There are times when you simply don't want to use a bow and arrow to take down someone, or it would take too long. Knowing that, Ezra designed this rifle and a whole series of these rifles in all actuality for that purpose. Combining technology pioneered by his brother with his own creativity, the D-100 or "Darlene" was born from his efforts. This rifle was made as a means of leveling the playing field against targets the bow and arrow wouldn't be able to be used on for whatever reason. This rifle is one of the tools he uses. His brother Taji before his capture actually helped him create this. As opposed to using Gunpowder or similar substances this uses magnetic technology in order to fire the bullets.
The D-103 was made by Taji based off the designs of his brother in order to create an upgraded version of Darlene. AMAX-I5 made further improvements upon the rifle adding many different types of ammunition in order to make the rifle able to hold it's own in a variety of different situations, and different drums to the rifle.
