Flat, sword-like blade
Strengths:
Cutting Power: Like any lightsaber, the weapon of Kizuato has an extreme cutting ability that goes through most materials.
Blade-on-Blade: The blade of this lightsaber, like its Jedi kin, can resist the blade of another lightsaber.
Weaknesses:
Decreased Blaster Resistance: Due to the flattened shape of the blade, this lightsaber loses the surface area to effectively deflect blasterfire. The only successful way to do this is to face the flat side of the blade.
Lightsaber-Resistant Materials: As with all lightsabers, materials like cortosis and phrik negate the abilities of this blade.
DESCRIPTION
Upon being ascended to his position, Prince Kizuato was grant the royal lightsaber known as the Wanghou-Jian. Feeling that the weapon was relict of the past, he decided to remake it in his own image. Based upon the shape of a traditional Riben-Jin warsword (more or less a katana), the flatten blade was inspired by Kizuato’s viewing of galactic news that featured Mandalorian individuals wielding a black-bladed, sword like lightsaber. As his personal ship, the Shinryu, was being refurbished from its state as an Old Republic ship, there were remnants of Jedi lightsabers aboard. Seeking out the ship, he came upon a lightsaber fitted with a white crystal, which he claimed as his own. He took to name it Tennoken (‘heavenly sword’), due to the ethereal look of the blade.
