Taking Stock (Dust meets Lady Kay)

*Dust had never heard of this Sith, though the name was almost silly if not for the brutal connotation of it.*

Dust: "Do you know where he might be? Anyone who might know that information?"

Kay shook her head without hesitation. "No, I don't think so. And I don't care to know either, just as long as he's far away from me. It's a big Galaxy out there and I would be happy to never even know that he still exists."

*To a degree, Dust understood her reserve in wanting to find the man. She had made her peace with what happened and realized revenge wasn't a possibility. That being said, Dust wasn't capable of forgetting someone who wronged him in such a way. That is why Raien Keth stood forever as his greatest enemy, and he was willing to do anything to defeat him: even train under his tutelage.*

Dust: "I understand... I have been curious though. You speak of your son and husband as being force users. Are you a force sensitive as well?"

*He knew she was capable of force use as his ability to sense that was keen; however, he had no idea if she had been trained in the use of force powers.*

She nodded a little and brought her finger up to her lips as if to say 'sshhhh'. Then she folded her hands on the desk once again, speaking ever so quietly. "I try not to make it common knowledge. There's a lot of distrust in Force users out there and in my line of work, I don't want it to seem as though I am using it to manipulate or intimidate them."

She didn't want to abuse such powers either. They were gifts and she needed to respect it.

*Fascinating. A capable force user who didn't want others to know for the most part. Dust for one made very little effort to hide it despite having a very high capability with force stealth.*

Dust: *Matching her whisper* "Your secret is safe with me."

"Thank you. With all of the troubles that Force Users on both sides are causing, I would hate for another culling to take place."

She had done enough running and hiding for a bit. It was good to be a part of society again and help others.

Dust: "Force users are too prevalent I think. There really isn't much recourse for non-force users to fight against the modern force sensitives running around everywhere. But it is nice not having to deal with the prejudice against force users in the business world. Thats a lot of why I have Larun speak for me in meetings and such."

It seems as though they've run into different people. But it is a huge Galaxy out there, so it's not at all surprising. "I haven't run into many Force users at all, actually. Not for a long while, anyways. Most of the people that I've come across are not Force sensitive at all. And they have frowned upon those that are. So it's given me reason to hide it, which I suppose isn't entirely a bad thing."

Dust: "I have had a lot of influence from the force I guess from being trained in it around others, and so I assume there are a great many. Most of the non force users I've met were people I fought along side in battle and so they held a certain level of respect for my prowess. Strange how two people can see things from totally different angles."

"We've both lived different lives, but experienced some of the same things. We are different, yet the same as well. It's strange yes, but it's never a bad thing to see from a different point of view. That's how we learn, that's how we grow."

Dust: "Very true. Sometimes it is best to try and look at things from someone elses point of view to see every option in a given situation. After all, it is as important to know ones enemy as it is to know oneself."

Kay nodded, knowing how well that works. "That's what made my husband and I such a great team in politics and negotiations. We could both see each side and represent each side so that we would have everyone's trust that their best interests were taken into account. We were both sides of Force yet we could work together as one. We were almost unstoppable." That is until someone found out how to stop them and that included turning others against them.

*A wonderful relationship by every implication. He admired the thought of what was done and wondered how her husband actually died. Who was strong enough to fight two strong force users alone and kill one? Perhaps he read the situation wrong but Dust was somewhat shocked.*

Dust: "That sounds incredible. I am sorry you lost him. What about your son though, do you have plans to seek him out?"

She chewed the inside of her cheek as she thought about whether or not she'd seek her son out. With whatever decision that she'd make, Brad would probably have an issue with it. Hmmm.

"Well...maybe I'll gain myself more allies within the Sith organizations, if that's possible, and have them watch over Brad, maybe mention me to him and see how he reacts."

*Dust thought for a moment about whether he should tell her that he himself was a member of One Sith. He had met Brad and knew what her son looked like. Such a risk in many ways, but would it not be worth it in the long run?*

Dust: "I could watch over him. I have limited reputation within their ranks, but what I do have is the ability to be there and do what needs to be done to ensure the safety and well-being of your son."

Kay leaned forward, wide eyed and her expression was full of hope. "Would you? Oh thank you so very much! I hope that he doesn't think that I have you spying on him for me. I wouldn't want him to get even more angry at me. But you are a wonderful young man to keep an eye out for him. Thank you!" She just sat there beaming.

Dust: "I would avoid mentioning your name for that very reason. Hopefully that will be enough because there really isn't anything to link the two of us should he ever be curious about my actions."

She nodded as he was probably right and then rummaged through her satchel. Finally she pulled out a commlink and placed it in front of him on his desk. "Here. You can keep in touch with me with this. I'd rather not keep in contact through the Force. I'd rather that you not get into trouble by the other Sith for helping me."

"Yes, I suppose that it does as I'm sure that you are very busy." Kay got to her feet, sliding her satchel over her shoulder. "I hope that you find a way to connect with others again. You are a kind young man and the Sith don't deserve you. And if you ever need any help, I am just a message away."
