DESCRIPTION
Developed by the various minds within the Trade Federation, the TF01 Droid Starfighter; Carrion Pattern was designed to act as the spiritual successor to the ancient Vulture Droid that once swarmed through the Stars during an ancient conflict. As more and more souls consign themselves to damnation, either through their own designs or at the forceful behest of another, there was an unspoken desire for Droid Starfighters to make their triumphant return to the spatial battlefield. It was true that select Interstellar Nations were utilizing Droid Starfighters, but they were overly specialized and required various arcane technologies, making these iterations unable to be fielded in large quantities. That was simply unacceptable.

Therefore the Trade Federation sought not only to populate the Stars with mass-produced, nigh-intelligent battle droids but to secretly tank the so-called Electrum standard utilized by some currencies through the known universe.

It was dastardly brilliant, in their opinion.

To that end, the TF01 Droid Starfighter; Carrion Pattern was built around the schematics of its spiritual successor so that every component could be machined to perfection, and allowed for the starships to be fabricated with relative ease. That meant that these Droid Starfighters could be easily pieced together within a small measure of time, and from a vast selection of parts - especially those scavenged from various Starship Graveyards. It’s not like the dead were using their warships, and more often than not - they were forgotten to rot amongst the silence of the Void. So, when recovered and the bodies returned from whence they came, these reforged materials would be given new life. Waste not, want not, so to speak.

Despite the relative ease of its construction, the TF01 Droid Starfighter; Carrion Pattern was capable of transforming itself to operate not only as a Starfighter in proverbial swarms - but as a Light Walker as well. While this ‘mode’ would enhance the Starfighter’s versatility, it would also hinder its lethality. The brace of Laser Cannons that were attached to the Starfighter’s arms would become inoperable in favour of gaining the ability to walk upon a surface and act in support of an occupying force. Although it was unfortunate that the lethality was curbed in the face of this transformation, the Trade Federation couldn’t deny it’s psychological effectiveness - especially when the Expeditionary Forces of their clients could become multipurpose in the face of opposition.
