No Discharge in the War
FACTION HANDBOOK & INFOBOX
The year is 904 ABY, and yet another so-called Empire has fallen beneath the boots of a mongrel state hellbent on disrupting the one thing that can hold this galaxy together: order.
If it's not the Jedi puppeteering federations with their dogmatic religion or Sith dogs staking arbitrary claim over neutral systems, it's pirates, warlords, and Imperial pretenders going through the motions without truly embracing what it means to be not only an Empire... but the Empire.
The Tarkin Initiative has waited long enough for change to come about naturally. It has become clear to the Shadow Council that the galaxy cannot produce the Imperial Era that it so desperately needs on its own. The Initiative must rise and take on the mantle, accepting its role as the crucible that will forge a new Empire.
Welcome to the Tarkin Initiative!
Once the galaxy's premiere Imperial think tank, we have grown beyond the confines of laboratories and clandestine facilities. The Initiative is making impressive moves across many post-Imperial systems—possibly even in yours! This handbook is a manifesto prepared by Director Daedalus Tarkin to serve as a comprehensive guide for the Initiative's recruits.
There are many points of origin for your character to arrive from, and once they do, there are just as many exciting roles to play within the Initiative.
Most members are willing recruits with strong Imperial backgrounds. Some are disenfranchised remnants of fallen Imperial factions, others are defectors from existing groups, and some are simply pro-Imperial individuals looking for a framework to fit into. The Imperial Army is primarily comprised of local volunteers and conscripts, while the Stormtrooper Corps and Imperial Navy are fielded by well-trained recruits. Agencies such as COMPNOR and the ISB often draw personnel from other branches based on merit, demonstrated skill in the Initiative, or documented experience in other Imperial factions.
The Inquisitorius is almost entirely comprised of broken Force-users who were compelled to serve the Empire through grim acts of torture and re-education, while the front-facing Imperial Knights are formed of trustworthy figures who inspire the people's support.
Those who represent their planet's government find themselves participating in the Imperial Senate, where they interact with other senators as well as Imperial governors and moffs. They bring forth policy, represent their people, and navigate the political landscape of a nascent yet powerful Empire.
You are invited to choose as many paths in the Initiative as you would like. Through active roleplay, your characters have the opportunity to earn commendations, promotions, and other forms of in-character prowess that will cement their place in the Initiative's meritocracy.
