Intent: A very cheap non-Firefly light freighter, By Personal Request Of The Factory Admin - not trying to swamp you folks, I swear.
Development Thread: No. This thing is supposed to be as vanilla as humanly possible.
Manufacturer: Silk Holdings
Model: Tachyon-class Light Freighter

Modularity: Easily modified. Common modifications include increased reactor capacity, replaced turrets, and improved shields. The ship is known for very easy installation of false telesponders.
Production: Mass-produced
Material: Durasteel hull, transparisteel viewports
Description: The Tachyon-class is supposed to be generic, dirt cheap, safe, and ubiquitous. If the Tempus Ardet is meant to be a home for a large family, the Tachyon is meant to be a home for a loner, a young spacer just starting out, or a fringer who's been down on his luck. Lightly armed, geared for operation by one or two people, it's basically a reliable engine attached to a cardboard box. The name of the game is affordability.
The entire ship is on one level of deck, but numerous 'supply compartments' are found throughout.
