Description: The half-Echani inventor Rel Connory, notable for his unswerving hatred of Sith, created this unique suit of armor for Ra Vizsla. Ra, unknown to many, was a shapeshifter who had been adopted into a Mandalorian family. Connory’s challenge, then, was to create armor that would retain its protective qualities through a reasonably comprehensive range of distortion.
Flexibility is a rare quality in armour substances, at least at the heavier end of the scale. The most critical plates are partially made of Mandalorian steel, not known for its flexibility. Many overlapping metallic portions of the armor are made of flex-bronze and high-grade desh alloy, certainly a couple of notches below beskar in most ways. However, between the flexible metals and a shell-spider silk/flex-armor composite, the resulting suit can shrug off slugthrowers, shrapnel, blades and blasterfire. Flexicris lenses help keep the buy’ce functional even as it deforms to accommodate its owner’s transformations. Cortosis dust, lacquered onto the metal and impregnated into the composite, deactivates most lightsabres for seconds or minutes. Connory sourced the cortosis through Clan Rekali, who probably would not have been amused to know that it was destined for a suit designed to hunt and kill Forcers without discrimination.
Along those lines, Connory included thaissen-based circuitry, comparable to the Lightbringer sensor nodes he had once created for the Levantine Sanctum. This sensor can detect Force-sensitives and Force disturbances within a twenty-metre radius. Connory also included another of his creations, the Bloodtrace Scanpack, a medical sensor which detects Force-sensitivity at very short ranges.
Gurlanin are known for taking a canid form, or rather they are canid-like marsupial quadrupeds by default. This suit of armor offers full coverage to that form, a humanoid form, and several interpolations and extrapolations, as well as more outlandish shapes. However, the armor can only deform within reasonable limits without potential consequences to structural integrity.
