- Nullification - These talismans were enchanted through the art of Dathomiri force magick, which could be rendered inert by any means of force nullification which affected physical items, and items bearing the talisman could not be summoned to the user while they themselves were within a nullifying field.
A ribbon of blood-red cloth affixed to a charm of carved zersium from Dathomir's moon.
The witches of this planet, Nightsisters in particular, would wrap them around arms and armor.
This one was engraved with mystic symbols representing the return of something precious.
A Talisman of Return was one of several in a series of "ritual wrappings" used by witches of Dathomir, especially Nightsisters, to confer enchantments on weapons and armor. Talismans of Return in particular were imbued with a spell of teleportation which spread to a suit of armor or weapon by wrapping the talisman securely around it and then preparing it with ritual incantations while the armor was being worn or the weapon held by the speaker.
In doing so the wielder, or wearer in the case of armor, was attuned to the item and wrapped charm. Once attuned, the owner could speak an incantation, usually some variant of "return" or "recall" spoken in Dathomirian or even High Sith, which would cause the item to teleport to the speaker from almost any location.
Attuned weapons would appear before the speaker in a cloud of mist, either levitating there until taken, or appeared instinctively the speaker's closed hand. Attuned armor however affixed itself to the speaker, remembering how it had been worn during it's ritual binding and returning to this state. It allowed witches and their warriors to don full suits of armor in a near instant, and was especially favored by assassins working undercover or Nightbrother s who wore cumbersome armor.
Some sith also acquired these talismans for themselves through bargains and pacts made with former witches and nightsisters who joined their ranks.
A young witch named Kaila was one such Dathomirian, who was taught by an intelligent grimoire to craft these charms as a means of safely practicing teleportation until she could cast the spell on herself without risk, although she was not the first to use them nor the first to ritually arm soldiers of the order with their magick.
