• Distinctions: With a skull like head, large brightly colored wings, and three prehensile tails, the Terylax is a terrifyingly beautiful in its appearance, belying its relatively harmless nature. While not dangerous while in flight, it does have one defense mechanism against the deadly wilds of Veradune by way of its tough carapace. Surprisingly durable for its flexible nature, once the Terylax is curled into its cocoon, its carapace may harden to a bone like consistency with small spikes that would make it even harder to chew on. When not cocooned, the Terylax’s carapace’s is about as durable as tough leather. Unable to walk on its wings and without any limbs, the Terylax flies everywhere it goes, wrapping its wings or tails around surfaces when it must so that it might eat. As with most Veran species, the Terylax’s lifespan is significantly longer than most creatures of its size within the galaxy.

• Non-Carapace body is soft and relatively easy to damage
CULTURE
• Diet: Frugivore. The Terylax’s main diet is the many fruits on Veradune which it will obtain by wrapping tis wings around a branch while its skull like head digs into its meal.
• Communication: Chittering, Screeches, and clicks.
• Technology level: None
• Religion/Beliefs: No Religion
• General behavior: Usually inhabiting the canopies of the Veran Forests, the Terylax flies about in search for succulent fruits that it might land by to eat. While incapable of travelling without flight, it is capable of wrapping its wings and tails around branches and limbs so that its head may reach out to bite and eat of the fruit. When threatened, the Terylax will either fly away, or if that is not an option, cocoon itself to avoid being eaten. Diruinal by nature, the Terylax sleeps by wrapping its tails around a branch while the rest of its body cocoons to remain safe while it slumbers.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Evolving in the wilds of Veradune, the Terylax despite being one of the more docile creatures on the planet, has always been seen as a bad omen due to its skull like visage. However, this has usually led to them being avoided by the denizens of Veradune. Content to eat their fruit, the Terylax has survived in relative peace, unbothered by the goings on of the galaxy. It should be noted however, that in recent years, the Terylax has become a mildly popular house pet among Veran people who are either not put off by or interested in their macabre appearance.
