That said, if you want to kill somebody, there are much better untraceable poisons to use - the Toad only results in death in some cases, requiring a massive dose or contributing preexisting conditions to kill the consumer.
- Rare: Spiny-collared toads are uncommon; the species has not ventured beyond its homeworld. Breeders are rare and the harvesting and/or sale of the venom is illegal in most systems, including Tatooine. It's biggest weakness is that it's not really that well-known outside of specific psychedelic drug subcultures.
- Addictive: There isn't much data on the long-term effects of smoking the Toad, but there is some evidence that it can become addictive. Smoke them at your own risk.
The spiny-collared toad is an amphibian native to Tatooine. They are commonly found near oases. To combat predators, the species has numerous glands on its body which secrete a milky toxin that can cause paralysis, nausea, and in severe cases death. This toxin also contains a psychedelic that can be used as an entheogen, or a psychoactive substance which is used in a religious or sacred context.
