Many that know Juyvna often say that she presents a comely and pleasing appearance. Her expressive crimson eyes so commonly associated with the Chiss are without a doubt her most recognisable facial features. They twinkle with delight and excitement whenever she finds interest in something, and the twin red orbs emote expressively in times of happiness, anger or displeasure.
Ever expressive, her emotions are always out in the open for all to see, and her eyes are clear evidence of that. She has never been the type to be stoic or hold a blank face devoid of emotions. Her long straight black hair is often worn loose, although there are occasions where she wears them in a ponytail. She is also blessed with a healthy amount of feminine curves and she appreciates them, often showing them off in selective form fitting clothing or battle armour specially configured to fit her body frame.
Juyvna is an extremely focus-driven individual, who is also highly persistent; she does not give up once she has set her sights on something. Her ambitious nature drives her to work hard and achieve her goals. Her resourcefulness allows her to make the most of what she has and find ways to overcome obstacles.
She is also brave, adventurous and highly motivated, which often leads to confidence in her own capabilities. Juyvna is known to be reluctant to yield or compromise once she has set her mind on something. She often insists on her own way unless she is made to finally see reason, but that is a tall order. Rarely afraid of anything, be it letting loose a string of insults and obscenities or terms and actions of affection. Not one to mine or sugar coat her words, she simply says what’s on her mind.
+ Highly strong-willed
Juyvna has a strong will and a deep inner fighting spirit that never allows her to give up, like a flame that never dies. This inner strength keeps her fighting through the toughest of adversities and challenges she has faced head on in all of her life so far.
+ Physically Fit
Juyvna is an ex slave who was forced through a highly physical regime in an inhospitable environment just to survive. Due to this routine being followed day in day out, She has more than a decent amount of grit, strength, agility and endurance than her peers.
+ Pain Resistance
Due to years of physical torment whilst in slavery, Juyvna has built up a high level of tolerance to pain and suffering. Such sufferings of this nature have a lesser effect on her than her peers who are not used to going through this type of treatment for prolonged periods.
+ Keen Eyes
Highly observant and alert, she is always able to pick out the most minute of details that the average person would normally miss in an environment they are new in.
- Highly Stubborn
It can take a lot of convincing and persuasion to get her to change her set of ways or for her to see the point once she has decided on something. Although it is not impossible, sometimes it’s just better for her to suffer a hard knock for her to learn her lesson especially if the consequences aren’t fatal.
- Ex Slave
As a former slave, the topic of slavery can be distasteful for her. Although she isn’t against it to the point of speaking or acting out against others who keep slaves as she understands the point of them, she herself will never keep slaves of her own, no matter how useful they may be to her. Should they serve well, she will free them just as she had been freed.
- Grudgebearer
Although Juyvna’s loyalty is unshakeable once it is gained, once the trust is lost, it will be virtually impossible for it to be regained. Moving mountains would be easier.
- Untempered in Emotions
Juyvna has always had problems with her emotions. It had caused problems during her early childhood years, and it is still a problem now. Seeming to lack any sort of filter, she is prone to letting them overpower the logical part of her senses, fully relying on her feelings to make emotionally charged actions and decisions. These might often come with undesired dire consequences, but the benefits do show for themselves as seen in several occasions.
Minj'uyv'nalani (Juyvna) grew up in the massive ecumenopolis of Nar Shaddaa, where the sea of neon glow signs were almost perpetually everywhere the eye could see. It was a moon that was consumed by chaos, a haven for smugglers, bounty hunters, and criminals. The Chiss population in Nar Shaddaa was not significant and they tended to keep in close contact with one another. Growing up, Juyvna got along well with another Chiss girl older than her called Minsu’vi’arlani (Suvi), and the pair quickly became fast friends.
Both their families had fled intrigues of the Chiss Ascendancy and striving to make a living on the lawless moon of Nar Shaddaa was no easy feat, and the families did what they had to survive. Her childhood was marked by both the hardships of the criminal underworld and the love of her parents. She grew up listening to tales of the stars and the wonders of the galaxy beyond the hustle and bustle of the towering buildings lit by the neon signs of the ecumenopolis. One fateful night, Juyvna was enjoying a sleepover at Suvi’s home, and the two young girls stayed up late, chatting with one another in hushed chatter to avoid the detection of their sleeping parents.
The silence of the night broke as the sound of fighting and blaster fire filled the air replacing the silence that had only been there just moments before. Both girls, frightened out of their wits, walked towards the room of their door to look for the source of the commotion. Both of them saw Suvi’s parents fighting against a gang of criminals. As blaster bolts filled the air, the girls kept low and cowered. Several moments later, the sounds of battle ended just as abruptly as it began. She heard heavy footsteps approaching them and saw one of the criminals, a human who placed a filthy bag over their heads and chained them up.
What awaited her was walking and more walking, all without sight. The next time the bag was removed from their heads, they were no longer in the bustling ecumenopolis of Nar Shaddaa with its sea of glowing neon signs. They were now in the harsh deserts of the planet Tatooine with its twin suns scorching the arid landscape and endless sand dunes. The relentless heat felt a punch in Juyvna’s gut, a sensation she had never felt before. As the new slaves were sorted out, she was separated from Suvi, and that was the last she would ever see of her best friend.
Her days in captivity were filled with gruelling labour, the relentless sun beating down on her and fellow slaves as they toiled under the watchful eyes of merciless overseers. Their hands were calloused, their backs bent from the ceaseless work. They were eventually sent to work as scavengers in teams, competing with the Jawas, the Tusken Raiders, along with other bandits and scavengers. It was a world of pain and deprivation, where survival depended on one's ability to endure. Her nights offered no respite. Cramped and sweltering quarters, shared with other unfortunate souls, provided little comfort. The meagre rations barely sustained them, and dreams of a better life seemed like distant mirages in the endless desert. Yet, through the torment and despair, Suvi clung to the hope that perhaps she would one day escape and see her parents again.
One day, she would grow strong and powerful and come back to kill every single of these slavers. She whispered it to herself as some sort of a promise as she fell asleep each night, a beacon of hope in the darkness that surrounded her. It was this promise that kept her going each day. Her childhood and life had been stolen from her, replaced by a ceaseless cycle of labour under the watchful eyes of cruel overseers. She and her fellow slaves were nothing more than property to be exploited, their spirits crushed by the relentless demands of their masters.
But hope has a way of flickering even in the darkest of times. That hope took the form of a Sith Lord named Darth Malum of House Marr. One day she was brought to this young man, a Sith Lord who gave her freedom back to her. She knowed not what he had said or done to the slavers for her to be given so but a new chapter of her life was about to begin and she would not be ungrateful for the opportunity.
