  PRELUDE​

  
  Born on the Chiss noble world of Sposia, Greth'an'esturuo was the seventh in line for the house Esturuo, a minor ruling House of the Ascendancy prior to the downfall. In his youth he was enrolled within the Chiss military academy before being sent to the New Imperial Order as part of an exchange program following the end of the alliance between the Sith Empire and the Chiss Ascendancy, sent to the Crix Madine Special Warfare Academy on Adumar, following an evaluation test- Thane was put through the rigorous Combat Control Team training pipeline, a process that lasted well into a year before he graduated and was assigned to the 181st Starfighter Group.
  
  Thane served mostly in counter-insurgency operations, organizing sorties against Sith-Imperial remnants but saw large-scale combat in the Pentastar Operation in defense of Muunilinst and the Iron Ring Campaigns as well as the defense of his racial homeworld in Csilla in which he was wounded in action at the battle of Thrawn's Rest.
  
  Following the last, Thane was invited to a special selection process for the ISB's Field Operations Group where he undertook another training pipeline that placed him in the group, a versatile subsection of Imperial agents now given a more expansive jurisdiction following the assassination of the Imperator and the sedition on Carlac.
  
  

  BY OTHER MEANS

  The fall of the Empire was a slow choke rather than a violent cataclysm. Its fighting men and women left now without a means to survive in a greater galaxy lest they cling desperately to the dying of the light. Thane would be no such man. Recruited along with scores of others to the Trade Federation which still carried a sizeable influence in former Imperial space, his particular abilities and skillset found himself under the direct employ of Viceroy Gat Tambor. With a history in intelligence gathering and espionage whilst in possession of a background which had been largely scrubbed clean by the ISB, he soon rose to be an asset of the Federation.
  
  Working as a special envoy on behalf of Tambor, Thane acts as his proxy in the more shadowy and illicit dealings of the Federation, being granted a good deal of autonomy and resources in order to furth strengthen the Trade Federation's web of influence, power and profits beneath the skin of the Galaxy, where political borders are subsided in favor of the veins of trade and the true machinations of power.
