His insect-like features, hardened exoskeleton, and long hollow fangs give him a distinctive appearance that can seem intimidating to those unfamiliar with the Ketton species. PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Talresh Dal is a calm, kind, and curious Jedi who approaches the galaxy with patience and humility. Despite his unusual appearance, he is friendly and approachable, often taking time to listen to others and understand their perspectives. He enjoys learning about different cultures, environments, and forms of life, believing that every world and every person has something valuable to teach. While he is comfortable traveling alone, Talresh is not a solitary or distant individual, and he genuinely enjoys forming connections with those he meets.
Talresh follows the teachings of the Jedi while viewing them through the lens of his Ketton heritage. He believes that connection and compassion are natural parts of life, but that one must not allow attachment to become possession or control. To him, balance comes from accepting change while still appreciating the people and experiences encountered along the way. He has a deep respect for all living things and believes that protecting life is one of the greatest responsibilities of those who follow the light side of the Force.
Although usually patient and gentle, Talresh has little tolerance for cruelty, unnecessary destruction, or those who harm living beings without reason. He believes the Dark Side is a corruption of the Force and something that should be avoided, though he recognizes that some who fall to it may still find redemption. However, he understands that not everyone can be saved, and struggles when faced with situations where compassion alone is not enough.
Talresh does not fear much for himself, but he carries a deep concern for the suffering of others and the loss of life. His greatest struggles come from his desire to help everyone he encounters, even when some situations are beyond his ability to fix. His curiosity and compassion are among his greatest strengths, but they can also lead him into danger or make difficult decisions harder to accept.
STRENGTHS
Strong connection to nature — Particularly skilled at understanding and working with plants and living environments through the Force.
Skilled healer — Uses the Force to heal and stabilize others rather than relying solely on combat.
Experienced traveler — Comfortable surviving and navigating unfamiliar worlds, especially harsh environments.
Patient — Usually willing to wait, listen, and let situations develop before acting.
WEAKNESSES
Too willing to help others — He has difficulty ignoring someone in need, even when helping may put him at risk or interfere with other responsibilities.
Overly curious — His desire to learn and explore can lead him into dangerous situations or distract him from more immediate concerns.
Not physically imposing — His smaller size can be a disadvantage in direct physical confrontations against larger opponents.
Not a naturally aggressive fighter — Against opponents who cannot be reasoned with, his peaceful approach can put him at a disadvantage.
HISTORY
Talresh Dal was born on the desert world of Ket, where he was raised among the nomadic Ketton people. Growing up among the endless sands, he learned the traditions of his species: patience, survival, respect for nature, and the understanding that even the harshest environments were filled with life. From an early age, Talresh showed a deep curiosity about the world around him, often taking time to observe creatures, plants, and the hidden life of the desert.
During his early teenage years, Talresh's connection to the Force began to reveal itself. His abilities were first noticed by a Jedi who lived on Ket, who saw potential in the young Ketton and took him as a student. Their relationship grew beyond that of a simple teacher and apprentice, becoming something closer to family. Under their guidance, Talresh learned the ways of the Jedi while still holding onto the traditions and perspective of his own people.
Over the following decades, Talresh became a skilled Jedi Knight known more for his wisdom, compassion, and understanding than his strength in battle. Rather than seeking status or recognition, he dedicated himself to traveling the galaxy, helping communities, studying forgotten knowledge of the Force, and protecting life wherever he found it. His connection to nature and living beings remained central to his beliefs, shaping his unique interpretation of the Jedi teachings.
Now in his 50s, Talresh continues his journey as a wandering Jedi. Though his appearance may seem intimidating to those unfamiliar with the Ketton, his patience, kindness, and curiosity define him far more than his appearance ever could. He travels the galaxy in search of knowledge, peace, and opportunities to help others.
