protective armor, they are a force to be reckoned with
  • Wide Reach: The Aran'kha are rather a large force that is very widespread, meaning reinforcements can easily be called on and replaced when casualties run high.
WEAKNESSES
  • Ranged Combat: The Aran'kha do not have any modern ranged weapons which to utilize, their only available options being an extremely slow-firing rifle, greatly decreasing their effectiveness at ranged combatants.
  • Antiquated Fighting: The tactics commonly employed by the Aran'kha would, generally, not be viable in most intragalactic conflicts and proves to be a disadvantage for the force.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The warriors of the Golden Sun are the traditional combatants in Ra'Kathan warfare. Founded long before even the Rommer Dynasty, the Aran'kha have fought, bled, and died over countless sand-covered, sun-bleached battlefields on the desert planet.

The role of the Aran'kha is quite variable and has encompassed many different duties. For a period of time before the Rommers, the Aran'kha were utilized as a fighting force for the Dejoka'ar in their crusade against the Wan'anteen to rid them from different regions around the Shimmering Sea, from fighting between themselves in the wars of the cities, to being the main peacekeeping and military force of the great Rommer Dynasty and their Ra'Kathan Empire. In each service, the Aran'kha performed admirably and distinguishably.

As much a product of the planet they live and serve on, a cornerstone of the Aran'kha is tradition. From their tactics of honorable combat to their armor, everything about them is the result of centuries of cultivation and cultural enrichment, and as such the Aran'kha has become an ingrained part of Ra'Kathan culture and history. They are the noble, fierce warriors of the Golden Sun, and they ensure none on Ra'Katha bow to those who try to force them to.

I apologize this has taken a while for someone to look at! Let's get a review underway for you.

After looking this over it is a good submission, however there is one thing. As you can see from the chart posted below a combat unit which is large and common only has access to equipment which is mass produced:

There are three of your items which are minor production"
The solution to this is one of two options
  1. Replace the equipment with items which are mass produced
  2. Change your unit rating from common to uncommon
Tag me once you have decided how you wish to proceed and have made the necessary edits. Thanks!
