Description: While Reclaimer Arts&Industrial specializes in casual civilian or patrol speeders, a small division of company's engineers began developing a racespeeder in their spare time. Aspiration was to create a dream car for every man, the kind of toy one buys after 20 years of marriage, in search of thrill and excitement at the onset of midlife crisis. What was a hobby at first became an actual product, after managers foresaw Tarragon's potential to fill an existing void in its vehicle category Initially, the speeder was marketed towards the more wealthy clientele, but it soon became a statement car for those more rebellious among us. The archaic design, signature ivory/beige color, snazzy looking metallic grilles and over-the-top flight specs won the sympathies of the critics as well as those who don't mind spending an extra dime to make an impression. The price tag is quite high, given the fact that most of the finishing touches and tuning are done by hand. Orders are handled individually, as the speeder is not mass produced.
Tarragon racespeeder is exceptionally fast airspeeder with considerable maneuverability, but only when afterburners are not switched on. While the vehicle remains agile in close quarters, such as flying through dense maze of alleys, it can only do so at reduced speed. Full velocity can only be achieved in straight streaks, when flying on hyperlanes. Afterburners can only be switched on thirty seconds at a time, before engines start overheating. Despite this inconvenience, they are very useful when outpacing other race cars.
Good perfomance is mostly owed due to its light frame made of a special alloy. With just over 2 tonnes, it is one of the lightest airspeeders on the market, given its respective product category. A considerable downside is fragility of the body of the speeder; a crash at full repulsorlift speed would cause serious injuries, if not immediate death. Tarragon is a joy to ride if flown by an experienced and versatile pilot. Otherwise, it is a human missile waiting to happen. Another shortcoming of the model is relative low max.altitude, despite afterburners. Since the hull is not made from durasteel, ascending too high in the atmosphere may lead to cabin collapse and structural damage.
