SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Modified Hyperdrive Parts allow data to be sent through Hyperspace.
  • Strong, resistant metals to protect the unit. Includes a degree of Ion/EMP resistance.
STRENGTHS
  • Instantaneous Communication.
  • Difficult to intercept or jam.
WEAKNESSES
  • Even with the protective materials, the units can still be damaged. Damage to the inner workings renders a unit nonfunctional. It must then be repaired before it can be used again.
  • Units must be linked in order to work.
DESCRIPTION
The Temiye Ansible Comm System works by transmitting information through Hyperspace, where it is converted to light and sped up to a point where time reverses (converting the light back into its original data), negating the time it takes to send the message. This allows instantaneous communication over an infinite distance. This works with all forms of data communication, from prerecorded messages to real-time holocalls. It works within its own system and does not require any relay satellites in between destinations. All you need is a Temiye Ansible Comm System on both the transmitting and receiving end. Because the information is sent through Hyperspace at FTL speeds, it is difficult for any communication to be intercepted or jammed. The system can technically be sliced into, but such an action would be rather pointless, as no data logs are ever kept, unless by a connected computer. The most a slicer could do is shut down the unit or take control to send messages. The only known way to interrupt communications between units is to either shutdown the one of the units or to incapacitate to controller of the unit. This would keep that specific unit from transmitting or receiving, though any other units in the system will be largely unaffected.
