Intent: Gotta control the crazy monsters somehow
Development Thread: As Needed
Manufacturer: Xerus
Model: Not Applicable
Affiliation: Xerus
Modularity: Yes, the receiver can be mounted on just about any creature
Production: Limited

Material: Cognition Hood, Villip, Neural Cusps, Biomatter
Description:
Xerus, at heart, is a cowardly cockroach, and thus riding his beasts were out of the question, and commanding them directly was foolish as they might not respond properly, or might respond violently to his orders. Each modified hood can connect to a handful of receivers, though it can only handle one at a time.

Thus, neural cusps were made to be grafted into a host organism, combined with neural tissue and brain matter from villips. This allows the Tall-Yor or Cognition Hood to send and receive information from vast distances, allowing them to “See” through the eyes of the creature it is connected to, though it does have some drawbacks.

First, due to the distance, the amount of control the wearer of the cognition hood has is greatly reduced. Normally they wearer is only able to relay information about what is friend and what is foe or food, tell it which directions to travel, and have some minor control over the beasts mood, able to keep it passive or super aggressive as a situation requires. This limitation forces the beast or creature to fight using its own skills or abilities, and as for the vast majority of creatures, that means hunting instincts. Second, the neural cusps are often exposed around the neck area, and severing them removes the limited control the system has over the being. Third, there is a limit to the amount of control the wearer has. No amount of neural connection will keep an enraged monster from killing someone poking it.
