Description:
The building was designed by Darth Venefica for the city of Taobh Dorcha. Titan Industries and several small and meaningless companies lent resources to the construction of the facility under the guidance of the Sith Lady. The main purpose of this facility is to monitor the atmosphere of Eclipse after the terra-forming process** while conducting research into various aspects of science.
The science labs also conduct research on bacteria and viruses, both fatal and safe, to discover greater applications for their use. Chemical warfare in short. The labs conduct tests on different diseases to find cures for and to exploit those that can be used against the enemies of the One Sith. To ensure the safety of the workers, the labs employed six (6) MD Series medical specialist droids and five (5) FX Series medical assistant droids to handle the more dangerous materials. Also, everyone working in the labs are required to wear thinsuits at all times.
The security of the labs and the entire facility are patrolled and protected by fifteen (15) GV/3 Series guardian droids and ten (10) 501-Z police droids.
The entire structure spans four (4) square blocks with a two landing pads, one located on the roof and one on the west side of the facility. There are seven (7) entrances/exits into the building but can only be accessed by employee retinal scans. The facility, in terms of the employees, is to make it feel like a home away from home. Each employee (25 in all) each have their own room to decorate however they wish.
History:
After the terra-forming process had been completed, the Dark Council along with the head of Titan Industries, proposed that the facility was a necessity to ensure the safety of the citizens. Once more, Titan Industries lent the resources and some of it's engineers to aid Darth Venefica in erecting the facility.
It took almost a month, labourers working around the clock in 12 hour shifts, to complete the building. Debates and arguments over the naming rights of the facility grew heated. Finally Dr. Pany, the head scientist on the terra-forming project, put forth that it should bear the name of the city rather than an individual or corporate name. Darth Venefica supported the good doctor and thus it was named Taobh Dorcha Science Labs.
To reward Dr. Pany for all his hard work, Darth Venefica, with the approval of the Dark Lord, was named Director of Taobh Dorcha Science Labs and was allow to choose his own team from a list compiled with over two-hundred (200) applicants.
