OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
~~~~~~~~~~
Intent:
To give Elysium Industries an NPC that manages the business while John Rakugan is occupied.
Image Credit: Mortal Kombat Warehouse, 2015
Role:
Howie is a long-time friend of John Rakugan; an old war buddy from the Commenor Engineering Corps who served in the same squadron as John did. He became a successful entrepreneur after launching “Howard’s Mining Company” following his corps service, which—through Howie’s tireless commitment—made him a millionaire. Howie provided John with the loan he needed “on one condition”: the condition being that Thavron would own 50% of the company shares and work in the hangar alongside his friend.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
~~~~~~~~~~

Age:
48
Force Sensitivity:
Non Force User
Species:
Human
Skin Colour:
Black
Appearance:
Despite years being out of the military, Thavron has kept himself in top physical condition by exercising daily and by working in the mining industry. He wears a trucker hat with a red star on it and a plad tunic with a blue vest. Most of the time, he has his toolbelt hanging from his waist, which contains “the essentials” for making small starship repairs.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
~~~~~~~~~~
Name:
Thavron “Howie” Howard
Loyalties:
Elysium Industries | Commenor
Wealth:
Thavron is a very wealthy man due to his smart business management. His net worth is approximately $2.2M credits.
Notable Possessions:
Thavron has a cybernetic arm implant on his arm made from solid titanium, which he gained during incidents in the military (see “History”).
Skills:
Just like Rakugan, Thavron is a highly skilled mechanic and engineer. However, he has one thing that Rakugan does not: business sense, and a silver tongue. Though Thavron’s aggressive business dealings have often landed him in trouble—most notably with the Hutts, who got cut out of a deal—he has never failed to walk away without a good deal. Thavron is also highly skilled at melee, and has the frame of a house.
Personality:
Thavron is friendly to most people, but he has a Scorpio's temperament. Once scorned, Thavron has little patient or tolerance for you, and you’d best stay out of his way. He is a very conservative personality who doesn’t take well to outrageous ideas, stupid proposals or suspicious individuals.
COMBAT INFORMATION
~~~~~~~~~~

Weapon of Choice:
Fists

Combat Function:
Combat-wise, Thavron is essentially John Rakugan’s personal bodyguard. As a tough guy and a soldier, Thavron would be getting right up in the face of enemies and attacking them with either a melee weapon or his bare fists. His primary role in combat would be to protect John Rakugan, to protect Elysium Industries and their assets, and to get everybody away from the threat. He isn’t foolhardy, however, and he will back off when he knows he’s been beaten. He has a wife and kids, after all.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
~~~~~~~~~~
Thavron “Howie” Howard joined the Commenor military when he was 26 years old, where he was assigned to the Engineering Corps. He was forced to join due to the fact that his family could not afford to send him to university. There, he met John Rakugan. The two became best of friends over their shared love of starships and their similar personality traits. Practically, their skills balanced each other out. Thavron has repaired literally thousands of ships while working in the same hangar as John, and the two know each other like the backs of their hands.
There was once an attack on Howard’s and John’s hangar bay by pirates, which John Rakugan calls “the pirate incident”. This was the incident which led to Howard losing his right arm: shrapnel from a photon bomb blew right through the bone and shattered it beyond repair. This was also the incident where John Rakugan nearly lost his eye to the business end of a pirate’s vibroblade. The scar near his eye was so unsightly that Rakugan wears sunglasses or an optical interface on his face pretty much all of the time to hide it.
Howie was honourably discharged after losing his arm during “the pirate incident” and given a cybernetic arm implant. The pain from the implant was excruciating because the military leadership at the time chose to purchase the cheapest model available. This model came with a wiring defect in about 1/255 models, and Howie just so happened to get the bad one. Every time he moved his arm, he could feel electricity flowing through his skin. The pain was nearly unbearable. Just when he thought things couldn’t get any worse, Rakugan purchased Thavron a new and better cybernetic arm. It nearly wiped out John Rakugan’s bank account, but John couldn’t stand to see his best friend in pain. “Pay me back when you can”, John told Thavron this without another thought.
And pay him back he did. Thavron became a miner, then the miner’s boss, then the boss’ boss. Over the course of several years, Howard built a successful business called Howard’s Mining Company: a business that made him a millionaire. He met his beautiful Twi’Lek wife, Eva, soon after that. After years of managing his business, though, Howard grew weary of the responsibility. He sold his business and retired into a comfortable flat in the North end of Chasin City, making smart investments every now and again to support his wealthy lifestyle.
Thevron Howard put his newest investment in Elysium Industries, John Rakugan’s starship manufacturing, parts and repair business. In exchange for 50% of the business—and the privilege of working alongside his old friend—he gave Rakugan 500,000 credits.
Good stuff, [member="John Rakugan"]
I can see you put some time and thought into the background of the character in question.
I'm just going to ask you to do one minor change and add the image source to the Out of Character Information section so it matches the Codex template completely and then I shall stamp this for approval.
