Tea Talkin'

Eva frowned before giving the woman as much of an encouraging smile as she could manage. "Sometimes the worst blows is what leads us to greatness," she responded quietly. What else could she say? It sucked, and she hated that [member="Kay Arenais"] had to suffer with the memories.

"If you ever need to speak, or just let out a tear or a dozen, I'm always here." If she was any closer, she'd have taken her hand and given it a squeeze. For now, though, at least Kay seemed somewhat content with her shop - despite the trauma she likely had been through.

Kay furrowed her brows while she stared at her tea. She had risen above such turmoil before. However the last time...wasn't so great. Instead it was short lived and had led to even worse suffering. It was as though she wasn't meant to rise up at all anymore, as though she was well past her prime.

She looked up to [member="Evangeline Delias"] as she suggested opening up to her. Maybe she should. Afterall who would look after the shop if she were to die? None of the children surely, and certainly not Veiere. Doyle was out of the question as well, for the spice would be too much. Kay had developed a fondness for Eva. Not only was she a great employee, but she was a good friend as well. "I have more than just a dozen tears to shed, I'm afraid. I've been through so much and the pain just won't end. But the tea....helps..." Numbing herself to the word was a good way to cope. So was keeping herself busy. Mayhem was also a coping mechanism of hers. But no one knew about that one. Or at least she wasn't aware that they didn't see him.

Being new in her own life, and knowing [member="Kay Arenais"], it was definitely hard to see any type of royalty or empireness from her. She seemed kind, and heck, gave her a chance at the job here. That counted for something, right? People get thrown into all sorts of crap... A piece of her wondered why such a thing happened - how Kay had been an Empress. Her story. But now probably wasn't the right time.

"Good," she replied with a slight nod. Although, a frown formed on her lips. "Well, sometimes healing takes form in a nice tea and over time," she offered with a weak but encouraging smile. Trauma was hard to deal with it, in almost any circumstance...

Kay slowly nodded her head. "Usually tea is the only comfort and healing that I get." How long had it been since she was hugged? Even her husband failed to do so when he had visited. She wasn't deserving of it anyways. He was far too good for her and far too invaluable to others in the Galaxy. He wanted to be her part time protector whenever they were within the same space. But there were others far more deserving of his time. They would gain more out of it than she could.

Their children had their own lives, having pretty much grown into adulthood. Her son wasn't keen on seeing her at all and her daughter just hid her feelings away through her work on her ship.

This was Kay's new Purgatory and it was here that she was certain she'd die. Alone and more likely through violence. But until that happens, she was planning on taking out some of her enemies as well. There was no redemption for her, no rising from the ashes in some glorious fashion. Ever since the siege of Commenor, Kay had been caught in a downward spiral that couldn't be stopped.

She looked to [member="Evangeline Delias"] now, her eyes showing nothing but the seriousness in her words. "I'm going to lay it out in the deed that if something tragic happens to me, this shop, the products and everything goes up for sale. I'd like half to go to my children and a quarter of it to the Mandalorian Clans. And if my children refuse it, send their portion to the Clans. For the last quarter, I'd like that to go to you."
