• Monarc Drive - Some of the most brilliant engineers on Nubia have installed prototype modifications to the Tano's hyperdrive. Capable of accelerating just past lightspeed and most military grade hardware to cut down on emergency response time.
• Field Hospital - More than a typical freighter's sickbay. Includes a surgical unit staffed by a royal medidroid for treating the most critical kinds of injuries including lightsaber wounds.
• Blockade Runner - Powerful sublight engines that still maintain a low sensor profile for the ship's size thanks to an elegant design. Chance to evade passive or long-range scans.

• Jump Burnout - Using the Monarc drive is very demanding on the ship's generator. Making multiple jumps can cause a power surge damaged the hyperdrive and other random systems.
• Vulnerable Wings - Not just a large target, the shuttle's wingspan can limit visibility for both pilot and gunner. Less visual awareness of attacks from above or below.
• Crash Hazard - If the wings take serious damage it cripples the ship's maneuverability during atmospheric flight. Successful crash landings are very difficult and cinematic.

Built by Naboo and Nubian engineers based on an old Slayn & Korpil design. The Tano-class is named for an ancient Jedi hero since it was commissioned by the royal family of Naboo as a gift, most have been donated for use by Jedi Order personnel.

In landing configuration, the shuttle's wings are aligned in a horizontal layout but during flight the cockpit and engines rotate ninety degrees. The outer hull is etched with Jedi symbols and golden Republic filigree, but some requests have been made for more modest patterns. Optimal crew for missions is a pilot, co-pilot and aft gunner but the ship can be flown by just a single pilot with slaved systems if necessary.

Armed with enough firepower to defend itself, the Tano-class strikes a balance between strike vessel and ambassadorial craft. It has a spacious interior with room for hosting diplomatic talks or transporting government officials. Advanced medical facilities make it ideal for healers and Jedi recovering from dangerous missions.
