Strengths:

  • Crew member: With droid-owned ships in mind, the TS-C droids were built to crew starships, with the various tasks and trials that would come with this programmed into them. They are fully capable of working both as a completely droid force or alongside organics in operating starship systems such as gun emplacements, communications operation, and navigation.

Weaknesses:

  • Electronic Warfare: Like all droids, the TS-C is highly vulnerable to EMP and ion attacks. Should their ship be attacked with such weaponry with no shielding, the units themselves may be rendered inoperable, leaving the ship completely helpless to respond until units are restored. In an open battle this would likely leave the ship entirely open to enemy attack with no way to respond.
DESCRIPTION

Named for a typically peaceful simian creature native to Kashyyyk, the Tach-series Crewman droid is designed to operate a wide variety of ships in an equal variety of roles. Programmed to handle most common duties aboard starships the TS-C can operate as a gunner, a navigator, or in engine monitoring. While they aren’t maintenance and repair droids, they come standard with a scomp link and arc welder to diagnose and perform very basic repairs in order to keep their ship running long enough for a dedicated maintenance or repair operator to arrive.

Built with mass production in mind the TS-C can function in crews made up of both organic and droid operators. While they operate at full potential with a mixed crew, a fully droid-operated crew of TS-C droids can still provide efficient service. In addition, with its TranLang III communications module, the TS-C can communicate with organic beings

As a note, these droids are made solely with crewing ships in mind. They are by no measure intended for use in combat outside of ship-to-ship, and as such lack any offensive or defensive equipment. This means they are unarmed as well as unarmored, and the design of their hands prevents the use of the vast majority of weaponry available in the galaxy.
